Mexican immigrants are not refugees, in which case most Americans probably would support taking them in, though maybe not Texans 2. Egypt and the other Arab states including Jordan bear at least partial responsibility for the status of Palestinian refugees because they started the war that led to them being displaced in 1948 by invading Israel after the Palestinian leadership rejected the partition plan and launched a civil war to stop it, and then with the exception of Jordan, kept them in bad conditions intentionally to pressure Israel in hope of resettling then there after destroying it, before they realized that was impossible and reluctantly made peace in return for concessions. Lebanon banned Palestinians from working, Egypt banned them from leaving Gaza when they controlled it, etc.
