Everyone makes that face the first time they hear Angelina Jordan. To be clear, she is a child prodigy in the strictest sense of that term, she has been singing and arranging her own material, which includes working with the musicians on the arrangements to accompany her, since the age of 7, and she has worked with the highest quality of musicians and orchestras worldwide. Be careful, she is more addictive than drugs, and yes, her genre is 50’s to 70’s Jazz, Blues, and R&B. She is a true artist!
I already said this a few times, but this did not feel like an 18-yr old girl was singing. I am yet to hear her performances when she was much younger, but one can already tell that there is more to her than this song.

@@AleksReacts I do understand, and I think it was wise to start where you did, with “Bad Valentine” which is probably her best work, with the addition of a Grammy Award winning songwriter and producer, Toby Gad, it’s a testament to the decade of Angelina’s presence in the music industry. But I think you should be selective how you dive into that 10 years of Angelina, she worked very hard between the ages of 7 and 12 to refine and develop her artistry, and it doesn’t take reviewing all those songs to get the full trajectory of that development. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on RUclips. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. She does behave like she belongs on a stage and she sure can sing. The artists I mentioned are just the first ones that came to mind after hearing her sing, so it makes sense that she was influenced by them. Still can't believe that I forgot to mention Billie. The journey plan is like everything in my life - slow and steady my friends, slow and steady. Like with Lara, Dimash, Diana, Ren, Lucy I plan to explore Angelina and Aurora at a steady pace. I'd rather let the song sink in then just run through their repertoire like a headless chicken. Not to worry though, I will listen to a lot more. I started finding more of her on RUclips and was surprised she had a huge catalog even then. She can sing so many styles and covers a wide array of different singers and genres, but definitely adds her own style to everything she does. She covered every artist you mentioned--crazy and magnificently as well. Grew up with all the Jazz greats as well as Amy, Whitney, Adele, Elvis. When she was much younger she stated that if there was no Billie Holiday there would be no Angelina Jordan. There is so much material she has done and from the age of 7 most of it is just mind blowing. She just gobbled up everything she listened to and it became part of her incredible color palette that she painted songs with. It is like you took all the greats and put them in a pot, mixed them together, poured them in a mold and that mold became Angelina. The best way I, as other have put it is that she is music. You can see the transformation of her when she sings and I truly believe for that moment she literally becomes the music. Never seen anyone like her nor the effect she has on others---no one can express a song like her. You have a wonderfully fulfilling journey ahead of you should you choose to take it. I don't know if you have ever listened to Angelina before, but the singers you referenced as being reflected in her sound are indeed some of her principal influences that she has studied since she was a very young pre teen girl. These previous singers and many others who were popular even before her own mother was born in some cases. Angelina is a very special gem. I know that fans of every artist say this about the artist they like, but in this specific case, it has the added virtue of being the plain and honest truth. I am 65 years old and have listened to music all of my life but have NEVER found anyone else who comes even close to how impressive this young woman is. In addition, she is kindhearted ( despite this song), humble and charitable human being. You have just struck gold by finding her.❤️❤️❤️❤️👣

Classic rock from the 60's to 70's was what I exclusively listened to. But if you want a nuanced performance, which shows a very different side of her, and different voice, watch her 2023 Nobel Peace Prize performance of Unchained Melody. But about the context of the song choice first, honoring a mother impridoned in Iran, who hasnt seen her kids in years. It will add meaning and give you an understanding of the depth of her empathy. Also, this is now the DEFINITIVE performance of that song.

The Nobel Peace Prize concert was honoring the winner, Narges Mohammadi. Narges is an Iranian women's rights advocate, and she has been sentenced to 35 years in jail for it. In addition to roughly 130 lashes. Angelina's grandmother, and also Angelina's biggest inspiration in life, Mery Zamani, is ALSO Iranian, (hence Angelina's features despite having Scandinavian parents and being born and raised in Norway) and you have to imagine that this performance was very important for Angelina and her family. Narges has a twin son and daughter the exact same age as Angelina, and she hasn't seen them for many years. Now her children live in France with their uncle, but they received the prize in their mother's place, and they came to Oslo for the concert. They sat only a few meters away from Angelina during the performances, and it must have been very emotional for them. Taking this information into account, you see that the choice of song couldn't have been much better. And the same can definitely be said about Angelina's performance. The level of dignity, elegance and grace you see from this at the time 17 year old girl is simply incredible. Many of her fans say that it is her best performance to date, and I would really LOVE if you could find the time to react to it 🙂 At the same time, I absolutely respect your reasons as you described in your reply. Btw, this performance made Angelina the first artist younger than 18 to perform on the Nobel Peace Prize concert twice, the first time was when she was 8. At age 7 Angelina said in an interview that her biggest dream was to perform at the concert, so she is definitely making her dreams come true! She filmed most of Angelina's life since she was 18 months old and started to sing, like actually sing, with a 🎤. Don't worry this videos and documentaries so there's proof. By the age of two, she was addicted to the classics of Jazz music and self learned from the best. Ever since she has worked atleast 6 hrs a day on her music perfection. Sings in multiple languages, genres and music eras. Plus she loves the guitar and piano although trained in other classic instruments. Her family is very tight and protective, even more protective than we Angels. They have kept Angelina in a good balance growing up making sure nothing happened to her. They turned every company down from age 7 to 14 until she found her home who has given her everything she wants and needs. She controls her destiny and music. The label is there to enjoy one of the greatest to come along Ina century. In fact, her main piano guy is one of the execs at Republic/Sony/Universal. She is one many have been waiting for to bring music back to where it once was.
@AleksReacts yes! when she was young at age 7 on NGT one of the coaches told her to never let anyone tell her how you should sing. While another told her she IS music. She can't really be coached either as a prodigy she surpassed most instruction early on. But she has learned ways to keep her voice healthy. She arranges most all her music from early on. And now her studio built AJ her own private studio as she is learning to produce!
Angelina is great; she absorbed like a sponge, from a very young age, to great Jazz, blues, etc. As you mentioned. I don't know if it was through her mother that she heard that type of music. There are a few more that I was lucky to discover through personal friends and friends I've acquired on this channel. My point is, music these days is rather more a game of shock and fireworks, less of what Angelina's doing (as well a few others). It will be a pleasure to hear more from a true talent. One rare popular example of a proper singer in my view is Adele - just her, decent attire and her voice. Angelina falls into the category of a true singer, not an "entertainer", to give them a polite term.

I can tell you from personal experience that as long as a person has a roof over their head, food in the belly, clothes on their back and finally love and health in their life, they should count themselves lucky. I understood your point and again I am very happy that Angelina has learned from an early age to be aware of that fact and to stay true to herself. All I wanted to point out is that the others mentioned (like Whitney Houston or Amy Winehouse) also didn't have to meet a very sad end. I know it's hard to fight against the relentless music industry and it's not easy to cope with fame, but I hope that due to her lucky stars and her personality Angelina will always be able to decide her own path.

AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years, and toured with Barbara Streisand, accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. Did I forget to mention Jimmy Z, the famous Sax Player who worked with Rod Steward, Etta James, the Eurythmics, and Doctor Dre, was part of the band for the show? Jimmy stated that AJ was the best he has ever played for. I've known the song You Don't Own Me since forever, but believe it or not, had no clue who sang it. Good to find things out sometimes.😊 I've also heard of Quincy Jones, so many times, but again, to this day don't know much about him except the name and that he's somehow a big name in the entertainment industry. The Norwegian Barefoot Princess, she had to wear her Nike shoes in this venue due to health standards because food is served. Been listening to her since she was 7 years old. Her influences seems rather clear as I was able to pick up quite a few just from this one song, but her voice is as I mentioned in the video, still unique to her, same as with Etta, Adele, and all the others. It's more the style that's similar to me.

Angelina is by far, the most amazing young lady I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, from age six to eighteen, this past January. She is the personification of goodness, love and talent Listening to that gorgeous voice is food for anyone's soul, especially if it needs a kick start into loving life again. She has a treasure trove of covers that go back to age six and now, with the release of her recent EP, "Old Enough", featuring all new songs, all written by her with some collaboration, just as she collaborated with Toby on the writing of "Bad Valentine". Great reaction, but there's lots more out there. I believe you will be amazed with her early covers going all the way back to age six, and her live performances at age eight and on up from there.

To be clear, she is a child prodigy in the strictest sense of that term, she has been singing and arranging her own material, which includes working with the musicians on the arrangements to accompany her, since the age of 7, and she has worked with the highest quality of musicians and orchestras worldwide.
Be careful, she is more addictive than drugs, and yes, her genre is 50’s to 70’s Jazz, Blues, and R&B. She is a true artist!

I do understand, and I think it was wise to start where you did, with “Bad Valentine” which is probably her best work, with the addition of a Grammy Award winning songwriter and producer, Toby Gad, it’s a testament to the decade of Angelina’s presence in the music industry. But I think you should be selective how you dive into that 10 years of Angelina, she worked very hard between the ages of 7 and 12 to refine and develop her artistry, and it doesn’t take reviewing all those songs to get the full trajectory of that development. But yes, you need to sample from those years to understand that trajectory, which is amazing in and of itself.

Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.
Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate.
At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on RUclips went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14. At age 9, Angelina recorded a music video covering the 1956 Jay Hawkin’s classic, “I Put a Spell On You”. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs. At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a RUclips video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances. When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident. Also at age 11, Angelina recorded her “It’s Magic” album which has, at times, been in the top 10 best selling jazz albums. On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed Frank Sinatra “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on RUclips. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. On RUclips, search on The Complete Works of Angelina Jordan as Rusty Shackleford has put all songs in one file and has a complete playlist in the description of that video. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her. During the pandemic, Angelina was often seen buying meals for the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. Angelina perform Concert at the Music Hall in Portsmouth New Hampshire on Sept 22nd, 2023. It Was a great concert, who was not and could regret it, a big mistake. On 10/27/23 she released her new orginal singiel “Our Time”. In November 2023, she was presented as a debutante at Le Bal des débutantes in Paris. On 12/08/23 she released new Marry Christmas EP “Driving Home for Christmas”. On 12/10/23 she sing in Oslo at the Nobel Peace Prize Celebration - Unchained Melody tribute to 2023 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Iranian human rights activist Narges Mohammadi. On february 29, 2024 she had two concerts in Las Vegas, Nevada,on the Elvis stage.

I don't include before that only because she hadn't yet perfected her voice. Her style was always there. She covered every artist you mentioned--crazy and magnificently as well. Grew up with all the Jazz greats as well as Amy, Whitney, Adele, Elvis. When she was much younger she stated that if there was no Billie Holiday there would be no Angelina Jordan. There is so much material she has done and from the age of 7 most of it is just mind blowing. She just gobbled up everything she listened to and it became part of her incredible color palette that she painted songs with. It is like you took all the greats and put them in a pot, mixed them together, poured them in a mold and that mold became Angelina. The best way I, as other have put it is that she is music. You can see the transformation of her when she sings and I truly believe for that moment she literally becomes the music. Never seen anyone like her nor the effect she has on others---no one can express a song like her. You have a wonderfully fulfilling journey ahead of you should you choose to take it. I don't know if you have ever listened to Angelina before, but the singers you referenced as being reflected in her sound are indeed some of her principal influences that she has studied since she was a very young pre teen girl. These previous singers and many others who were popular even before her own mother was born in some cases. Angelina is a very special gem. I know that fans of every artist say this about the artist they like, but in this specific case, it has the added virtue of being the plain and honest truth. I am 65 years old and have listened to music all of my life but have NEVER found anyone else who comes even close to how impressive this young woman is. In addition, she is kindhearted ( despite this song), humble and charitable human being. You have just struck gold by finding her.❤️❤️❤️❤️👣

Why does Angelina sing barefoot? The answer may bring a tear to your eye. It is related to a promise she made to herself and to the world when she was only 6 years old. She was traveling in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own favorite shoes. Angelina ask the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said a doctor, but she could not because she had to take care of her siblings. She asked Angelina the same question and Angelina said I want to sing for the world. The young girl said she would pray for Angelina. Since then, Angelia has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She even stated at 8 years old that she would be donating her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond.

Most people get introduced to her with I Put a Spell on You, the b&w version when she was 9. It is a killer arrangement, which she created, with a dynamite band. You might want to try that next. But if you want a nuanced performance, which shows a very different side of her, and different voice, watch her 2023 Nobel Peace Prize performance of Unchained Melody. But about the context of the song choice first, honoring a mother impridoned in Iran, who hasnt seen her kids in years. It will add meaning and give you an understanding of the depth of her empathy. Also, this is now the DEFINITIVE performance of that song.

The Nobel Peace Prize concert was honoring the winner, Narges Mohammadi. Narges is an Iranian women's rights advocate, and she has been sentenced to 35 years in jail for it. In addition to roughly 130 lashes. Angelina's grandmother, and also Angelina's biggest inspiration in life, Mery Zamani, is ALSO Iranian, (hence Angelina's features despite having Scandinavian parents and being born and raised in Norway) and you have to imagine that this performance was very important for Angelina and her family. Narges has a twin son and daughter the exact same age as Angelina, and she hasn't seen them for many years. Now her children live in France with their uncle, but they received the prize in their mother's place, and they came to Oslo for the concert. They sat only a few meters away from Angelina during the performances, and it must have been very emotional for them. Taking this information into account, you see that the choice of song couldn't have been much better. And the same can definitely be said about Angelina's performance. The level of dignity, elegance and grace you see from this at the time 17 year old girl is simply incredible. Many of her fans say that it is her best performance to date, and I would really LOVE if you could find the time to react to it 🙂 At the same time, I absolutely respect your reasons as you described in your reply. Btw, this performance made Angelina the first artist younger than 18 to perform on the Nobel Peace Prize concert twice, the first time was when she was 8. At age 7 Angelina said in an interview that her biggest dream was to perform at the concert, so she is definitely making her dreams come true!
Lastly, just some additional information about her grandmother and Angelina's biggest influence in life, Mery Zamani. Born in Iran, Mery was considered a child prodigy herself, excelling in writing and painting. She went to Japan to study art, and here she met Angelina's maternal grandfather, who also had a big influence on Angelina. Mery did the illustrations for Angelina's book called "Mellom To Hjerter" (Between Two Hearts), which was released when Angelina was 9 years old. The book made Angelina Norway's youngest published author by the way 🙂 In the book Angelina talks about the reason why she ALWAYS performs barefoot on stage, honoring a young girl she met in the middle east when she was 6. (Her performance of Bad Valentine is maybe the only one you where you will see her with her shoes on. The reason was sanitary rules at the venue, preventing her from being barefooted. That stage was also the stage where Adele, Angelina's biggest idol among the contemporary artists, was discovered. )

She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and Gershwin. If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She filmed most of Angelina's life since she was 18 months old and started to sing, like actually sing, with a 🎤. Don't worry this videos and documentaries so there's proof. By the age of two, she was addicted to the classics of Jazz music and self learned from the best. Ever since she has worked atleast 6 hrs a day on her music perfection. Sings in multiple languages, genres and music eras. Plus she loves the guitar and piano although trained in other classic instruments. Her family is very tight and protective, even more protective than we Angels. They have kept Angelina in a good balance growing up making sure nothing happened to her. They turned every company down from age 7 to 14 until she found her home who has given her everything she wants and needs. She controls her destiny and music. The label is there to enjoy one of the greatest to come along Ina century. In fact, her main piano guy is one of the execs at Republic/Sony/Universal. She is one many have been waiting for to bring music back to where it once was.

@AleksReacts yes! when she was young at age 7 on NGT one of the coaches told her to never let anyone tell her how you should sing. While another told her she IS music. She can't really be coached either as a prodigy she surpassed most instruction early on. But she has learned ways to keep her voice healthy. She arranges most all her music from early on. And now her studio built AJ her own private studio as she is learning to produce!

Angelina is great; she absorbed like a sponge, from a very young age, to great Jazz, blues, etc. As you mentioned. I don't know if it was through her mother that she heard that type of music. She reminds me a little of Amy Winehouse .

I am not a big fan of child prodigies, because it means taking away their childhood and giving them too much responsibility, or projecting the unfulfilled dreams of some adults.

Angelina is quite obviously one of the rare singers today who have something special. There are a few more that I was lucky to discover through personal friends and friends I've acquired on this channel. My point is, music these days is rather more a game of shock and fireworks, less of what Angelina's doing (as well a few others). It will be a pleasure to hear more from a true talent.
One rare popular example of a proper singer in my view is Adele - just her, decent attire and her voice. Angelina falls into the category of a true singer, not an "entertainer", to give them a polite term.
Correct observation Aleks, and Adele is one of Angelina's great references (along with dozens of other sacred monsters of music), Angelina also talks about it in the documentary filmed by her mother Sara, on the occasion of the double concert she held in Las Vegas in February this year. In the past years she has done several covers of Adele's songs and I confess that I prefer hers versions, despite the fact that Adele is an absolutely superb singer.😍

The most songs Angelina covered from a single musician is Adele, at least 5 longer songs (Million Years Ago, When We Were Young, Someone Like You, All I Ask, Easy On Me) and 3 shorter songs (Set Fire To The Rain, Love in the Dark, Love is a Game). And most importantly, the qualities of these covers are fantastic. IMHO, very few singers cover Adele better than Angelina.

I understood your point and again I am very happy that Angelina has learned from an early age to be aware of that fact and to stay true to herself. All I wanted to point out is that the others mentioned (like Whitney Houston or Amy Winehouse) also didn't have to meet a very sad end. Rob was the MC of AJ Christmas Show that aired Dec 23, of 21. AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years, and toured with Barbara Streisand, accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. Did I forget to mention Jimmy Z, the famous Sax Player who worked with Rod Steward, Etta James, the Eurythmics, and Doctor Dre, was part of the band for the show? Jimmy stated that AJ was the best he has ever played for. Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California played the guitar, and was the MC of the show. (I can't list the complete backgrounds on all the band members because it would take several pages to do them justice.) Angelina stated that she would rather perform than take a breath, and she has never been forced to perform, it has been her decision.
AJ now lives in West Hollywood in Los Angeles, where the record company Republic Records has built a separate music studio for her. She states, "I feel incredibly lucky to have been signed by one of the biggest record companies in the world. I have my own studio where I make my own music. He has taken Angelina under his wing and this is their first original song to be released together. There are others in the works. No question that this song is created to display all of the best of Angelina's capabilities. It is likely that Toby co-wrote the song, but Angelina exudes grit and passion that is written on her face, and expressed in her vocals. It is she who brings this masterpiece to life! There is no question that this is the opportunity that Angelina has long anticipated. When Bad Valentine is officially released, it will surely launch her career to the next level! Peace.

Don't forget: On 27 June 2018, Jordan at the age of 12 was asked by QJ to performed "Fly Me to the Moon" and she opened for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London, as part of his 85th birthday celebration. I've known the song You Don't Own Me since forever, but believe it or not, had no clue who sang it. Good to find things out sometimes.😊 I've also heard of Quincy Jones, so many times, but again, to this day don't know much about him except the name and that he's somehow a big name in the entertainment industry. Of course, we all have google, so I see Frank Sinatra and Michael Jackson worked with him, along with many others, but this was me skimming his Wiki page.

The Norwegian Barefoot Princess, she had to wear her Nike shoes in this venue due to health standards because food is served. Been listening to her since she was 7 years old. Best singer in the world today perhaps. She makes you feel things. It is really strange actually in my opinion. A lot of Etta James and Adele plus others that you mentioned in her voice.
Her influences seems rather clear as I was able to pick up quite a few just from this one song, but her voice is as I mentioned in the video, still unique to her, same as with Etta, Adele, and all the others. It's more the style that's similar to me.
You hit the nail on the head with this reaction. All of the old time jazz and soul singers like Aretha, Nina, Dinah, Sinatra, Etta, etc. are all of the influences that Angelina grew up with. She spent a lot of time raiding her grandmother's record collection. Her wheelhouse is first and foremost jazz, but she is capable of any genre. She is a great rabbit hole to go down as she is very unique and has a huge catalog of music on RUclips from age 6 onwards. Where do you go from here? I would recommend that you cover some of her latest songs first, IF I WERE A BOY, the version of her singing in St. James Cathedral in London. SUSPICIOUS MIND, official video. @@AleksReacts I’m in my seventies and have listened to music all my life. Since I found Angelina, I listen to her everyday. No other singer has come remotely close to that. She has changed my life, and I am definitely not alone in that feeling. Angelina is once in a lifetime. Just start listening.

Angelina is by far, the most amazing young lady I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, from age six to eighteen, this past January. She is the personification of goodness, love and talent Listening to that gorgeous voice is food for anyone's soul, especially if it needs a kick start into loving life again. She has a treasure trove of covers that go back to age six and now, with the release of her recent EP, "Old Enough", featuring all new songs, all written by her with some collaboration, just as she collaborated with Toby on the writing of "Bad Valentine". Great reaction, but there's lots more out there. I believe you will be amazed with her early covers going all the way back to age six, and her live performances at age eight and on up from there.

Just forgetted to mention Elvis, one of her mentor. Her cover of Suspicious Minds (15 or 16) is stunning, and lot's of Elvis' others songs such as Can't Help Falling in Love, It's Now or Never, Always on My Mind......
Please don't get mad at me, but I am not a fan of Elvis or Frank Sinatra. Neither of them just couldn't touch my heartstrings. Respect, yes. Love, not me.
