You are at correct. Angelina has always known she was born to sing. In interviews she tells how she enters another World when she sings. It always amuses me to see her as a child, she is a little girl until she starts to sing then morphs into a fifty year old woman only to morph back to a little girl after the music ends. You are also correct in identifying how humble and grateful she is. She wrote a song called Shield at the age of twelve in which she expresses her thanks to her family for their support and protection and asks for their forgiveness for all that she is. Yes, this level of talent IS rare. I am a realist, so I am aware that there isn't only one person on the planet with such great talent, but the beauty in that is that the few who do have it are usually very different from anyone else including each other. Angelina is definitely one of the few.

I understand that some people prefer to see everything preceding the performance as well as the conversation after. I'll try to do that, but don't want to promise I will always do so and then disappoint people. I heard Angelina first at 18, which was great, but to sing like that at the age of 7 simply speaks to a natural, undeniable talent. It will be a joy to keep reacting to her music.

The first song I heard her sing was "I Put A Spell On You" in a black and white video with a band of professional musicians in a studio. She was 9 years old. She shows a candle with Screamin' Jay Hawkins on it honoring him. As soon as she started singing I could not believe what I was hearing. There was a huge disconnect between that powerful old-soulful voice coming out of the body of a little child. My jaw was on the floor throughout that performance. I literally was on my feet pacing back and forth in disbelief. And when I saw the reactions of disbelief in reactors I got to relive it all over again, but with that added enjoyment. Looking forward to you checking that one out too. It's one of the most watched videos in Angelina's song list and on RUclips.

What’s extraordinary is that in her four songs on NGT, she makes incredible progress each time. Her next song is another Billie Holiday, “I’m a Fool to Want You”, and she does that so beautifully-a cappella. Then Bang Bang and her winning performance of Summertime. You’re right-she’s channeling Billie Holiday, but by the time we get to Bang, Bang and Summertime, we’re getting Angelina’s versions-and they become her songs-her takes. If you thought Gloomy Sunday was good, her development over the next few months will amaze you.
I actually think Gloomy Sunday was GREAT, way better than good. Especially taking her age into account. This should have been impossible for a child to sing. I'll check out the others as well, maybe not in the correct order, but I will. 😊
Angelina has always decided WHAT and HOW she wants to sing! A few times her mother Sara has objected to texts. Then Angelina rewrites the text so that it is more appropriate for a little girl. You should know that Angelina is doing what she loves to do. No pressure from parents and others, just reach the goals she sets herself. The family is well ordered so that part is already done!

@@AleksReacts Yeap there is a recording of her circling around the net at 1 and a half years old singing a Whitney Houston classic. So singing came before speaking for her. There are some recordings along the way through her at 6 years old in the studio. But everything recorded started from this point on at 7 years old, after this she always recorded herself singing at home or anything. Thanks to her grandma and mum obviously and family for providing such videos. Quincy Jones said about Angelina that she is the best talent since Michael Jackson after she performed for his 85th Birthday. She is destined to become a legend in my opinion, obviously if music industry is still giving justice to the right artists, because lately it's been a mess.

I have never heard anyone speak about her small miscue when she was telling the judge her name. I would guess millions of people noticed it and you defined it as a point of nervousness although admitting that may have been the only time nervousness exposed itself. Your immediate reaction was tremendous. Before she began to sing you realized 'she knew she would be ready for this because she knew she belonged there'. And then, when she began to sing, you waited a while and then said, "Yes, this is not a kid singing!" I knew you couldn't believe what you were listening to! The child was a wonder here. I heard not a single note or even a change in her voice that was different from Billie's, quite an amazing ear and ability to replicate the song to perfection. I know the song by heart, it was so odd to hear the same coming out of a tiny thing like her.

Yes, from a general perspective she sounds the same but the growth in her skill and her voice is exponential. You will hear it throughout this contest and by 10 she was nearly flawless--a seasoned professional still forming her voice and style's from the all the greats she was listening to. You will hear that very soon she was changing and mixing in her covers and you could pick out a myriad of styles all combined to form her unique sound. I have never in my life seen anyone in anything progress at the pace Angelina does. She jumped years in only months. There is a saying in sports that hard work beats talent (not all the time) and the legends have both as does she. After performing Billie Holiday's 'Gloomy Sunday', all the talk about Billie being reincarnated in this 7 year old. You listen to Billie's original and believe that she sang both renditions. When Angelina applied this unique talent to emulate perfectly the vocals of A-List singers like Dinah Washington when she turned 8, leaving people believing her rendition of Dinah's 'What A Difference A Day Makes', sounded exactly like Dinah, Angelina was being referred to as a 'vocal chameleon'. This proved true in many other songs she would do.
I have to say I don't believe in reincarnation, but it really did sound like she simply sang exactly what she heard, note for note. Hence my not-so-serious comment on reincarnation. Her ability to perfectly hear and replicate a song at such a young age is the reason why I believe she FEELS the music with her whole being.

Angelina started singing at 18 months, there are images of this at the beginning of the video that her mom made about Angelina whose title is : " 10 Years in the Making,..." and already at 5 years old she wanted to go sing this TV show, but her mother thought she was still too young and Angelina herself said that being on stage is like being at home, that's why she is so comfortable and relaxed and that a child of that age sings jazz is unheard of . Moreover Angelina is a hard worker she prepares very well before singing and this too is exceptional for her age, her classmates say about her that Angelina is a good student and is excellent in English and mathematics. I have thoroughly enjoyed your reactions thus far to Angelina. I can always tell very early on when a reactor "gets it". I think another word for embodying is channeling. Angelina has the ability to channel her various influences in her performances. Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Diana Washington, Elvis, Adele, Whitney Houston, and many more. Her tone, inflection, register, all seem to be adapted to her influence for the song. It is why Angelina is known as the barefoot Princess of 1000 voices. I agree and disagree with you on the fact that Angelina is the same at both ages. She certainly had the confidence and the musical instinct at a young age as she has now. But her vocal strength and prowess has evolved tremendously in my opinion and you will see that as you progress through the rabbit hole. The years from 8 through 12 and even 13 and 14 are considered by many to be her magic years. The difference in skill from 8 to 10 Is enormous and again from 10 to 12. I hope you'll be following this chronologically through Norway's Got Talent and beyond. One last thing is that in my opinion you don't get to fully appreciate an artist until you know all about their background. There is so much documented on RUclips of Angelina's background. First mini documentary is called Born to Sing, the early years. I would definitely consider a reaction on that. There is another by Arab Man, another reactor who created his own mini documentary that is superb. Jumping to the present to her first Vegas performance and looking back on her last 10 years is 10 years in the making. Angelina narrates that herself that gives you a different perspective. The one thing that should come from all of this , and the reason Angelina has such a loyal fan base is because it is not just about her musical abilities. It is Angelina as a person that is inspirational. She is humble and a humanitarian with a tremendous work ethic. I'm not sure if you are aware why she sings barefoot? But I will outline it here just in case you are not. Why does Angelina sing barefoot? The answer may bring a tear to your eye. It is related to a promise she made to herself and to the world when she was only 6 years old. She was traveling in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own favorite shoes. Angelina ask the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said a doctor, but she could not because she had to take care of her siblings. She asked Angelina the same question and Angelina said I want to sing for the world. The young girl said she would pray for Angelina. Since then, Angelia has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She even stated at 8 years old that she would be donating her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond.😮
On the voice being the same as well as changing over time, we in fact fully agree. Remember I'm reacting in seconds while listening to her, all I meant there is that it is very recognizable. On the background though, I have to disagree. An artist's background and personality for me are usually visible through their art. Some very good examples of this are the greats such as Elton John, The Queen, David Bowie or some newer(ish) ones like Metallica, The Cure or even very new like Ren. I was a HUGE, nutty fan of Metallica and The Cure in my teenage years. To this day I do not know their background stories - I know less about them than I do about Angelina now (e.g. why she sings barefoot), but through their music I feel like I've known them personally almost my whole life. That is why I love music in the first place. One cannot hide their soul when they sing. Otherwise, whoever's listening won't feel anything. This girl is the genuine article. It is felt in the way she sings, in her comportment, in her attitude, in her eyes, in her smile. If she wasn't, her singing would not be so compelling. No one can sing like this and have no feelings. It is not possible. At least that is my view. It may not be agreeable to everyone and some may think it strange or simply wrong. Still, it's how I feel.
I see your point about the recognizability of artists you followed in the past without knowing a lot about them. I grew up with music from the '70s and there are many artists that I followed through that time period. I loved their music but I did not have an emotional attachment to them. Angelina is the first artist in my lifetime that I have developed a bond with because of knowing her entire story and her upbringing, and understanding her humanitarian spirit. I find it inspiring and it made me want to follow her and learn her music. I feel the same way about the Warning. They have an inspiring story that is similar in some ways to Angelina. I never listened to the kind of rock music that they specialize in but over period of months I have come to really appreciate what they do because of who they are. I will see them in concert for the second time in September!

Either or even both may be true. Only Angelina knows which one is the real reason for hesitation, not that it matters really. I don't see why a slight betrayal of a tiny hint of nerves in a 7 year old girl in front of that audience would be unthinkable. Thank you, I am happy as well, although our approach is the opposite. I started with Bad Valentine then went back in time to Gloomy Sunday, and did the same again with If I Were A Boy and finally What a Difference a Day Makes. Instead of chronologically, I'm sort of following my mood for the songs I know or dive into something new regardless of time. Oh, I don't know. It really depends for me. Sometimes I fear seeing too much around the actual performance takes a bit away from it. It might be because I really pay attention to every little thing and I'm afraid of becoming biased before I hear the song itself. I've watched a lot of the Britain's Got Talent videos and it turned me off of these intros. More often than not it would be some kind of sob story or a slightly awkward presentation (e.g. Susan Boyle). Luckily, in this case it was just a very normal little girl with a huge talent. Norway seems to do it differently. 😊

Oh, I hated the first part of Susan Boyle's audition. I felt ashamed as if I was doing that hip roll. Ouch. Loved her singing though and did not care one bit about her look! I mean, come on - if I cared about looks, I'd look a bit better. 🤣
They mentioned jazz. For me, her voice is pure jazz. I love jazz, can listen to for hours. But only when feel like.. She sings not only in this genre, but to me she all the same sounds jazzy. I understand moods for specific type of music. We can't always feel the same. That's why I don't always react to the same artist. I'd be bored to no end. I really enjoy your insightful comments. As you can tell, we are all in love with this girl. She touches us with her wonderful interpretations in a way I have rarely if ever felt before. You are right, she appears to be channelling rather than just singing. She does an acapella version of another Billie song, I'm a Fool to Want You in an elimination round then her next appearances on this show take place several months later after she turns 8. Aleks, excellent analysis, but I don't agree that her voice hasn't changed from 7-18 yo. Although this is a very mature voice for a child, I hear a child prodigy singer with amazing skills. By late 10 yo, she had lost any remnant of a child's voice & could be favorably compared to adult professional singers without having to add "For her age." By 12-14 yo she was as good or better than most Superstars of today & legends from the past. Now, at 18 she's in a class of her own, the GOAT, as far as I'm concerned. Over those 11 years her vocal skills improver dramatically & were refined in every possible way.
Thank you so much! Oh, don't take it literally. Of course, anyone's voice changes from the age of 0 until they die. Let alone someone who career is singing. You learn new things, that only add to the original talent. That refers to the skills, technique, and even simply growing up. What I meant is that it's recognizable as hers right away. That is generally not true for most popular singers today, even if the songs that come out span only a month. I sometimes hear a song and can't tell who's singing it even if I heard them sing something else a million times. Even worse, I mix them all up. Nothing unique that tells them apart from any other person who can sing. In this case, I instantly recognized Angelina's voice even though I only heard Bad Valentine before this and that's an 11 year difference. Now, THAT is very rare.

You are at correct. Angelina has always known she was born to sing. In interviews she tells how she enters another World when she sings. It always amuses me to see her as a child, she is a little girl until she starts to sing then morphs into a fifty year old woman only to morph back to a little girl after the music ends. You are also correct in identifying how humble and grateful she is. She wrote a song called Shield at the age of twelve in which she expresses her thanks to her family for their support and protection and asks for their forgiveness for all that she is. I heard Angelina first at 18, which was great, but to sing like that at the age of 7 simply speaks to a natural, undeniable talent. It will be a joy to keep reacting to her music.

The first song I heard her sing was "I Put A Spell On You" in a black and white video with a band of professional musicians in a studio. She was 9 years old. She shows a candle with Screamin' Jay Hawkins on it honoring him. As soon as she started singing I could not believe what I was hearing. There was a huge disconnect between that powerful old-soulful voice coming out of the body of a little child. My jaw was on the floor throughout that performance. I literally was on my feet pacing back and forth in disbelief. And when I saw the reactions of disbelief in reactors I got to relive it all over again, but with that added enjoyment. Looking forward to you checking that one out too. It's one of the most watched videos in Angelina's song list and on RUclips.

What’s extraordinary is that in her four songs on NGT, she makes incredible progress each time. Her next song is another Billie Holiday, “I’m a Fool to Want You”, and she does that so beautifully-a cappella. Then Bang Bang and her winning performance of Summertime. You’re right-she’s channeling Billie Holiday, but by the time we get to Bang, Bang and Summertime, we’re getting Angelina’s versions-and they become her songs-her takes. If you thought Gloomy Sunday was good, her development over the next few months will amaze you.
I actually think Gloomy Sunday was GREAT, way better than good. Especially taking her age into account. This should have been impossible for a child to sing. I'll check out the others as well, maybe not in the correct order, but I will. 😊

Angelina has always decided WHAT and HOW she wants to sing! A few times her mother Sara has objected to texts. Then Angelina rewrites the text so that it is more appropriate for a little girl. You should know that Angelina is doing what she loves to do. No pressure from parents and others, just reach the goals she sets herself. The family is well ordered so that part is already done!
That is quite obvious from her demeanor. It's very clear that this is her calling. I don't even think she wishes it, it's who she is.
Angelina Jordan and her music have improved the quality of my life. She provided me with hope when I needed it most. I truly believe Angelina was given the gift of song to draw attention to her message of kindness and empathy.

@@AleksReacts Yeap there is a recording of her circling around the net at 1 and a half years old singing a Whitney Houston classic. So singing came before speaking for her. There are some recordings along the way through her at 6 years old in the studio. But everything recorded started from this point on at 7 years old, after this she always recorded herself singing at home or anything. Thanks to her grandma and mum obviously and family for providing such videos. Quincy Jones said about Angelina that she is the best talent since Michael Jackson after she performed for his 85th Birthday. She is destined to become a legend in my opinion, obviously if music industry is still giving justice to the right artists, because lately it's been a mess.

Aleks, what a wonderful reaction to Angelina!. I have listened to hundreds of reactions and yours is THE BEST! I have never heard anyone speak about her small miscue when she was telling the judge her name. I would guess millions of people noticed it and you defined it as a point of nervousness although admitting that may have been the only time nervousness exposed itself. Your immediate reaction was tremendous. Before she began to sing you realized 'she knew she would be ready for this because she knew she belonged there'. And then, when she began to sing, you waited a while and then said, "Yes, this is not a kid singing!" I knew you couldn't believe what you were listening to!
Aleks, she's projecting the love inside of her to us in the form of music. And, she touches our hearts with that love. Effort? She works hard at her trade but the projection of love is GENUINE and cannot be denied.

Yes, from a general perspective she sounds the same but the growth in her skill and her voice is exponential. You will hear it throughout this contest and by 10 she was nearly flawless--a seasoned professional still forming her voice and style's from the all the greats she was listening to. You will hear that very soon she was changing and mixing in her covers and you could pick out a myriad of styles all combined to form her unique sound. I have never in my life seen anyone in anything progress at the pace Angelina does. She jumped years in only months. There is a saying in sports that hard work beats talent (not all the time) and the legends have both as does she. You seem to have a good connection with Angelina, (she seems to have this with many) so I can assure you that your journey with her will be a pleasurable one for you and your listeners. All the best.

Angelina started singing at 18 months, there are images of this at the beginning of the video that her mom made about Angelina whose title is : " 10 Years in the Making,..." and already at 5 years old she wanted to go sing this TV show, but her mother thought she was still too young and Angelina herself said that being on stage is like being at home, that's why she is so comfortable and relaxed and that a child of that age sings jazz is unheard of . Moreover Angelina is a hard worker she prepares very well before singing and this too is exceptional for her age, her classmates say about her that Angelina is a good student and is excellent in English and mathematics. And let's just put it this way : You did NOT disappoint. I am baffled by your ability to instantly digest and formulate what you see, hear and feel. And IMO most of what you said here was with pinpoint accuracy. The only difference between you and I is that I have been following her ever since she did this performance 10,5 years ago, and that I have heard pretty much every syllable she has ever sung. YOU, on the other hand, are completely new to her. I knew it from the get go last time, and now I know even more that this journey with you and Angelina will be an exceptionally interesting one. I have thoroughly enjoyed your reactions thus far to Angelina. I can always tell very early on when a reactor "gets it". I think another word for embodying is channeling. Angelina has the ability to channel her various influences in her performances. Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Diana Washington, Elvis, Adele, Whitney Houston, and many more. Her tone, inflection, register, all seem to be adapted to her influence for the song. It is why Angelina is known as the barefoot Princess of 1000 voices.
I agree and disagree with you on the fact that Angelina is the same at both ages. She certainly had the confidence and the musical instinct at a young age as she has now. But her vocal strength and prowess has evolved tremendously in my opinion and you will see that as you progress through the rabbit hole. The years from 8 through 12 and even 13 and 14 are considered by many to be her magic years. The difference in skill from 8 to 10 Is enormous and again from 10 to 12. I hope you'll be following this chronologically through Norway's Got Talent and beyond.
One last thing is that in my opinion you don't get to fully appreciate an artist until you know all about their background. There is so much documented on RUclips of Angelina's background. First mini documentary is called Born to Sing, the early years. I would definitely consider a reaction on that. There is another by Arab Man, another reactor who created his own mini documentary that is superb. Jumping to the present to her first Vegas performance and looking back on her last 10 years is 10 years in the making. Angelina narrates that herself that gives you a different perspective.
The one thing that should come from all of this , and the reason Angelina has such a loyal fan base is because it is not just about her musical abilities. It is Angelina as a person that is inspirational. She is humble and a humanitarian with a tremendous work ethic. I'm not sure if you are aware why she sings barefoot? But I will outline it here just in case you are not.
Why does Angelina sing barefoot? The answer may bring a tear to your eye. It is related to a promise she made to herself and to the world when she was only 6 years old. She was traveling in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own favorite shoes. Angelina ask the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said a doctor, but she could not because she had to take care of her siblings. She asked Angelina the same question and Angelina said I want to sing for the world. The young girl said she would pray for Angelina. Since then, Angelia has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She even stated at 8 years old that she would be donating her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond.😮
On the voice being the same as well as changing over time, we in fact fully agree. Remember I'm reacting in seconds while listening to her, all I meant there is that it is very recognizable.
On the background though, I have to disagree. An artist's background and personality for me are usually visible through their art. Some very good examples of this are the greats such as Elton John, The Queen, David Bowie or some newer(ish) ones like Metallica, The Cure or even very new like Ren. I was a HUGE, nutty fan of Metallica and The Cure in my teenage years. To this day I do not know their background stories - I know less about them than I do about Angelina now (e.g. why she sings barefoot), but through their music I feel like I've known them personally almost my whole life. That is why I love music in the first place. One cannot hide their soul when they sing. Otherwise, whoever's listening won't feel anything.
This girl is the genuine article. It is felt in the way she sings, in her comportment, in her attitude, in her eyes, in her smile. If she wasn't, her singing would not be so compelling. No one can sing like this and have no feelings. It is not possible.
At least that is my view. It may not be agreeable to everyone and some may think it strange or simply wrong. Still, it's how I feel.
I see your point about the recognizability of artists you followed in the past without knowing a lot about them. I grew up with music from the '70s and there are many artists that I followed through that time period. I loved their music but I did not have an emotional attachment to them. Angelina is the first artist in my lifetime that I have developed a bond with because of knowing her entire story and her upbringing, and understanding her humanitarian spirit. I find it inspiring and it made me want to follow her and learn her music. I feel the same way about the Warning. They have an inspiring story that is similar in some ways to Angelina. I never listened to the kind of rock music that they specialize in but over period of months I have come to really appreciate what they do because of who they are. I will see them in concert for the second time in September!

Either or even both may be true. Only Angelina knows which one is the real reason for hesitation, not that it matters really. I don't see why a slight betrayal of a tiny hint of nerves in a 7 year old girl in front of that audience would be unthinkable. I actually thought it cute and like her "I'd be aaah" beautifully childish. After all, she may be a huge talent, but she still was a small child at the time. 🥰

I started with Bad Valentine then went back in time to Gloomy Sunday, and did the same again with If I Were A Boy and finally What a Difference a Day Makes. Instead of chronologically, I'm sort of following my mood for the songs I know or dive into something new regardless of time. Oh, I don't know. It really depends for me. Sometimes I fear seeing too much around the actual performance takes a bit away from it. It might be because I really pay attention to every little thing and I'm afraid of becoming biased before I hear the song itself.
I've watched a lot of the Britain's Got Talent videos and it turned me off of these intros. More often than not it would be some kind of sob story or a slightly awkward presentation (e.g. Susan Boyle). Luckily, in this case it was just a very normal little girl with a huge talent. Norway seems to do it differently. 😊

Oh, I hated the first part of Susan Boyle's audition. I felt ashamed as if I was doing that hip roll. Ouch. Loved her singing though and did not care one bit about her look! I mean, come on - if I cared about looks, I'd look a bit better. 🤣

They mentioned jazz. For me, her voice is pure jazz. I love jazz, can listen to for hours. But only when feel like.. She sings not only in this genre, but to me she all the same sounds jazzy. That's why I'm not always in the mood to listen to her. 😜Sorry if anyone doesn't like it, it's just my opinion.😔 I know she’s awesome.

I understand moods for specific type of music. We can't always feel the same. That's why I don't always react to the same artist. I'd be bored to no end. However, when the mood is right, both Angelina and Diana shine. 😊

I really enjoy your insightful comments. As you can tell, we are all in love with this girl. She touches us with her wonderful interpretations in a way I have rarely if ever felt before. You are right, she appears to be channelling rather than just singing. She does an acapella version of another Billie song, I'm a Fool to Want You in an elimination round then her next appearances on this show take place several months later after she turns 8. Her performances of Bang Bang and Summertime are absolutely marvellous and I cannot wait to see you react to them. There is a video of all the performances in one including the finale where the winner is revealed. That would be a good one to do. Aleks, excellent analysis, but I don't agree that her voice hasn't changed from 7-18 yo. Although this is a very mature voice for a child, I hear a child prodigy singer with amazing skills. By late 10 yo, she had lost any remnant of a child's voice & could be favorably compared to adult professional singers without having to add "For her age." By 12-14 yo she was as good or better than most Superstars of today & legends from the past. Now, at 18 she's in a class of her own, the GOAT, as far as I'm concerned. Over those 11 years her vocal skills improver dramatically & were refined in every possible way.

Oh, don't take it literally. Of course, anyone's voice changes from the age of 0 until they die. Let alone someone who career is singing. You learn new things, that only add to the original talent. That refers to the skills, technique, and even simply growing up.
What I meant is that it's recognizable as hers right away. That is generally not true for most popular singers today, even if the songs that come out span only a month. I sometimes hear a song and can't tell who's singing it even if I heard them sing something else a million times. Even worse, I mix them all up. Nothing unique that tells them apart from any other person who can sing.
In this case, I instantly recognized Angelina's voice even though I only heard Bad Valentine before this and that's an 11 year difference. Now, THAT is very rare.
@@AleksReacts I definitely agree she has a signature voice, I can tell instantly that it's Angelina singing, but she has refined that signature into a work of art.
It would be odd if she didn't in almost 11 years. Singing gets better when one keeps singing - especially if they are born to it. 😊
