I often wonder if all of those beautiful nuances that adds to her covers, and which make them so uniquely her own, are even planned. I think they just flow, naturally, effortlessly, from her heart, from her whole being and, like her exquisite voice and transcendent talent, are all an integral part of who she is.
I think because of who she is, along with her seemingly infinite variations of sound, she is able to directly connect to each listener on a very deep level which also makes it like you are in a private session and she is singing to you and you alone. This is very rare and I have never known anyone to do it so consistently and with such intensity as Angelina does it. If I wanted to calm down and relax a room full of people--I would just play her music.

Funnily with Angelina, the song makes more sense. Notice also that AJ changed the ending of the verse. While Adele quickens the pace of the last phrase, AJ slows it down making it go perfectly well with the mood pof the song.
When it comes to singing heartfelt ballads, there is no way a 'Pop' singer, even one as extraordinarily good as Adele, can match the emotion laden penetration that a true 'Jazz' specialist like Angelina is able to do. Unless you are on a level with her true musical mentor, the great Billie Holiday, don't even attempt it.
