    There’s no grey area. Hold your phone, get caught = 6 points
    Don’t hold your phone= no points

    • @WizAnn320
      @WizAnn320  4 месяца назад

      True. It does seem to be a bit stupid to get caught holding your phone under the current climate. We have all been made aware of the consequences. Keep your phone in a cradle and don't hold it

    Dean you would get prosecuted for doing anything in the vehicle, ie, touching the radio, heating, for due care if they could prove it.

    • @WizAnn320
      @WizAnn320  4 месяца назад

      Dave answered this, You can touch all the dash controls and be fine but if it causes you to drive with undue care and attention you will be prosecuted for that.

    Hiya Dean
    I still have your complete taxi knowledge book from when you lived in the flat. I can't remember what year that was when I bought that from you must have been early 2 thousands.
    How the road network has changed from that book to now.

      Thats a collectors item Gary. Its so hard to keep a feeling for the streets I think we are all orientated to the layout we learn on the knowledge. Thanks for watching

    6 points for using a phone when driving is a insult it should be banned from driving for life,
    I got a broken neck and almost died from a f**king idiot texting and driving and drove into the back of me he got a £180 fine,
    Any passenger in the back of a black cab witnessing the driver using his phone the time and date should be noted down and information given to TFL and if it’s proven to be true they should lose their cab license with no chance of appeal,

    • @WizAnn320
      @WizAnn320  4 месяца назад +1

      😂 Don't hold back. It is very true that people holding their phones reading texts and even watching tickerdy tock is a menace.

    The cabby who needed the postcode for the V&A was probably one of these 8000 badges who are all suddenly cab drivers out of the blue.

    • @WizAnn320
      @WizAnn320  4 месяца назад

      No I doubt that. I can only suspect something more sinister. No cab driver unless they were having a very bad day would need that info.

    • @WizAnn320
      @WizAnn320  4 месяца назад

      @@delightburberry7700 You have to look at your choices and weigh up freedom and money earnt. Can you find another job as your own boss with less outlay less risk more income and more freedom. If you like the security of a nine to five paid job then this is not the job for you. But in terms of starting your own business nearly all other opportunities have far more risk far more hours work to less income. Very often i feel that those who are moaning about the job forget where they came from and dream of a life path that was not going happen to them. If you can find a better job with more or the same money then go do that.

      @@WizAnn320 This is spot on and excatly what you have said there are somethings that It is important to point out.
      When you obtain the GB yes you have the flexibility and earning capacity. On the contary, you have to live within the London area or with in a reasonsble commute time. If for example you decide to move outside the commute or live say on Stafford Upon Avon. You are stuck. You badge is only used for in London, it is not a transferable skill.
      You mention about your own Business. Please explain why TFL FORCE us to have a Credit Card Machine in the rear of the Taxi. When I or myself run a Business or am self employed you can choose to accept card or not. Please tell which or any Business gets FORCED to have a Credit Card Machine.
      If we choose to put CASH ONLY OR Cover the Machine TFL want to Penalise you. Please explain or tell me how this is a Business when your forced this. It is not in LAW that ANY and ALL SELF EMPLOYED PEOPLE DO THIS.
      If you run a Business then you have total control. This is to some extent not a Business.
      What if you decide to Migrate to another Country permantley? Can you transfer this GB their, you can't your stuck. For example I have a GB and a Degree in Maths, I did these 2 so if I wanna jump boat I can.
      People enter this Trade thinking of a Dream that will never happen. Remember your at The Mercy of TFL at all given times, if they take that GB away your gone finished. What transferable skill or craft do you have? To goto to earn a Decent Income....NOWT. You earn the Money and good Money, but again 1 slight mess up TFL will take the Badge away. You will then have to do a less paid job only in driving which does not need much skill. A bus driver,PHV etc.....
      The Most you can do and be is a Driver which is esentially what we are. People are also fooled into thinking by being a Taxi Driver is No1 job. To an extent yes, but if you decide to do this for 20,30+ years and loose your badge or wanna migrate your stuck.
      Another example you said is this,you have a Wife from Turkey and don't like being here. So why don't you live in Turkey petmantley? Because you and I know you can't because your License is not valid their.

    Such an old fashioned attitude by that guy re the apps. A lot of the app jobs are NOT your own work , a huge proportion of app jobs are business passengers doing this on the company accounts. They wouldn't be hailing you in the street when it's on the company card and they certainly don't want the hassle of flagging down a car on the street. This is a generation brought up on tech, the sooner black cab drivers realise that their customers are the ones pulling the strings, the better.

      Very true. There is no escaping it, it is a case of learn to use it and move with the times because it is not going away now.

      It's not about being anti apps, it's about how much commission these apps charge us.
      Gett commission is absolutely extortionate @20%
      FreeNow is now 18%
      Bolt is 0% for the moment
      Taxiapp don't give you a sigle job, so it doesn't count.
      Uber, they can sod off.
      Unify, not even running.
      All these apps want is to get customers used to pressing a button to then, in a few years, when street hail will almost entirely disappear, increase their commissions to whatever they want, as we are going to need them in order to work.
      Why can't people understand this?
      We spent years doing the K to make a decent living and have a great work/life balance.
      Apps are not the future.
      Apps are there to take income from us and share it with shareholders.
