To me, this is his BEST song ever! The song is 34 yrs old and I still love listening to it!

In the beginning of the video it shows that she's leaving with the child. He wakes up to a note. Then he goes to the bar and the woman in the bar is the mirage of his love at different times. After drinking and thinking he goes after her to get her and the child back with him because he loves them that much.

Same girl he met on the bench in “Wishing Well.” Apparently they had a child, lost connection and re- connected- I’ve love both songs since they came out- and seen the videos, but it had been a while watching the videos- He reminds me sooo much of Prince ,looks wise mostly - I always knew that, but the videos sealed it- 🔥✌️
And she was in a third video Dance Little Sister which is the midsection of this storyline.

As you have probably been told by now the woman in the bar isn't someone he is pursuing. She is just some random lady having the type of intimate moment that reminds him of his own heartache.
A potential confrontation with another random person in the bar is quickly struck down when his boys (members of his band) stand up quickly to intervene.
His love interest was telling him in French "goodbye, Terence" in the beginning of the video as she literally walked out of the relationship with their daughter in tow.
This video is part of one story told over three videos with the same woman/female character. In order they are:
Wishing Well - The characters meet for the first time
Dance Little Sister -Their relationship has blossomed and they now have a daughter
Sign Your Name - They suffer a temporary breakup

Another songs you can check from this era are "If you all get to Heaven', If you let me Stay', 'Seven More Days', 'Lets go forward', 'Rain' and the Epic 'As Yet Untitled'. Also he did a duet/Featuring with British singer Des'ree , beautiful song named "Delicate' . TTD changed his name and persona and goes as Sananda Maitreya nowadays still making great music and still touring!

Absolutely love this song. It was released during my last year as a teenager.
The woman kissing the other guy in the bar wasn’t his love. Both had a bob hairstyle (the one in the bar had bangs/fringe,) and were brunettes, but that was it. Anyway, the video isn’t the song, but it’s still interesting. I think that’s an issue with music videos, even when they are good, they cause someone to translate the song differently than if they heard the song on its own.
