Delphi Lungwyn basically thought he was the nuts and insisted on producing the follow up album. But he wasn’t so good a producer and it bombed. But ‘Introducing the hard line...’ was brilliant.
I respected him for telling the world he wasn't coming over to America to be treated stupidly. He said " I saw what you all did to Michael Jackson. No thank you." A man of integrity.
One of my favourite singers, underrated for his musical ability I remember this song coming out 1987 I was 21 I still listen to his music enjoy. So lucky to have experienced the 80’ were musically awesome in my option enjoy 😉❤️
I was invited to a show, had no idea who was playing, Terrance showed up, he played every instrument, he was, James Brown and prince, amazing performer
As a Pronoun it is used to refer to an additional person or thing of the same type as one already mentioned or known about; one more; a further. You're Welcome...
When he came on the scene it really locked like he was going to be big. He could sing, he had good material, he could dance and he had charisma. And all of a sudden he fisseled.
Going on 34 years off and on.... this has been our song for many of those years... sometimes you have to shows that you're still will to put in the work! To know someone deeply is to know someone softly, Wishing Well, She Kissed Me, dance Little Sister.... I still listen to Terrence though now he goes by Sananda Maitreya
I worked for a company that sponsored one of his concerts. The first album was well received. The song Wishing Well was number one and charted for seventeen weeks.
Ok Terence is an American who identifies himself as British citizen his show was great back in the day, he can sing live sounds like his album, he is an underrated singer.
Industry fucked up putting him in too much Michael &prince hell all BlkMAN steps are similar whatever the dance is &add he can move dam the industry TRENT
Love his voice manly beautiful he has his own tune sound industry have screwed some hell of Talent for one or two favorite jealousy he can carry his own weight & voice ok
Oh Jesus. 1987. I was 13 I fell in love with this man. I honestly thought he could have been prince's long lost son. He had the body of a God the voice of an angel and the ego of Ali.
What an insightful reaction; spot on re keeping the lines of communication open & showing-- by action-- what you wish to convey. I watch all reactions to Terence/Sananda: he's the personification of talent & intellect in one beautiful human..
Wow nice to see the youger generation reviewing his music, he was all that back in the day! Still have a mad crush on him.❤❤❤ He can sing , and his dance moves weren't to bad had some James Brown moves , but he was blessed with true talent!!
Great Song ~ I remember it well when it was new; along with another big hit Wishing Well. Tracy Chapman's Fast Car was climbing the charts at the same time; another favorite of mine in 1988.
I am so proud of this brother. He is still performing and making great music independently today legally another name. Which is Sananda Maitreya. He has been reborn. The American Music industry tryed to control him and destroy him. But he broke free. He realized artistic freedom was more important than being a slave to the system. On his official site you can keep track of his life and dates of future concerts and future music. Angels and Vampires volumes 1 + 2 is one of my favorites under this new name.
"If You All Get To Heaven", "If You Let Me Stay", "I Have Faith in These Desolate Times", "It Feels So Good To Love Someone Like You", "Turn the Page", "Succumb To Me" are other great Terence Trent D'Arby songs.
Terence Trent D'Arby changed his name in Sananda Maitreya he has been living in Italy since a long time. He married an italian woman and even made a few songs in italian.
Bought the album Introducing The Hardline According To...when it came out here in UK 1987. The record got drenched in a rainstorm on the way home from the shop but played perfectly. Classic album.
Loved this song, and loved even more another of his songs: Wishing Well. He had a great voice and dance moves .... He was so HOT he might have been a success even if he couldn't sing or dance!
I am Terrance Trent Darbys age, an can remember him well. Very cute and sexy. He writes alot of his music. Thats why It is poetic. He was one of my favorites from the Micheal Jackson Prince era ⚘ Look up his past music he won't disappoint.
The music's great she just sits there rocking like someone from deliverance I cannot beleave these people have not heard of the artist were the hell have they been living
I was sixteen just got my license and my foster sister and I went to the mall for the first time alone. We ended up getting the cassette. We listened to the whole album in my little orange chevette never leaving the parking lot. Then we listened again. And again...and again...and...
Thanks for a reminder about this fabulous artist. I'm not on FB anymore but he was on it. Has another name now and is doing his own thing with music. Still a very interesting and gorgeous guy!
TTD was a poet. There are a bunch of people out there who will mislead you about what stopped him from being a bigger hit but they really don't know any better. Here is the important thing....D'Arby was just as talented as the two fellow 1980s contemporaries who ultimately ended up as legends: Michael Jackson and Prince. The former could dance better and the latter could play more instruments, but D'Arby had just as great a stage presence and was, in my opinion, the better vocalist of the three. There are a lot of live performances of him on RUclips if you want to judge for yourself. Often the videos are under the name Sananda Maitreya, the name he has been going by for I believe almost two decades now. D’Arby was a crooner that was closer to the Old School sounds of Soul like Jackie Wilson and Sam Cooke, thrown in with a little James Brown. He had that rasp in his voice. For some examples check out “Dance Little Sister” and arguably his biggest hit “Wishing Well”. Those two videos as well as the “Sign Your Names” vid you watched make up one story broken up into three pieces. ruclips.net/video/ynIHsHYaig0/видео.html ruclips.net/video/OlmKCj03fHw/видео.html D’Arby was closer to Prince in that like him he wrote all of his songs and could play instruments. But as I alluded to earlier, what separated him most from his peers was his ability to write love songs that were pure poetry. You got a taste of it in “Sign Your Name” but his best work on that front was “Holding On To You”, which for my money is the most poetic romantic song my ears have ever had the pleasure of listening to. You can check out the studio version of it in the link below. ruclips.net/video/GtoTkGmbqo0/видео.html Or even better check out his phenomenal live performance of it. ruclips.net/video/zA8hE50xJeE/видео.html Recently D’Arby returned somewhat to the consciousness of music lovers when the Obamas put out a list of songs they loved and his version (cover) of Who’s Loving You was included in the mix. It is amazing. If you get a chance check that one out as well. ruclips.net/video/OvPo_4DEfZg/видео.html And thank you for being one of the very few people to do any reaction of his work. He has become a forgotten star. His first album was a HUGE worldwide hit.
Oh my God!!!! I saw this title and my mouth dropped open! I was just thinking a couple days ago I'd like to review Terence Trent Darby's 7 more Days. Wow! And this is my first time seeing the video for this song. It was my best friend's favorite when it came out in the eighties. Go on girl! You're on to something with these reviews. 😀
This is the first time I've seen this video. I'm familiar with the song, but the video brought out some aspects that didn't occur to me. I previously thought that song was about a really smooth dude just smooth talking his lady friend.
Great song from an album I loved as a kid. I'm amazed no one has picked up that the video shows the story of a man who has to turn his back on bisexual instincts to win back his family.
Yes, Terrence Trenton D'Arby a extremely talented, beautiful and sincere artist and person.
This guy was underrated. Great musician.
Delivered one truly great album then.....
@@pitmatix1457 he just vanished

But he moved to England, where they called Michael Jackson, "Wacko Jacko" lol
I don't think has the same, um...issues....as Michael Jackson.
Europe ain’t no better they crapped on MJ too what are you talking about.
