3:20 I was told by a guitarist in my town who'd been playing shows for 40 years- "If you feel no nerves at all before a show? There's no point in being up there anymore."
Just as you said Kiko, I always took what he said to mean: If you don't feel passion about the songs you're playing, to the people you are playing to, regardless of your ability, you need to take a look at yourself and ask if what you're doing with your skills is right for *_you,_* and making you happy. Otherwise you're just practicing and having people pay to watch.
    Would you agree?

Being nervous and getting anxiety is different from getting excited. Nervous and anxiety is the negative loop when you think that things would not end well, or that you’re going to mess things up. He’s a professional, and he has big concerts experience, he’s not going to mess things up and there’s no need and makes no sense to feel that way, he clearly gets excited, which is feeling the anticipation of something good and pleasant. Do you want a surgeon nervous before a surgery on you? I don’t, and surgeons tend to love doing what they do best…

Hey I wasn't complaining, Kiko 😂. I was just trying to offer a different perspective. To me it sounded like the person asking wanted to know why you're closer to the fret wire but I could be wrong. Either way your explanation was clear whether or not the person was asking about the distance between your fingers and the fret board or your fingers and the fret wire when fretting. Thank you!

Here's a trick, leave the ball end on each string and feed the plain ends through the tuner posts and pull towards the Floyd and cut to length allowing about an inch or so, clamp in the bridge, that way you only have to cut each string once and the ball end acts like a locking tuner, plus none of the messing around wrapping and over locking the strings around the tuner posts to stop slipping

I just want to say your the perfect guitarist for Megadeth, your "jazz bossa" influences mixed with Dave's heavy metal approach is just a match made in Heaven. the Q&A is very helpful. I just want to ask since Dave said your the best guitarist Megadeth has ever had. Do you still find some Megadeth solos or riff hard to play? and does he allow you to play or modify the solo of Marty differently? Cheers!

Hi, Kiko! I've been playing since i was a kid, i'm 30yo now. Always played in bands, it was my main income for years. But being a hired musician i became tired with the lack of money security, getting out of clubs at 5am while my wife was alone between other things. So i started Music College on classical guitar, i'm on the fifth period but i feel like my study routine is making me tired of playing, i feel no more joy on playing my guitar or writing a song. It became a study object when before it was a way of me being free and creative. What advice do you have for me? I feel like i shoud drop out and change my major.

1:33 i have a 7 string guitar (Chris Boderick model btw) and intonation of the 7th string is very hard. But is something absolutely to recommend , principally for composers. You can tune the 7th string for you get a 4th with the 6th string, this gives a new harmonic universe
btw i am just the 7 th son of 7th son

I completely understand the being easier playing in front of 100's to 1000's of people is easier than playing in front of 1 to 10 people. On stage and in front of Tons of people you don't really see then critiquing you. But playing in front of 1 to 10 people you see them watching your every move and wonder, am I messing up? Are they seeing my flaws? What are they thinking about me at this moment. You feel more judged with fewer people. Up on stage its just all fun.

And having this correct hand position with your playing it helps A LOT when you try to actually play a fretless guitar for example. • @angusorvid8840
    @angusorvid8840 3 года назад

It's all about economy of movement. It takes a lot of finger movement, a lot of dexterity, and when you're playing at very high speed your fingers are getting quite a workout. When your fingers are not hammering the strings put pressing just hard enough, you're getting more efficiency of movement. If you press too hard, especially on large frets, you will go sharp, and everything will sound very off. It's all about serving the music so you can give it your all, not spread yourself too thin. Playing guitar at a top level is like being a top-level athlete, a marathon runner, and you have to pace yourself and expend your energy efficiently.

  • @allendean9807

I’ve always had people ask me if i get nervous playing in front of crowds. And, i never have, in the sense that i feel a nervous type of fear, but rather a nervous type of energy. And that energy can be your friend. Keeping it and using it makes for a great performance! I’ve never played before ten thousand, but I’ve played to a few thousand. And i find smaller venues way more fun, because you’re face to face, and it’s really intimate.
Remember, it’s all fun. All the screw ups, the cracks in your voice, and the perfect nights! it’s all part of the journey!

Question for your next q&a: how do you deal with hand/arm pain? Lately my arms and hands get tired and hurts more than some years ago. Granted, I'm old, and im a programmer so i use my hands a lot, but still it should be less than you playing a tour. Thanks for what you do!

Get a powerball gyroscope, it will fix your pain in no time.

Kiko, I am new to your channel and enjoying it very much ! so thank you very much for your time. There is a tool that you can buy called a shredneck trem block, but to me the other methods ... cards battery etc. work as good. Also you can use the cover plate from the guitar as well. I have not searched all of your videos (yet) so you may have already done a video about my question ... but I wish you would do a video about adjusting the action on a floyd rose set up. Thanks again and I wish you well for the rest of the tour ! I like the action to be as low as possible without fret buzz ..........

Tu é muito gente boa, Kiko. Muito obrigado mais uma vez por trocar ideia com seus fãs e por trazer toda essa experiência de músico de banda gigante nos ensaios e na estrada e nos shows.
