I'm going to say this, and I believe I am probably speaking for everyone - Kiko you are so authentic and generous with your time. It really comes through how much you care about guitar, guitar players (of all levels), and people. Thank you.
00:40 Kiko's first big show, plays bossa nova song with a girl in high shool, Kiko today: "I don't remember her name actually" The girl today: 💔💔 😭😭 😵 💀 Kiko: "Oops" 😬
When and how did you come up with the Idea of conquer or die? Everyday, I play it on repeat. It's hard to learn since I am a noob. I just want to know where you got the inspiration to write the track? What is the story behind it?
That Vinnie Moore version is really good. I wonder how many guitarist got their first break at the High School Talent show. My friend John played the Cross Roads Steve Vai stuff and mixed in some Tony Macalpine at our high school talent show. Back in 1987.
Hi Kiko! Greetings from Finland! 🇫🇮 I love watching your videos. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences. For your Q&A: Is it hard to play in a US-based band and live so far away? Are you coming to Finland to do a show any time soon?
I was there at Colégio Rio Branco. I don’t remember so well, but I think that your band was called White River. I filmed that show in VHS for a friend of mine, who has the footage. You played amazingly!!! Congratulations, Kiko!!!
Vinnie Moore's Time Odyssey is a Gem, when I first heard While My Guitar Gently Weeps I didn't know it was a George Harrison' song, but I fell for it anyway, it's a beautiful translation to a heavier and instrumental piece. Jordan Rudess' arrangement are wondrous. While the musicians are travelling through the notes, it feels like we listeners are travelling through dimensions.
Caramba bicho, Carpark North. Volta e meia escuto.
Thank You so much for all the insightful content you put up sharing us how is it like rockstar life , I'm from Malaysia managed to saw you guys back in 2017 I guess,
Kiko, you're awesome, man. 5:45 in - Great insight and granular breakdown of the whole universe of learning music and getting acquainted with your own musical voice. Really great thoughts.
your answer to Soap's question it is something Ive been doing for a while - unknowingly. it starts out with a simple progression that naturally comes on that day and then play around with it. It seems I'm very "good" at writing intros and choruses... really difficulty for me to come out with verses (or something that could be sang on top off), maybe because I listen to a lot of instrumental metal.
For me its kind of the other way around. I always end up coming up with something that sounds like an outro/ending and then I have to work backwards which is very f**ing annoying xD Especially if you cant really use the same thing as an intro.
I play your solos and my friends say ne I'm amazing. So you inspired me for more complicated frazes just like Moore inspired you) I have a question. Would you like to jam with Marty Friedman, or Kirk Hammett?
lol that's so funny I do the same thing when it comes to drinking water before and during a performance. I've been in that situation where I had to go to the bathroom and I had no choice but to leave the stage. Super embarrassing XD
Obrigado Kiko! I always appreciate your advice. I keep getting stuck with my speed, I always try to slow down and build it gradually making sure each note sounds clear and for as long as it needs to. I have even tried changing my pick grip. I know consistency is key and that all people develop at a different pace but it is just so frustrating to do things the way everybody thinks agrees is the right but see little to no progress. Any tips? thanks!
It’s cool when kiko talks about his childhood , habits , tips…. Is it possible to practice licks , Megadeth solos for example on an acoustic guitar (nylon) ?
Hi Kiko, can you please elaborate on your Gibson Les Paul? Which model, modded or stock, which song do you use it and why? In your opinion, what you gain, opposed to the Ibanez, when you use it? As Dave is on Gibson now, was that an incentive to use one live? Thank you and keep the great work.
I guess a lot of ppl now are very concerned to be very technical but if you have the melody, that’s it. Having your own characteristic sound is the most difficult part when creating music, but Kiko seems like he achived that almost naturally. Kiko didnt record his music based of only synthz, Kiko played with his heart.❤️
Great answers as always Kiko. I thought your explanation about ones own style was good actually. QUESTION: When playing for fun, or for yourself, do you prefer a tube amp, or modeling device, or can you get your sound on anything ? I ask because I miss playing loud with a tube amp cranked where one gets that push back, or feel and how the amp breaths and responds. I know some of the newer modeling is supposed to feel like a tube amp. Just wondering sir. Tha is so much!
Kiko any chance you can jam with some other guitarists in the future? I would love to see you trade riffs with Jeff Waters fron Annihilator that would be awesome!
Hi, Uncle Kiko. I am 19 and I admire you so much ! You are a kindhearted human-being and a great musician. I have been prioritizing just the practical stuff of guitar playing and I feel I don't know the theory much. Can you give me some advice or approaches to understand or get the theory such as the modes and scales? Thank you very much !!

This episode feels very personal. Probably because youre sitting on the floor talking to us Haha! Thank you kiko!

Everyday, I play it on repeat.
It's hard to learn since I am a noob. I just want to know where you got the inspiration to write the track? What is the story behind it?
I'm not Kiko, but if i remember correctly, it was mostly improvised.
@@BOMAPUu I would only accept the answer from the man himself.
@@dreadnought.09 It was an improv though, he already said it
That was a mix of brazilian classical guitar songs and a little bit of Van Halen (Ripley) in the middle.

Hi Kiko great Q&A Video, your content is so personal, and it feels like watching an old friend. Keep up the good work, cheers from Seattle Washington.
I used to have an Ibanez RG 550 and had the Time Odyssey tab book!
Love how authentic you are. Especially considering your amazing skill as a musician and guitarist…
U dropped this 👑
Kiko, truly the nicest person on this planet. And a very inspiring guy. Even for an older dude, like myself.

You are so welcome! Good question!!
Hey kiko, what was your “i got it moment”? was there a specific time in your initial progression where it all (theory) made sense in your mind?
I was there at Colégio Rio Branco. I don’t remember so well, but I think that your band was called White River. I filmed that show in VHS for a friend of mine, who has the footage. You played amazingly!!! Congratulations, Kiko!!!
I hope he sees this comment and somehow gets to re-watch that footage.
Hello Kiko!
Weird question: do you have to be a christian to be part of Megadeth? (Dave Mustaine is very religious).
Man, whatta hell r u talking about??? How old r u? Ten?!? Do u ever heard the word RESPECT?

That's a very good question! Kiko, answer this one 🤔🙂
Hope so. I love Kikodeth.
Kiko is imortal? Funny. Forever home.

Hey Kiko, do you have an advice for musicians who are getting nervous on stage? how do I make my self chill?
Kiko, did you ever use playing guitar to help with depression or anxiety? I'd be lost without it, so why ain't I better?🤷♂️
