Hi. Just started watching dot video. Why is it called crochet hook … its dots. I love the glass so beautiful .. looks like pearls and bling. lm afraid if l did any. Omg. Scarey. 🤣. You have the patience of a saint ..it looks very relaxing. l sure would like to give this a go …TFS. ❤️🇨🇦
Maria, did you bake these to make the paint permanent? Are they dishwasher safe? I love the design! I’m just curious about how the glitter and the metallic paints hold up with use? Thank you!
HI Loraine. The paints I used are the DecoArt Gloss Enamels which also come in the glitter I used on this piece. Once cured and baked according to directions, they are dishwasher safe top rack. Mine went through the dishwasher beautifully. They will get light use of course so won't have a lot of wear and tear so I'll have to wait longer to see how they hold up over time.
Hi Maria! I was wondering how the white glitter paint did after curing in the oven. I’m going to be making some champagne flutes for a dear couples 60th wedding anniversary, and wanted to use this paint. Thanks. Oh, BTW, love your tutorials.
I have a difficult time following a spiral design. Is this basically a spiral design?? Do you have any tips for getting the hang of a spiral? When I look at it, I'm struggling with figuring out where to place the next dot, then the next, etc. It confuses my eyes or something. Anyway, beautiful wine glass. I'll have to check our Dollar General, as that is what I have in my area.
Hi Kara, the bottom pattern on the glass could be a spiral with different colors. Here's a video specifically on the spiral you may find helpful: ruclips.net/video/85HLUqcMNSg/видео.html Glad you liked this project and thanks for watching.
Hermosísimo trabajo!Soy argentina, vivo en Buenos Aires y no sè donde conseguir Enamels glitter ,hasta ahora pinté con Enamels acrylic pero glitter no lo conocīa .Podrias ayudarme?
Hi Mabel, I use the DecoArt Glitter Gloss Enamels. You should be able to find these on Amazon or on the DecoArt website. Hope you are able to find these.
Hi. I use a gloss enamel paint by DecoArt. Use enamels or multi-surface paint and follow manufacturers instructions. DecoArt instructions are: Shake well. Clean surface with alcohol. Apply 1-2 coats with a brush or sponge. Allow to cure 4 days. For a dishwasher-safe finish on oven-safe surfaces, place finished piece in a cool oven, set temperature to 325°F, bake for 30 minutes, then cool with oven door partially open. Not for direct contact with food. Suitable for indoor or outdoor use. Cleans up with soap and water.
Hi Rhonda. I'm using the flat end of crochet hooks and nail dotting stylus. Here are links to my Amazon shop if you would like them. www.amazon.com/shop/sweetwillowdesigns
Hey Maria...I have my glasses and am trying to mark my dots...I marked on the bottom, but you said that it would easily transfer to the top where you start the dotting... but i'm not finding it easy to get the top ones going...I'm at a loss...Help Please
Hi Karen. Hmmm. What I do is place the base of the glass on my marking template and mark the base. Then I turn the glass over so that the lip of the glass is on the marking template and lined up. I then draw an imaginary line up from the marking template to the base of the step and place a mark. I don't put a lot of marks on glass, just enough to get my first row started and then I'm usually ok. I hope that makes sense. Let me know how it goes.

Hello, I just watched the video and what a beautiful piece you created, my only question is do you seal it with anything or leave it just as is?
Hi Dana. I use Decoart Gloss Enamel acrylic paint which is cured in the oven to make it top rack dishwasher safe. No need to seal it once cured.
