Hi al. I just read your description for the first time and found something new about you. I am 16 and have been diagnosed with anxiety. The medication isn't working too well. I dream to have a homestead like you and be able to produce food. Knowing that you have been through the same thing, really makes me have hope that it will get better. Thank you

I was hit by two things today. You must be ambidextrous with all your tools! 🏆And you and Gina work so well together that this shows in your daughter. Olivias unhesitating willingness to pitch in with the chores comes from copying two very good people. Thank you for that, it's a pleasure to see! 💓💛💚💙💜

Al, I noticed a comment in the video where you installed the metal grates in the hay feeders and the concern of their tongues sticking to it in freezing weather. This is a real thing and concern. We did this with our horses and had to remove them. we replaced them with the vinyl lattice and tacked it in place. Worked well. Just a suggestion since we have experienced this issue ourselves. Be Blessed!

I have never commented before, but I have been watching your videos daily for quite a while, and I love them. I am most impressed how your video editing skills have really become excellent. As a retired video editor for a living, I am constantly amazed how you blend your hat cam, tripod cam, and drone cam shots to be matched to make your story come to life every day. Cudos! I am also amazed how different our climates are. We are still setting heat records down here in the Louisiana swamp.

Al, Gina, That woodshed is now a substantial building, that looks great! The mornings are cooling here in Scotland too. More rain today. It's nearly midday and the rain stopped abouf half an hour ago. The chickens were out about 0630 today and it's now time to check them out, do feed and water and change some bedding. I feel you are motoring on nicely and will be well placed for this winter. Regards Stephen.

Gina's facial expression and her body language is so much more relaxed and happy looking since she was able to stop her 9 to 5. Nicely Done. Also, Al, you were right... Gina seems to be getting her SeaLegs. Her grip on the side of the carport was not as white-knuckle as it was on the woodshed section. I love yall a bunch. Thank you so much for your almost daily videos. I know it is a crazy amount of work but it seems to be worth the effort and I and many, many others greatly appreciate it. For the outside hay feeder. Cut a long length of plywood about two and a half feet wide. Place it in the feeder with the bottom next to the new wire and lean it back against the wall and attach top with a few screws. The hay will drop down on this ramp or funnel and hay will always stay at the front while they eat. Love your show.

I love the car port you've added to the wood shed. I also wanted to tell Gina I love her version of making sausage gravy & will be making mine like that as well. Not to be a copy cat, but sprinkling the flour into the sausage then adding the milk, I didn't have any clumping in the gravy. I resorted to using corn starch as my thickener over the years to avoid lumps in my gravy. Now, I can make sausage gravy with flour! Thank you Gina for sharing!

Great work guys! Just a thought Al. I think since you have so much room in the firewood shed and the forks for your tractor that I put firewood on the pallets. When you need to fill up the basement just grab the Kubota and drive a pallet over to the basement door. Or, you could even screw multiple pallets together to build a cube or bin to throw your firewood in and use the same concept. That way wood wouldn’t be falling everywhere when you moved it. Fans from TN!

My goodness - what terrific accomplishments you and your family have done this year!! Awesome - re the apples - perhaps there's another farmer who could use them for their animals. Blessings from the middle of California where it will be at least 88 today...wish we could swap some cool & rain with ya'all!!!!

HAHA 😀! As if anything has stopped you guys! It looks great and I can see Gina's being there is a good help to you, Al. You don't look as tired. Team work is always the best way. Anyway, I can hardly wait to see it finished.
Request: One day when the wood shed is complete, please do a tour of the property including the buildings. Maybe when the leaves change! I miss Maine ... 😔

I really love that quote Mr. Al! It does make sense and that person use to be me, who would "freeze up" and do nothing for fear of failing. Some people, however ARE insane in this area cause they would keep doing the same exact thing over & over & over & over & over & over & over again, and expect different results. I learned this in a seminar. Maybe this was *me* once upon a time, but not any longer. Lolz!!! 😂😅

My cat brought me a few mice this weekend. I thanked him for preparing for the winter. We don't want them in the house. 🐈

Love my 8pm (Australia) fix of LA. Just snuggling down to read for a while before sleep. Lovely way to end my day. Apart from giving apples to pigs are they used for anything else? What kind are they?

You have your outdoor kitchen, goat shed, barn, and wood shed built. Must feel great going into winter! Guess next is the fencing/pasture. All are well built and should last a very long time! :)

Here in Arizona we have lots of citrus trees that fall on the ground and we have to pick them up kinda like those apples. The food banks have people that will come out and pick all the fruit off the tree then the food bank keeps the fruit. You should find out if any one in your area does something similar. That way you can donate all those apples in the beginning of the summer and you won't have as many to pick up.

I am jealous of your cool weather. We are still in the nineties in the daytime. You can build it however you need as long as I can watch it go up, I am good.

Going to be away from the internet for three weeks, and your channel will be the only thing I will miss!! However, when we get back, I am looking forward to a Lumnah Acres binge watching session or two. 💗
