Could put the meat chicken box inside the chicken fence so they will be protected may need to add a little more fence so you can still move them around. I was raised on a tobacco farm we had chickens a milk cow a work horse and mule.I live in the city now but the saying is true you can take the boy out of the country but you can never take the country out of the boy.

I had thought about the chicken tractors inside the fence, too but thought it would take up too much space. Then somebody mentioned he had the fence around the garden to add to the existing one. Good way to introduce the new birds to the others (well except for the meat birds...)

Al, may I suggest putting carpet tack strips around top edge of your chicken tractors with spikes pointing up. This will keep the predators from coming after they get there paws stuck . I used this to keep skunks out of my bee hives and yes it works>

Looking cooler up there in Lincoln! This weekend is looking good for us to cut more wood for the kitchen stove. And time to check the chimneys. You are going to enjoy that wood shed! You have made lots of fine progress since we built our house in 2016. A thermos of coffee would go down well with your construction crew '-). Being native New Hampshire, I enjoy winters, as long as I'm prepared! Nothing better than coffee brewing on our kitchen wood stove, while a blizzard is beating against the windows. Stove keeps me toasty warm , while I'm cooking bacon and eggs...

Gina you were up and going this morning, that siding seems to really be your thing. I just love watching y'all work together. And Al stop drinking all the coffee. Yeah I think you had a coyote trying to get in that chicken tractor. You can set out a couple of snap traps around the tractor as long as you get to them before you let the dogs out in the morning.
I clicked the link on the coffee that y'all get but I didn't see where they sold whole beans, I grind my own.
Thanks for sharing your homestead homestead with us a

I'm in Central Texas, too, and it's 71 degrees this morning. We have also been ultra-dry and our grass is dead. I am ready for cooler weather so we can get more done outside. It'll be October before we cool off, and we never get snow. I can't wait to see you clearing out the snow as those are my favorite videos besides the barn/shed building. Looking good!

When the temp gets to 70° at night in south texas that is cold. It will be thanksgiving b4 frist freeze. Your grass isn't dead just dormant. Put water on it. It will green up.
Or plant winter rye grass your yard will stay green year round. With a little water (NOT much of that in tx in summer. Unless you live east of Interstate 35. (Wet side of state)

Fall, and I suspect Winter as well, is coming early. A friend in central Alabama (3 hrs north of me) posted a pic of a spider lilly that had popped up in her yard. They herald the arrival of Fall. They only last 10 to 14 days, and then they're gone. Normally, they show up at the end of September or the first week of October, so they're a month early. Oh boy!

Much better on the editing. Thanks, Al. I still think you should move the chicken tractor into New Yolk City to prevent the predator(s) from even getting near the meat birds. Is there some reason you can't move the tractor behind the electric fence?

We love watching your family work together. We watch your videos every single day and can hardly wait for the next one to come up- When we start our youtube watching together Clay and I usually always watch you guys first on our big TV we don't always comment but we watch daily. I am going to try and comment daily to help your channel and of course I don't mind watching the ads either as there are always new ads with things we may be interested in learning about :) We love Figero he looks like our cat Charlene. The buildings are coming great and it is our pleasure to see Gina working side by side with you and Olivia. We look forward to the crazy white chicken and what he is up to or watching the goat get milked and that little contraption you are using to milk her. We were touched when we saw Gina and Olivia sewing together. We love watching your family pray together which we believe God is giving you favor with your channel - I (Ruthie) have suffered anxiety in the past and am on the otherside of that so I can appreciate how God uses odd things to open up new dreams for us as your channel is trully a blessing to us. Clay has farmed for about 50 years and you know how these old farmers are they are straight shooters and we both feel you have the best homesteading channel on youtube. You should be a TV series... but hey youtube is better as cable is slowly going away. Back to Clay... Clay will always be looking for your channel first thing in the morning as I start dishes etc.. from a old farmer Al, that is a HUGE compliment as they really know their stuff. Keep branching out and enlarging yourself through Tik Tok, periscope, twitter, etc... (especially Tik-Tok) one thing I have learned in social media... sometimes the first makes it big just because they are the first. You have a beautiful message for people and we wish you all the best. Be blessed and we are keeping you in our prayers - Ruthie Pople :) We love all of you - Al, Gina, Oliva... Figero, Hope, The Crazy Chicken, etc..

No Al! You're not rambling! What you're saying is very important! For me however, I'm disabled and I'm unable to build a homestead. However, I might be able to plant a small garden. It's amazing that very good quality food used to be so "dirt cheap"! And now a meal like that costs a whole day's wages! This is all biblical prophecy gradually coming to life as we know it now. And all these changes through the years have been so subtle that sadly, most people can't even notice them! Stay vigilant, and fear no evil!
God Bless all 3 of you !!!!!!👨‍👩‍👧☕🤓💪💋😇🤗🏡💞🏚🏗🐣🐥💥🐔💨🍳🍽💖🐈💨💟🐖💨❤🐐💨💫🐾🐈😼🐾🐕😼🐾🐕💨🐔💨🐺🐓💨🍎🍅🍆🍉🍇🌺💮🌼👍🙏🙇🕊✌👋

Everything is looking so good! I was thinking that a row of daylillies would look good naturalized alongside the sunny ( driveway side) sections of your rock fences.

I hate giving advice almost as much as wearing "Safety Glasses". But, we are all so very fortunate to have this gift of sight.. So Please Gina, wear some "Safety Glasses"...

74F in Central Texas at 5:55 am...wish it was cooler...but I do enjoy our winters. Brisk and we rarely require nothing more than a spring jacket on the coldest days.

*Lucky you drinking your regular coffee ....... I haven't had regular coffee for over 30 years because I started getting severe migraines and had to stop drinking caffeine for both tea and coffee ....... So now only ever drink decaffeinated tea and coffee! ☕️ 🍪 ☕️ 🍩 ☕️ 🍮 ☕️ 🍦 ☕️ 🍘 ☕️ 🍕 ☕️*

What's funny is, my chickens don't like those nasty horn worms. With the coyotes around I wouldn't let Figaro stay out. We have owls and hawks and I make sure my cats stay in. Please take caution around Figaro. You can tell I am a cat lover. Have a Wonderful & Blessed Day!
