I love that you openly pray over your meals.
This is our favorite channel. You are now gaining about 1,000 subscribers per day...keep doing what you do Lumnah family!
Al watched you rework those feeders. Like the new idea of the metal grate. An even better solution I think would have been to also make the feeder narrower at the bottom so the hay would all be accessible to the goats. As it is now the feeder will fill will hay that they can't reach. Most mangers I've seen have this angle to them. Just a thought. Enjoying your videos and look forward to seeing them every time. Keep up the good job.
How great is that to have a dry barn to work in while its raining? Family time in the kitchen, what a blessing.
Love the sound of rain on a tin roof. Getting lots of things done, Its looking really good keep up the great work and keep the videos coming. THANKS
Another great week of Lumnah videos.Animals, eggs, shed build, car port, cooking, prayer and good food and family. What more can you ask for.Thank you for another week of sharing all you do with us.Bless you all.
Adding the 4x4 panels to the feeders is genius Al! 💭
I am surprised you didn't use your Instant Pot for your beef stew it does a fantastic JOB and I love it for sure.
You two have a real partnership. Parenting, building, cooking, baking, editing and creating Loving Lives! Your family is awesome... Twenty-nine years for my husband and I so we know what it takes to make a really good one.
Nice fix on the hay feeders, that works very well. Your dinner looked delicious. I love the foods we eat mostly in the fall & winter time, stews, chili, soups and hearty casseroles. Thanks for sharing your day. Have a Blessed day.
Margaret Bedwell agreed those are my favorite dinners as well. I’m sick of bbq and salads.
Al I have to say kudos to you for doing all the work on your farm yourself. You don’t get volunteers or friends to do your planting, build your cold room, greenhouse, remodel your kitchen etc for you! Respect! 👍👍👏🏼👏🏼 woot!
Rhonna - l agree - PLUS Al doesn't talk down to us, either.
Oh yum! That beef stew looks amazing!!!! And homemade crescent rolls!😋🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐💜🙏💙
I've noticed it in a couple videos now, your mixer needs some attention/maintenance. A little deconstruction and some food grade grease will quiet it down, protect it from overheating damage and extend the life of it's gears. It would make a great rainy day indoor project, and you could film it and teach everyone.
You need a roof extension over the outside hay feeder so the goats will be able to come out at least that far out on a rainy day.
I'm sure they'd appreciate the protection from snow as well.
Al said on a previous volg that he has plans to cover the whole backside of the barn with a slanted shed roof for the goats to have a dry area and semi-free from snow.
It would cut down on the pee smell inside during the wet and snowy months also.
I would think that if you put a angled floor in them it would bring the uneaten hay towards the front
Exactly what I was thinking!
Oh that's a really good idea.
The old hay would make great mulch on the garden, if you have any fall crops 🙂
Great idea, and the panel was perfect...no waste at all. Stew sounds good and it will warm you up!
I love that Gina gets to be at home with you now. How is Olivia liking school this year?
May you be blessed with a wonderful family weekend.
Hi there. Just wanted to say I love watching your videos and seeing how happy your family is. They bring me a little more hope every time I watch. Keep up the great work God bless your family.
Cooking up a storm on a rainy day...sweet. Seasons change and the colors are glorious. Olivia, you are such a great helper... keep it up.
My grandfather used to cook (boil) a lot of the garden fodder that his pigs were reluctant to eat raw (celery, potatoes, onion skin trimmings, beet greens, etc,) along with other tasty things plus a bit of feed, and once cool enough, serve it in their trough as a mash. They loved having a tasty warm stew!
Another great day on the homestead, minus the rain. Nice job on the hay waste solution. Looks like it's working well. Dinner looked amazing too! Blessings from NE Missouri!
We raised all our children around the dinner table. I’m glad to see a family who eats together at a table and not in front a tv.
I literally laughed out loud when you looked into barn and the goats were all staring back at you! So cute!!
Egg wash would've browned those beautiful crescent rolls. I love your menu planning. Simple and good.
I am addicted to your videos. I stay up until I get to watch you.
I hope this design works but here is another possibility. We use a similar design for our horses, except the grate is put on top of the hay. Then it simply lowers as the hay is eaten. In your case, the goats could still put their heads fully in the feeder but would have to work to get the hay through the grate. An idea worth considering if there is too much hay left at the back of the feeders that the goats can't reach.
Neatly done, Al & Gina! And the stew & crescent rolls sounded yummy! Have a great weekend, folks!
watching Olivia buyer the croissants... She seems to have grown over the summer. Love how she like to feed the animals
Your rolls look awesome. I love beef stew in the cool weather. I always enjoy your cooking and eating dinner segments. I think it’s the reward for working hard all day, coming together as a family and sharing a meal and sharing our day with our loved ones.
How wonderful Gina can be home helping on all projects including yummy looking meals. I can tell Olivia is loving it. God Bless you dear family!
Thankyou for showing such us a wholesome, family endeavor. Heartwarming to watch ya'll working together making the meal. Keep up the good works!
I’m so jealous of your weather. Where I live in North Scottsdale, we haven’t had any rain since May. The wild animals have eaten all of my plants down to nothing. Last year we had so much rain, and we actually got almost a foot of snow in the winter. This summer has been mostly watching wildfires from my porch.
I really love to see how much smaller Moose is compared to his ladies. Lol I am still partial to Hope as my favorite goat, she's got so much personality and is super sweet. I'm also so impressed with the way you guys come up with creative and low cost solutions to things like this lowering hay waste project! I can't believe that Little Man is almost bigger than Hope already.
"Just needed some Persuasion," LOL! You're amazing, Al, you cook, too! What I wouldn't give for your countertop!
He has videos on the build of that cement countertop... amazing, I love it too!
@@LiberLady Here is video part 1. l had forgotten the goatee. ruclips.net/video/Pcr0vdPzXvY/видео.html
You guys rock, you guys means you two, daughter, cat & dogs. Give me a call when the stew is ready. We love beef stew.
That looks sooo good my mouth turned into a waterfall when she pulled the lid off!!! I didnt expect it to look like that.
LOL Today I cooked a pot of beef stew, turned the computer on & here you are doing the same. For you, the weather is getting cooler, and for me the weather is staying the same here in Thailand.
Nice to see another cooking video. That is a LOT of crescent rolls. Looks great. I just love your kitchen.
You're killing me Al! I thought there was going to be a surprise today. Dinner looked delicious ❣❣
Great job on the hay feeders. The boys are always chillaxing, they seem well settled in. I haven't been watching you all for all that long but it looks like Olivia has grown a foot.
Quite jealous of your weather this morning it started out at 85 degrees with 80% relative humidity, it was 97 degrees by noon, heat index 107 in the shade. Brisk mornings don't happen for us until November.
Great video thanks for sharing your homestead with us,
Jimmy
Sounds like Phoenix!
We purchased a metal one for power goats with this exact same design. Does a great job keeping them from just pulling it out randomly and it has her bottom that holds their extra goodies and extra hay. I love do-it-yourself stuff but no need to reinvent the wheel.
I love the 'boys' ... they are so chill
The sped up pieces are funny! You are ingenious. You don’t waste anything! I really enjoy watching you. You’re a lovely family.🤟🏻. LOVE the music while you were preparing dinner! Yay!
Looks like a very productive day ! God bless you all !
Dinner locked amazing having one of those days here dark, chilly, rainy. Have a great weekend.
Good morning folks! I'm getting my Lumnah fix early today! Sweet!
Now I am craving Beef Stew!!
Looked delicious!!
Time to make some.
@@LumnahAcres Still in the 90's here during the day. Good to see the hint of fall colors today. NC here.
@@glendaruff125, I am NC too and although it looks delish, I'm with you on waiting a bit for soups and stews! 😊
I love to see how everybody works together even with dinner everyone had a hand in making the rolls
Love watching you and your sweet family...Keep up the great work...Your farm and food looks wonderful..God Bless❤
Red leaves already! That 'wasted' hay will do wonders for your garden. Meat birds look about ready. Now to look up a recipe for those crescent rolls. Yum.
There is a link to the cookbook in the description
Your videos are the sunshine in my mornings so I save some of one or two to watch on Sunday and Wednesday, but since you had a Wednesday one this week I have more to watch today Sunday
. Thank you both again and again 💕💕
Genious!!! Love the feeder fix. Way to think outside the box.
Leaves are changing down here too, even noticed a few on the ground this morning. We use a wire hamper for the goats hay feeder, was cheap and easy to install. I really like the tractor port......
That stew looked amazing, and those homemade croissants had my mouth watering. Keep on homesteading.
Congratulations on all your accomplishments this summer!
🎉Good job!🎉🎈🎉
I think the reason that they did not waste in the old feeder was because they left their heads in it the whole time they were eating. I think the new feeders were not deep enough for them to put their whole head in and still see out the other side. Like it is too close to the wall. I hope the wire helps.
I thought the same thing when they 1st built them.
I think that they also might be so used to eating in the natural head down position in the old feeder that they are pulling it out so they can drop their heads while they eat.
You guys are hard workers.. great job. Love watching. Nancy from Canada
Oh my gosh... those rolls are beautiful. I can't wait to try them. Thanks!!!
You are good at recycling everything. Wish we had some rain.
Great video. Not sure which I enjoy more; the farm growing/improving or the cooking videos. Both inspire me. Keep it up.
Save the old hay that the goats waste and feed it to the pigs
I grew up on Long Island.I love the fall and winter and spring.
I love no-waste feeders! I use the 2 x 4 field fencing that I had purposely left over from fencing.
Projects even during rain. I applaud your gumption as I would feel too lazy. What spices did Gina use for the second set of crescent rolls? They turned out looking so good. And don't get me started on the beef stew. Oh my goodness, my mouth was watering. Bless you all.
Any chance Gina you’d share the stew recipe and croissant recipe, please? Looked amazing!!
Cookbook link in description for the crescent rolls
Recovering Soul so you have to purchase the cookbook for a recipe?
Al and Gina, once again another great job on the video. I look forward to watching every morning. Thanks.
While the old cuts seem to go out of fashion I still get ox tail and give it 24hours in the slow cooker to make the most delicious, unctuous stew packed with flavour from the bones just what you need on a cold day.
Love your cooking segments . I ordered that cook book that you mentioned . Not only that because of you using the Instant Pot so much I picked one up today . I was lucky . Bought it for $70 Canadian on sale . Now I just have to learn how to use it . Wish it wasn't raining so you could continue your car port / tractor port build . I look forward to watching your videos . I'm up at 6 in the morning waiting for them to show up . LOL
Henry - the first thing my daughter did with her IP was make boiled eggs ... shells slip off like greased lightning.
OK . Thanks . I will try it .
Loved watching all the smarts you've employed around your homestead, and look forward to watching as days unfold there. (Just subscribed). God bless your Homestead and everything with feet! : )
J J - OMG you've got some great video-watching ahead. Watching Al build anything is hypnotic. My fav's: building the kitchen island - NYC - Making a wooden spoon.
Up early this morning Al, you’d think you were some kind of productive farmer or something 😂 Love the video bro!
I haven't even had breakfast yet and now I'm ready for supper, thanks a lot. HaHa. It all looks so good. God Bless
Great looking beef stew. Have a blessed weekend Lumnah's.
John Austin Looking forward to cooler weather for stews and soups, pot roasts and such. 👍
That's a great idea!
I love to see you two back in the kitchen.
Enjoy your hot meal.
Pretty chilly here this morning too!
Have a great weekend.
Jo Jo in VT
Great improvements Al & Gina. Shavings! So happy to see them and they will work for you so well! Pallet racking racks are some sturdy steel for sure and you must have loved working inside! 👍🌱🏡❣️
I don't know if your feed store carries it, but if they do, get a bag of dehydrated sugar best pulp. It is left from the sugar extraction process and can be added to feed and grain to increase pallet ability and caloric content.
Goooood morning!! Hope y'all have a blessed and beautiful weekend!!⚘
Good morning Al, Gina and Olivia. Good upcycling of the palette material. I hope the holes are large enough. This will also help keep next year's kids from climbing in the hay rack.
The stew looks great. Have a nice weekend.
A 'Bakers Doen' of Eggs today. Like the idea of the wire in teh hay feeders. Love beef Stew weather.
Hey Al, great idea for the goat feeder, it will be interesting to see if they will be able to get to the last of the hay as it empties. If they can't you could put a board as a false bottom all the way across at a 45 to the back wall, maybe sand it a little smoother than rough sawn, that way the hay will always slide down to the front of the cage where they can reach it and hopefully eat it till it's all gone.
I'm jealous of your weather it's still 104 degrees here in Mesa where Hope is from
Beef stew...Yummy!! I'm waiting for our weather to cool down ,it been in the 80's, so I can make stew.
The goat seem to have grown-up over night...
Wow! Your meat birds are big too!
Thank you for sharing your journey.
God bless.
Hope, you want the “goat pro” or the drill? Lolz, they’re so cute, smart idea using the grate in those feeders, every penny saved counts✌🏼🤟🏼🤞🏼
The stew and fresh bread look sooooo good, but its 96 with 105 heat index here in Arkansas today!
Great improvement on the feeders.
So glad you have begun saying gall is on thr way rathet thsn winter. Fall is just right. Or at least it used to be. We will see what it brings this year.😁
Morning Al and Gina.
Stews 👍.
Hope that works for the feeders. Have a wonderful weekend.
Jill Winger has some amazing and simple recipes,...oh, and did I say YUMMY!! Love the idea cattle panel/mesh for the hayfeeder. That's one I'm going to remember. It's a carport..."happy wife, happy life"...
You always have great ideas! The stew and rolls made me hungry 😉👍🏻😁
Good mornin New Yolk City .... cool here in Pennsyltucky (50's) .... no rain, but the sound of your rain is making me sleepy ~8^) Hope you have a nice weekend AL, Gina & mini-me 23:44 Olivia. Take care.
Great job guys!! Food looked awesome.
Loved the video! Hope the feeders work! The beef stew and rolls really looked yummy 😋! Have a great weekend!💕
I don't know if they do it where you are but in California when I was a kid we used to pick up old marked up veggies and fruit from the grocery stores for free. You might look into that and see. It's an extremely economical way to raise animals especially pigs. That's what we were raising.
I'm in Arizona and volunteer at a food bank. That's a great spot for many small farmers/ranchers to claim food that is considered not fit for human consumption. It's a win win for everybody. The food doesn't end up in a landfill and the locals get free animal feed.
@@elkhunter8664 IKR. It's the circle of life rather than the circle of waste.
Yea, you used my idea! I knew it would work great. Now add them to the original hay feeder will keep the goats out of it. 😊
THAT STEW LOOK SO GOOD
Aha! I remember advising the welded mesh tip a while back! Always worked well for us. 👍🏻
Al seems to have subscribers with lots of experienced-based suggestions.
Great idea Al with the goats feeders.
That stew looks absolutely delicious. I’ll give it a go. Many thanks to you all for your excellent videos.
I think the wiring on the feeders should work well and the goats don't seem to mind it either, so that is a good thing. Yes, fall/winter is a great time for all those comfort foods and beef stew is one of my favorites. Love having those nice warm comfort foods to warm the soul!. Looking forward to more work being done on the woodshed. We are cool here too, but not quite as cool as you guys. We are low 60's in the mornings and today is cloudy from hurricane Dorian. So blessed that all we have are clouds. My prayers are with those that have been in the path of this awful storm.
Love your vlogs! Will buy a hoodie, hat and some shirts. You and your whole family, including the animals are fun to watch!
Those crescent rolls looked easy and good! I think i have a Prarie Woman cookbook somewhere. Most of my books are packed, pending a move. Stew is one of my favorites, too. I like to cook things that need a good bit of chopping slicing, and stirring.. lol
Moose is the Man! Moose says it is pouring rain, too much and it will be over my little head!
