Yay Gina is home! This is amazing!!!! My mother used to work and eventually stayed home as she had more kids and my dad started working/ earning more.
I will never forget how much more loving and stable my home was, when my mom stayed home. She is the foundation of our family! So I'm happy Gina can do that now for Lumnah Acres!!

You guy's are delightful to watch, entertaining, and to be quite honest it's very relaxing for us. After a long day at work it's wonderful to come home, eat dinner and watch the dynamics of your family and farm, without much in the way of drama! You post about once a day and that gives us the relaxation and decompression we need. Keep up the excellent work!

Y'all are my number one channel to watch. Your description of your cool mornings are such a blessing and give me hope that we will soon be out of our days of 100 degrees. Weatherperson just informed us that we will have our 40th Central Texas 100+ day today. Average is 15 per year but last two and this one have been over 40. Anyhoo, so glad y'all are able to both be home and work on the homestead together. We retired as early as possible from teaching (52) and enjoy our days of being able to be less frantic in trying to get all planned chores done per day. Also, you will have more time to enjoy the seasons and holidays as you bless us with your channel journal. Your channel should be the number one channels for watching DIY projects that are well planned for time, weather, need and money costs. We actually bought a Dewalt combo pack similar to yours you got a year or so ago. Not sure if I could have convinced my husband if I hadn't had him watch your videos where you revealed it and demonstrated how good they are. I'm still not a saw person, but all the others I've use. I usually tell him I'm going to watch Al, but now It will be the Al and Jeana (Gina ?) Show. Take care, blessings to your family and peace be with you. Joy Giles

No more stress of having to deal with outfits for work or setting up appointments or driving through the snow covered roads to get to work and then back home. You now get to enjoy your home everyday, all day. And you get all the animal love morning, noon, and night time. You’re retired but in excellent health and youth, the best of both worlds. You are all going to enjoy this new life so much as there is nothing better than having mom home all the time. You’ll be outside working and enjoying those wonderful colors of fall, the geese flying south, the Indian summers......I could go on and on but I know from the smile on your face you are over the moon happy and so is Al and Olivia and all the animals. Al, I think you should have some horizontal elements extending into the soil beside the wall to resist the pressure of the soil against the wall. Another idea I had is to basically lay a stone retaining wall beside the wood one if you could somehow find some stones. I hope there is someone more knowledgeable that can comment.

I would have stapled a tyvec sheet to the bottom of the beams before backfilling to keep the water way from the 4x4 beams

There’s nothing like a good foundation - applies to life as well as the garage on the end of the wood store! It’s lovely that Gina is now able to spend more time at the homestead, she is such a great help and asset to you Al. May God richly bless you and your family.

Take it leave it, its just advice from a stranger, but if its your first time with soap: make a couple simple batches (just one kind of oil) first. Then a couple with more than one kind of oils, then do a milk soap. They can be a bit touchy and it helps to have a "feel" for how soap is doing, its not just a follow the recipie kind of thing due to humidity, temp etc. I'm sure you are going to do really well. You kids are amazing at every new thing you do!!!!

Gina, I love watching you working along side Al and I agree with Anne about not having to justify yourself or the decisions you guys make as a couple. You both are making a beautiful home together and raising a wonderful daughter who is kind, beautiful and smart. I look forward to seeing you first thing in the morning, starts my day off nicely.

great Gina that you will be able to stay home now, with both of you now working the homestead full time, it will take pressure off of each of you, and allow for more family time. I am sure once you start making goat milk soap you will enjoy it and come up with some creative soaps. I love how Figaro is always popping up to check on his people. Love that a viewer sent you a licensed plate for CWC memorial. Blessings!

We are so happy for you both. There is nothing like being your own boss and providing for you family from your own homestead. I find I work harder now then I ever did for anyone else except now my family reaps all the benefits and not some company. Also our son always has me home for his needs. Blessings.

I Like the sound of the soap making.
Just think next years veg garden could be double the size and growing your own healthy produce. Nothing tastes quite as good as something you raised or made yourself.
