Hi James, used to drive a 6610 with a loader every day it also had a bit of rot around the seat until one day I drove into the silage pit face and nearly went through the windscreen so the next couple of hours was spent cutting the floor out and welding in a new piece and then finishing feeding the cows and they say that mf 690’s rust Ap can fords weren’t much better.😂👍
I laughed more than i should when you did the dipstick trick! 🤣🤣 A mate had an old ford tractor years ago... he'd left the key at home and where it was the farmer who owned the field was with us.... he went, just use the dipstick. We both laughed at him and he went try it.. only worked! 🤣🤣 Still makes me giggle to this day!
Hi James + Mike, This old tractor will be good as new when Mike gets his hands on it didn't know it had a 4-litre engine that is a big lump for a four cylinder. As always a great video catch you soon Take care
the main problem with those fords back in the day was a porous block engine (water getting in with the oil) . we had a little 3610 4wd that one had a lambourne cab ........that one rotted out badly.........everything seemed to rust a lot back in the 80's
Would like to see some more how to guides from Mike. With narration from James..... And for comedy purposes ole' Josh passing through and "crop dusting" the work environment 😂😂
No problem theres a big market here for vintage tractors alot lads want what used to be in the yard as a child a jd 3350 in very good order theres prices of mid 20s here to a stunning tractor been priced around 30k
not the best to rev a engine that's not been started for 4 months. the hr clock might not of been changed for 2000/3000 hrs and might of only been replaced a few weeks before the person wants to sell it so hrs could be miles out when you said 4500hrs
If Mike’s happy to rev the tractor when first started then it’s fine by me. What this chap hasn’t worked on or seen ain’t worth knowing. They don’t make them like that anymore, that’s for sure. Good point about the hours, but that’s all we know.

There were four types of cab in the UK (LP,AP, Super Q and Duncan (optional)) .The AP cab was manufactured by Sekura.
Yes, you’re right. And the Super Q is a much better looking cab!

Yes you’re right, and much better looking. The loader is not great but serviceable for someone as you say 👍🏼
Rust is expected but that is in good nick for the age👍
Thanks Nev 👍🏼

@@finditfixitfarmit well it don't say much then when an engine has been stood for 4 months to start and rev it says it all.
