Brings back memories learning how to drive a tractor on fordson n ,and being set free at age 9 to spread muck on one of the away fields, thanks for a great video
From a video perspective, I didn't know which way to point the camera next! A very enjoyable afternoon. I'm just watching your video of things to fix. Plenty of content in there 🤣
Great watching old machinery doing what it was designed to do. The vid also shows the broad knowledge base that the average farmer needed to keep the show on the road!
Great video and as others have said great to see younger guys working these older bits of kit, it does make me wonder how the majority of the modern turn key, vario transition, GPS Autosteer, air con cab operators would cope if they were asked to go back a few decades and do a day of working these vintage machines
Excellent video to start the new year! Steve certainly has a great collection of working vintage tractors and machinery! Great to see it all being put to good use, despite the mucky conditions! Great effort by all concerned!!
i love looking at old photos of my grandad on his petrol e27n major with a reaper binder behind it, seeing those tractors actually working is also really cool!
This is amazing. I would love one of these spreaders. To see 3 in action has made my day. You could see a farm running older tractors having all these mechanical issues back in the day and why everyone moved towards diesel
Another excellent video, thank you Brian. Perfect commentary, informative and sympathetic. Good to see the "Real World" portrayed. Thanks to Steve and his helpers.
Excellent video and a shame that annoying breakdowns made it hard work, but at least Steve has plenty of tractors to fall back upon! He now has plenty of extra jobs to do in his workshop! It has to be said that the spreaders appeared to work faultlessly with no breaking chains! Well done Steve and his team for organising such a fascinating event!
Great video a lot of hard work by Steve trying to keep everything going and all his helpers. Love to see the old tvo tractor's going and the smell of them but it just goes to show what a Revolution the diesel Major was back in the day. Great filmed video Brian always very entertaining thank you 👌👍
Always an entertaining video 👍 the trials and tribulations of old equipment 🙄😕😂 probably find on another day they would all have run perfectly with no issues 🤔 Steve with his engineering experience and knowledge will soon have them back in shape I'm sure 💪👌
That looked a fun, if not slightly annoying with the breakdowns but guess that’s why where’s backups! Make me appreciate my old Sanderson, mb trac and 10t spreader 😆😊
father-in-law told me that these muck spreaders had a habit of braking floor chains, if this happened it was "back" to the gripe to empty the speader !!
@@Casterton-Vintage agreed, but never the less it was fun the watch thanks as u say, we r glad to see times have moved on and should count our blessings. i am afraid modern kit has problems too and often can't be fixed in house or in the shed ! thanks again for another look back into yesteryear
I had one of the green Fordsons. Anyone that says "the good old days" never had to work with them. Winters day, handle start, no clutch Oil too thick, difficult to manage.
eh bah gum when i were a nipper it were hos n cart pitch fork staight out et trailer we hos just mekin is own way along we out no bugger leading im . These tactery things never wok reet anyhow
A total shambles. An afternoon driving tractors all over the place making a total mess in the mud What next.? what about using a wheelbarrow and a muck fork. far more efficient.

Being trusted with a tractor at a very young age is something we never forget. Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks.
Very well done, things don't always go as planned and you made it look a lot better than it was thanks

It ws good to see some youth involved in working these fine old tractors. It looked like the bed-chains held up too.👍
That's what we need, youth and enthusiasm in combination.
agrred
The never ending issues of spark on those old magnetos. A great reminder of why farmers embraced diesel tractors with open arms.
Well said.

They would have more appreciation for GPS for sure!

Happy new year!
Nice to see you enjoying your self's on a cold day
😊
An amazing video love all the tractors. Steve had his hands full😢. Well done you for your dedication 👏
Thanks 👍

Old photos are great to have. Enjoy. Thanks for your support.

It was defiantly a day to remember. Diesel was the only way to go in the end.
Another excellent video, thank you Brian.
Perfect commentary, informative and sympathetic. Good to see the "Real World" portrayed.
Thanks to Steve and his helpers.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks.
Looks like you had an eventful, but enjoyable time - thanks for sharing.
And Steve is going to be busy fixing the casualties...
Yes, Steve now has an even longer list than before!
A grand day out with all seeming to have fun. Another great video. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks.
Great video , saved it for another look 👍🏴
Awesome, thank you!
And again a very enjoyable video to watch. Love those old machines, good that there are people keeping these machines in working condition.👍
Many thanks!
Just found this channel, wow I’m glad I did. Fantastic 😊
Welcome aboard! There a lot of videos to get through and I usually post one each week.
@ thank you, will keep me quiet I’m sure 👌 😊😊
An interesting Video Of boys with their toys making a mud bath. I admire the perseverance of the Lads
🤣👍
Great fun muck spreading good job the diesel major turned up great tractors all ways my favourite ! Great video again !
Thanks.
Thanks again for another wonderful video. Poetry in motion. (Well almost) 😊 it’s what makes our hobby/passion more exciting a few breakdowns.

That brought back memories I learnt to drive on a super major.
A real classic. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Farm Better, Farm Faster, Farm Ferguson 😁 PS I do love a good standard N
I'm sure Steve has a Ferguson tucked away in reserve somewhere 😂
I love it, s*** flinging matches to go with ploughing matches
It could be the next big thing 🤣
@@Casterton-Vintage Have to be at least 2 classes - rear & side discharge.
Thank You For That Superb Video
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks

It was quite a cold day which didn't help. Steve will have them sorted but, like me, his list doesn't get any shorter.
Rumour has it they are still going at it
Not with a Fordson 🤣
Oh what fun! 😁
👍
One of the best laughs I have had for ages 😀
it is "classic day" for sure
👍
This video may have been about spreading 💩 but the content only spreads joy for those interested
Thanks for another great video
Geoff
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks.

The Sanderson and MB at work would make a great video 😊
Used to spread muck just like this. TVO Major but David Brown Cropmaster pulling the spreader.
Great memory to have. It would have made a good video! 😊
The emergency diesel major is the only one worth using lol
That's progress for you 😂
P6 hero of the day
Yes, the P6 was the star attraction. It's difficult to imagine how they managed without live hydraulics though!
@Casterton-Vintage amazing the farming progress, possibly a little too far in some respect 👍
father-in-law told me that these muck spreaders had a habit of braking floor chains, if this happened it was "back" to the gripe to empty the speader !!
That was the problem expected on this occasion but the spreaders turned out to be the least of the problem!
@@Casterton-Vintage agreed, but never the less it was fun the watch thanks

Those first fork drops need to go into the spreader as low down and gentle as is possible to avoid a banana floor and bed chains that run well .
Good point.
going back to former days, before this, it was the "gripe" [hand fork]
but, i would't like to go back to this tackle !
A hand fork was maybe okay when there were plenty of people that wanted to work one, but time marches on.
Come back Dobin all is forgiven 😂
🐎 🐴
I think it was Dobbin's output they were disposing of ! 🤣
@Casterton-Vintage Back in the day, it certainly made a perkins diesel conversion pack look attractive

Looks like they want to throw away them old tractors and buy something a lot newer.
Good plan!
Sommats like a Massey 165 or a David Brown 990 or a John Deere 1130, you know them modern things with cabs on.
Not good on the worm gear towing fordson n
That's right but do you know of one failing?
@ very true I’m still not brave enough to find it
