He has convinced himself that everything he says is interesting. If he had any friends they would tell him to cut the crap. Now there is no one to put him straight.

If that were true, and they would really be getting the recognition they deserved, he'd openly be shouting them out now, right here. These are unpaid volunteers supposedly doing this just because they like Phil's kahntent - the least he could do is name them upfront for even taking the time to consider doing this.

People step in and do the lion share of the work for him, sacrifice their time (free of charge), while he collects all the profit. If he's truly learned and changed after all these years, he'd compensate the people putting in all of this work. 13:50 again, least amount of work. If the age of the hard drive was a problem, he could have gone to Best Buy (or, let's face it, with this guy, Amazon) and bought a newer hard drive, then transfer the contents of the old drive to the newer one. Could have gotten one with USB3.0, maybe even USB-C, higher capacity, or hell, an external SSD. That would make things much faster.
But what am I saying? Not only would that take time and effort, but it would require actually spending money on the business, all things DSP is clinically allergic to doing.

    • @TheModelGamer
      @TheModelGamer 9 месяцев назад +1

23:43 it's also funny, and you didn't really touch on this, how Phil thinks the law works. He claims the laws changed. They did not.
For those who don't know, technically speaking, ANY gameplay footage posted CAN be flagged for copyright. Companies initially DID make claims, LEGITIMATE claims. Over time, they received so much backlash that they decided not to fight it. And it wound up working out more in their favor, as these gameplay segments led to more sales.
Now that the REAL history lesson is over, what Phil doesn't realize is that the claim from 13 years ago IS legitimate. Technically, SquareEnix could get a bug up their butt and claim every video of every one of their games. Just because they DON'T doesn't mean the laws changed.
Also, the CORRECT way around these issues is to dispute and appeal. I get claims all the time on my videos. Music claims. Video claims. I file disputes and occasionally an appeal and guess what? The companies will usually drop it. But that requires actual effort and work, which Phil won't do. He would actually need to research specifically how his video fits into the fair use exception. But researching, then disputing...that all takes time. And Phil hates spending time doing ANYTHING that doesn't involve pulling Hogans or exerting control over a group of dents.

Hi Atlus, The lack of IT knowledge this guy has is astounding. The uploading and downloading method that Phil has been bagging about has been around for quite a bit now. Phil’s problem is that he has an ancient computer (by modern standards) that just can’t handle the bottleneck on the I/O side. In a modern computer, with a decent network card, sending multiple files goes something like this:
    1. Count the number of file in the out queue.
    2. Get a handle for each
    3. Open a port for each
    4. Send each to (most likely) it’s own thread
    5. Toss it in the background and fugget aboutit.
This is a far more efficient method of multiple file transfer. In a modern computer there is enough ooomph to service the transfers and let you go back to what you were doing with hardly any notice. Phil’s just don’t have the grunt.
I think that it may be possible for Phil to petition the developers at RUclips to insert some code into the process to detect Phil’s skanky computer and revert to tin cans and strings to effect a single file transfer.
    Dan

That said, there needs to be some kind of passion for what you're making, or at least some kind of care put into it. Even if it's solely to get the most out of every video. He has to hand deliver each mb to the server personally dood

The cool thing about old completed series is you can binge them if you want. Releasing them slowly piece by piece take away a lot of the appeal.

DSP doesnt care about feedback. He uses it as a basis to make a video stating why he cant or wont do that, then call people stupid for even bothering. I would stay away from DSP as much as possible.

Yes, i love the new editing with the glitch pop-in!
Also, maybe the ad revenue could help him beg less... maybe. Probably not but it could potentially do *something* at the very least.

Grown man complains about batch processing, news at 11. Batch processing is good if your PC isn't a literal potato.

As a visual-style viewer I'm loving the Phil freeze-frames. Oddly-sampled photos of Phil and his oddly-shaped head... hands ... eyes...

So... There are two "curated" videos of FF 13 on that channel now, and my God, they're so bad. It's disgusting that someone is so money hungry to this extent...

Keep in mind he doesn't know how to transfer video unless he's uploading it to RUclips. He couldn't even give Slayer a copy of his private reacts on Dropbox.

He’s going to ask for too much soon, like the teenager that asked for $ since his free time was used for shorts, dsp will keep asking dents to do the work. Derich will learn how to edit if dsp badgers him to help haha
