    Love these in-depth comparisons between all the models!
    I'm mostly on groomers right now but was looking for an all-mountain/freeride do-it-all kind of setup. I currently ride a GNU Money 152 with Vans Aura Pro size 8. I'm having trouble deciding between the Force, Atlas, and Stratas. Thanks!

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад +1

      Many thanks I would go either Force or Strata (my favorite for the Money) because you don't need much binding.

    thanks for the great review - very informative! i was thinking about to go for the atlas pro or the normal atlas. I am looking for a "powder binding" for my Jones Flagship. I dont go for big jumps. Only riding in powder or next to the prepared slope (or in the forest next to the slopes). So the focus is definitly more riding then jumping. The price difference is really crazy between the normal atlas and the pro and thats what makes me thiking. Whats your recommdation? Is the difference really big between the pro and the normal atlas (except the price)?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад +3

      You can't really go wrong with the Atlas. Especially if you aren't always riding in clean conditions. I would only go Atlas pro if you are willing to compromise a smoother ride in all conditions for more response.

    I have a yes hybrid( i love) and capita a kazu(haven't ridden yet). I currently ride stratas but thought I might want something a little stiffer for the kazu or that I can use for both. I'm between the atlas and the katanas. Which would you recommend as a single binding for both. Or should I stick with the stratas? Thanks!

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад +2

      The Kazu will be a nice compliment to the Hybrid. Very different ride. The Atlas will work really well with the Kazu and the Hybrid. So would the Katana's. They are similar in a lot of ways. I think the Katana has more versatility because of the adjustable ankle strap angles to get more or less response. You also have an equally damp but more shock absorbent ride compared to the Atlas. You do have a more reliable binding with the Atlas (less parts) so it really comes down to which one calls to you. I personally ride the Atlas but I would have a very beautiful life if I was using the Katana. That is an excellent binding. I'm thinking Strata and Katana on the Hybrid just cuz it likes a more responsive binding. So Strata on the Kazu but the Atlas and Katana would work really well with the Kazu too.

    Thanks for the review, I have the 21-22 Atlas and ordered the 22-23 Atlas Pro for a new board. Do you see any problems with the forward lean adjuster on the new models ?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад +2

      Sorry I didn't really get to into that on the vid. Check the review on the site. I say I don't like the new FLAD as much as the old one and I'm not sure about long term reliability. I think it should be ok if you set it and forget it. However if you are constantly changing your forward lean I like the older FLAD better.

    Great feedback on the difference between the models.
    I'm considering grabbing the base model Atlas, but I would also love a second opinion. I ride a Yes Typo 152 and Thirtytwo TM-Three boot. I am definitely an all-mountain rider who enjoys groomers and being playful on and off-piste, going off-piste when conditions allow for it, and powder tree lines when possible. I can charge and bomb hills when needed, but that is not the priority. Any thoughts on whether the Atlas is the binding for someone that only wants one binding? Or other recommendations? Thanks for the work that goes into these reviews.

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  11 месяцев назад

      Many thanks. I would not go Atlas Pro or FC. I think you would be more than fine with the Atlas. That is what I ride and I prefer it over the two higher end models. Mainly because it handles uneven snow so much better. I think you could easily go with the Union Force or Force Classic if you want a little less chatter absorption/dampness but better shock absorption.

    • @Phsiris01
      @Phsiris01 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@thegoodridesnow Thanks for the precise reply. The Atlas is probably the go. I thought about the Union Force, but your comment about the Force having less chatter absorption is the opposite of what I would want or need. I live in Australia and the snow here is quite often absolutely rubbish and groomers don't stay nice for very long.

    Hello, thanks you very much for that great work and review ! I have an old Nitro Suprateam 156 from 2006 and I want to change the bindings : I have been snowboarding for 30 years and it's for carving on ski slopes, speed and all-moutain/freeride sessions (I have another board for freestyle sessions) and I still don't know what to choose beteween the Atlas (around 250 euros) and the Force (arounds 205 euros at the moment in french shops) ?! Thank you in advance and congrats for the video 🙂

      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад

      Many thanks! I would get the Atlas if you want a more damp ride that holds better on a carve. I'd get the Force if you want more shock absorption. The Force is Foam and the Atlas is more rubber in the heel. Both are great bindings. Response and adjustability is pretty comparable so it comes down mostly to that.

I was thinking about trying Union bindings, either atlas series or falcor. How do they feel compare to cartel X? • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад

      No problem. They are both more adjustable and more responsive. Atlas has less shock absorption but more dampness and a touch more response. Falcor is a little less responsive but not by much, has an easier flex underfoot, less dampness and has softer padding for low speed shock absorption.

    I just got a used pair for cheap and threw them on my shadowban. Loving them so far but I’m a gear nerd. Looking at the Rome cleaver/katana and bataleon astros(I wish you can test these) too. I love the response of the atlas and don’t find them too stiff at all.

      Adjustability, versatility, chatter absorption/dampness and response. I do wish they had more shock absorption though. The Cleaver and Katana are two excellent bindings as well and if you want the best in shock absorption they are at the top. Haven't tried the Astro's but looks like they have the same pads as Rome so they should be pretty good too but can't really speak to anything else about the binding unless I try it.

      Happy to help. Well the Mega Merc has a pretty poppy, centered mountain freestyle kind of feel but its not a quick turner. You have to decide between a better/less fatiguing ride in uneven snow with the Atlas vs. a little more response with the Atlas Pro.

      Force is better if you ride a lot of park. But if you ride mir powder the atlas is better

    • @thegoodridesnow

      No. Not at all. Davey prefers the Force better because it has EVA foam vs. rubber for easier shock absorption vs. the rubber on the Atlas which dampens up the board better but absorbs less shock. Response is very similar and it really comes down to personal preference. Both are excellent all mountain to freeride bindings.

    • @awiegwa

      Atlas is king in powder - there's just some forgiveness in powder where you don't get dumped off your board if you pressured the highback too much and yet it carves like a demon on groomers. So its really good for stiff boards that are good in powder.
