    I ride the Large Atlas Pro, on a 155 T Rice pro. Performance machine! Atlas Pros feel great! Stable Stiffer Playful Responsive Solid. I like the straps on the Atlas Pros better. The base plat material is more hard and sleek. I think they are 10g lighter then the Atlas. It comes down to personal preference. The Atlas Pros are bit more rigid, slightly less damp and a touch more responsive then the Atlas. The Good Ride Review was spot on. Thanks Good Ride! I owned the Atlas the past three seasons, they worked great! The CHOICE is YOURS.

    Hi James, thank for all the great reviews you, and The Good Ride team do. I have been on the Burton Cartel X for a few years. No complaints really, but now I have a Amlid Surfari 161, and the reference stance is 23 inches wide, I normally ride a 22 or 21 1/2-inch width. Would a Union binding be able to mount in the 23-inch reference stance holes, and pull them in equally to the width I am looking for?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад

      Thanks for the good words. Yes you can get about any stance width you want with Union. You would be able to slide it in from reference or go one inside reference and slide it out. I love Burton bindings and owned many over the years but the deal breaker for me is no stance width adjustability with the Re:Flex Discs.

    I have a falcor set if you adjust it forward 1 notch its super responsive on my Kessler Cross

    I really appreciate your unbiased reviews and detailed explanations! Which binding would you choose for mainly freeriding and groomers and a little hits and jumps? At the moment, I have my sights set on the Burton Cartel X, Genesis or Union Atlas. I checked the highback of the Atlas and it isn't padded at all. I used to ride with the Union Falcor from 2019, but the 'Y' broke and all 4 buckles didn't even last season. So, I'm not 100% sure to get another Union binding.

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад +2

      Thanks. It depends on what you are into. The Falcor Highback is nothing like the Atlas or the Force which I would also recommend so I wouldn't worry about what you experienced with the Falcor. Union is more responsive than Burton and has more adjustability. Go Force if you want more shock absorption and go Atlas if you want something more damp. There is some padding but its just a little lower down but not that there was much on the 2022 Atlas either. The padding also doesn't wear away over time either. The Cartel X is a great choice too. So is the Genesis. Go Burton if you want melower/smoother response with a more cushy ride. I would also add the 2022 or later Rome Katana in the mix if you want an adjustable ankle strap angle for more or less response. Very damp, shock absorbent and a great feeling binding.

    I’ve got a pair of Rome Katana that also you recommended to me (and they are AMAZING, so thank you 🙏🏻) and I’m finding some responsive bindings to add to my quiver for my freeride board like the Orca and the Korua Dart, so that the quest, is they worth the difference in price with atlas? Or maybe you have Some Rome bindings to advise to me? Thank you again

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад

      Great to hear. Those Katanas can be very responsive if you adjust the ankle strap up a bit. I think you can match the Atlas Pro no prroblem or even surpass it. If you want a stiffer high back and a little more response than the Katana the Rome Cleaver could work. If you want to go Union I'd just go with the Atlas as it's more damp than the Pro and almost as responsive. I really enjoy my Atlas on the Orca and Dart. I think the Cleaver or Katana's would be great as well. It really comes down to personal preference.

    Thanks for the detailed review! What does it mean by "flex under foot"?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  4 месяца назад

      It means how easy the board can flex under the bindings. Some make the board stiffer which is good for holding an edge through a turn or absorbing chatter and some make it feel softer so it's easier to butter and sometimes turn.

    Great review as usual!
    What would you recommend for advanced freeriding in Japan on a Jones Flagship. Atlas Pro or Jones Apollo?
    Thanks!!

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  9 месяцев назад +1

      Many thanks! Not sure based on the info given about yourself but I'd go Atlas Pro or even Atlas if you have a soft sole boot and prefer a binding with a lot of adjustability. The Apollo is much more damp and shock absorbent though so if that is important to you definitely go with that. Hi curious what your thoughts are on the Beyond Medals Atlas mashup with Strata. Do you think that’s a great mashup or stick with a stock Atlas?

  • @kylesoliman2412

    Worth the upgrade to the atlas pros? I do all mountain and free ride with plenty of jumps and side hits on that aspect. Thanks and cheers!

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад +1

      Like I said it really depends. You trade some dampness for more response so it comes down to personal preference. I personally prefer my Atlas vs. the Atlas Pro's but I don't need any more response.

  • @jiajianhou426

    How would you compare the Rome Cleaver to this atlas line up? Is the Cleaver closer to Atlas Pro? Or the FC? Which has more adjustability? And which is the most responsive? (Imagine if you have all four of them on the table and comparing them) thanks!

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад

      The Cleaver has an adjustable ankle strap angle to change the response to match each of the Atlas. The High Back flex/response is between the Atlas/Atlas Pro (same highback flex) and the Atlas FC. All bindings on this list are very adjustable. The Atlas have better stance width adjustability though. They are practically tied for boot to binding adjustability except for Rome's ankle strap angle adjuster.

      @@thegoodridesnow Thank you! I have the cleaver and it's been working great. I'm just wondering if the atlas series have more to offer. tho after rewatching your reviews on cleaver it seems cleaver is just a better overall binding if one is not after the ultimate response.

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад

      I wouldn't say that its better but the Cleaver is a favorite on the site like the Atlas. If it appeals to you more then it's a better overall binding for you.

    Which one would better complement Genesis in a quiver - Atlas or Atlas Pro?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад

      Both have a stark contrast to the Genesis. Atlas would probably be better because it's more responsive than the Genesis and more damp than the Atlas Pro.

    What about the new forward lean dial on the highback? I hear it sucks…

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад +1

      Sorry! Forgot that. Wouldn't say it sucks but I will say I like the older FLAD better for sure. If you are a set it and forget it kind of guy with the FLAD you will be ok. If you constantly change it based on different riding moods, boards etc then you might not like this.
