Summary: 7 minimalist habits according to Sena: 1) Decluttering. 2) Focus on your progress, and you don't need to compare yourself with others. 3) Being intentional with what you purchase. 4) Use what you have as long as possible. 5) Keep what you want to do really simple everyday. Don't try to do too many things in a day. 6) Learn to say no. 7) Organize space. If you're surrounded by a messy place, your mind becomes messy. Thank you, Sena🙏
I’m not a minimalist in any way, but thank you for being unpretentious and thoughtful. Too many minimalists come off as self righteous and superior. You’re very pragmatic and, dare I say, normal acting! And your life philosophy is especially refreshing and goes beyond minimalism and is just good food for thought in general.

MY FAVORITE is #5: "Don't try to do too many things in a day." That is so true! And when I get that hard task done early in the day, I feel so calm, relaxed , and accomplished afterwards. One hard task . . . done . . . chill 🤓
Right On! I thought I was the only one who felt like that. I really enjoy purging alot of my stuff. I found to my embarrassment, that I had more than one of the same thing. How Ridiculous. I got rid of alot of stuff and gave it to the Charity Office nearby that they really appreciated. Books on how to Use Excel, Piano, and the like which I think will help someone who may not be able to afford lessons.

Currently, I'm decluttering my Dad's things. He abandoned them when he became ill. I sometimes will hold these things close to my heart. The sadness for me is that he worked so hard for all this stuff and most of it has either corroded, rusted, dried out, etc. The things of value, such as his woodwork, and his fly-fishing lures that he tied himself, are of such great beauty, to me that is his heart. This is why I'm minimizing, simplifying and decluttering I want to get to the heart, the very centre of this life I'm living. What is truly beautiful and important?
I completely adhere to the minimalist idea. It took me years, but my home is emptier and cleaner every day (quite zen-like). Order greatly helps both your mind and your mood because it makes you feel relaxed. I only buy things really important to me (mostly some books that I love and re-read frequently, though the number of them is strictly limited so I don't need much decluttering on that front!).
I decluttered my closet this past couple of months. It saddened me that I spent so much money for stuff and some of them, shoes, disintegrated. They don't last at all. Sold 9 handbags, it was so satisfying.
I live by the Mantra "Less Mess, Less Stress!" Now more than ever I keep My Home clean. I am not a Hoarder but after watching The Show, I am determined to keep The House Clean. You're life is more organized and clearer and more efficient.
Love your approach on buying 'stuff'. I do the same thing where I will wait to buy something instead of rushing out. I can sometimes take up to a year or more before buying something. It mostly comes down to a need vs want decision. There have been too many times I buy something on a whim and regret the purchase later on. There a many levels of minimalism, but whatever your level is I think it all boils down to 'simple is better'. I like your videos. Thanks for sharing :)
Great video. I am trying to be more minimalist by reducing purchases and donating what is no longer useful to me. I have been surprised how other people have become uptight about me reducing my belongings and I hesitate to use the word minimalism because of this. Something you said made me realize that the flip side of minimalism is basically materialism which is not something I want to pursue, so I now feel better about the path I am following. Keep sharing your positive message, it is something so many of us need to hear.

You tell it in a very nice Way. Thank you when people find a way of life that helps themselves it is a blessed things. And people are all different so I love how you tell the story. I’m a new subscriber and am enjoying your content. I was wondering if there is a video that you talk about your bed? It seems quite minimalist and I am looking for a good alternative. Thanks!
While I agree with these principles, I think the biggest factor in life is really changing your environment. It's hard to change your personality it takes real effort most people don't posses. For example, if I go and live in China then I must fit in to that society (you have to adapt), learn the language, culture. It is challenging but easier than trying to learn chinese culture while living in western culture.
I declutter weekly. Little by little I’m getting rid of things. Now if I bring something in I take one trash bag of stuff out. Today I loaded 2 trash bags, so it was a good day.
I have lived in Japan for 20 years. I like the wabi-sabi, open-space clutter-free esthetique one might associate with old Japan, before furniture, with a tea ceremony space, or possibly with Mari Kondo. I like your approach better! It is more planet-friendly! Don`t just toss things but think very carefully before making a purchase, any purchase, even a bottle of soda. That empty bottle - will it take up valuable space and even some of your energy before you find a day/place to dispose of it. Yes, I too feel a strong connection between outer order and serenity in my home, and my mind. Maybe it is just blood type A people or something... I take issue with you calling this Japanese. It is more just "Senna." Most Japanese don`t entertain at home, host home parties or ever give a tour of their homes because if they have lived there for any amount of time, and with others, it is likely cluttered, more than I have ever seen any Canadian home (and I used to babysit, petsit and housesit back in Canada). This may be changing as we start working from home and part of our inner world is exposed to the public through video. I am just saying, older generations keep everything in Japan, just in case having grown up during war time or just after. Furthermore, shopping is a Japanese national pastime. And in Japan watch movies, eat and study in the same space, shared by the family which makes it harder for the housewife to declutter (other members`s stuff). Heated/air-conditioned space is also at a premium so often if there is a spare room, usually with no A/C, everything is pushed into there willy nilly. Thank you for your thoughtful videos!.

Anyway, drinking three cups of coffee and three protein shakes are my daily habits. □Do I like coffee? Obviously! Yes!
Good Job^^ Learn to take care body and mind happy by your own. Peacefully. Many people make hard work for empty goal. Work to buy things then more work to take care things not yourself. Work then work then work then die.... Can not see what is the real goal.
Feng shui is a bitch! We end been at mercy of the items we own, but at the same time not owning items the person has to be/develop certain masculinity as it doesn’t get abused by the objects of the house. Still wondering what’s your favourite TV brand
Excellent Video Sena...In love with all of them and I have discovered myself and what I need to be successful happy and focus in life....that is the be a minimalist. Question: What if someone who enjoysbeing minimalist and finds his happiness and success in being minimalist, but then after a few years he gets married to a lady who isn't minimalist...then what happens ? Not everyone is a minamilist and what happens when u get a partner who isn't? .....Does the guy end up being single/unmarried all his life or find a minamilist wife/partner or change the partner to be minamilist? Not sure if thats a great question or if you can answer it Haha 😃
Interesting, I was always taking the minimalism way towards everything in my life... without actually knowing it, I mean, knowing that there is a movement somewhere in the world on this issue. I am extremely rational about my daily routine, relationships, my home, my spare time and all the things I don't really need. I devote my time and energy on one thing - learning. I'm insatiable, many areas of knowledge are... just demanding exploration... and since the learning is two way process, I really enjoy to pass on my knowledge to anybody around. What else can you do with your life? ;-)
Summary: 7 minimalist habits according to Sena:
1) Decluttering.
2) Focus on your progress, and you don't need to compare yourself with others.
3) Being intentional with what you purchase.
4) Use what you have as long as possible.

6) Learn to say no.
7) Organize space. If you're surrounded by a messy place, your mind becomes messy.

Anyway, drinking three cups of coffee and three protein shakes are my daily habits.
□Do I like coffee? Obviously! Yes!
物が溢れている今のような時代には、ミニマリズムが役に立つのかもしれませんね:)
Hahaha that's a perfect habit to have!
Hello 😍 great video 👍🏼
Hi Sena. I have been collecting Zoids since 1984. I collected so many, I don't know how to "declutter" them.
He’s also a very very handsome guy as well as being easy on the eyes.
Yup!
Happy to be here 🥳
Cheers!
Where is my quote at the beginning of this video. WHERE is it?
I gave a thumps up
Good Job^^
Learn to take care body and mind happy by your own.
Peacefully.
Many people make hard work for empty goal.
Work to buy things
then more work to take care things not yourself.
Work then work then work then die....
Can not see what is the real goal.
This helps in so many ways, thank you. I think I'm a 'clutterist', but I'm wanting to change my ways :-)
@rowan orre That's wonderful, I'll check it out. Thanks!
@rowan orre Much appreciated :-)
Ikigai is a great concept!
I click this because you are my type. Simple as that ;)
What do you use to record? And edit?
what is that massage thingy
Can you advise how I can learn Japanese in a minimalist way😂?
Coffee is fine, but I'm passionate about diet root beer lol
Not sure if thats a great question or if you can answer it Haha 😃
very good content
i too waited for 1.5 months before i couldnt take it anymore and got a guitar ;D
僕もいつからかミニマリストだったけど、ミニマリストはコーヒーが好きという典型なりイメージがあることは知らなかった😃
Interesting, I was always taking the minimalism way towards everything in my life... without actually knowing it, I mean, knowing that there is a movement somewhere in the world on this issue.
I am extremely rational about my daily routine, relationships, my home, my spare time and all the things I don't really need. I devote my time and energy on one thing - learning. I'm insatiable, many areas of knowledge are... just demanding exploration... and since the learning is two way process, I really enjoy to pass on my knowledge to anybody around.
What else can you do with your life? ;-)
You are funny and educational
