Hi, Christina! In 2020 I decluttered my house (got rid of around 60% of my stuff: clothes, kitchen utensils, toys, kids books etc.) and know I`m trying to build a sensible collection of shoes and clothes. So don`t stop teaching me, keep on! Best wishes from Warsaw, Poland🙂

I already do most of these. I have always been a bit of a neat freak, so everything has a place and it always goes there, just makes life easy. I am also minimalist-ish. I like to keep things that I use on the regular, and get rid of things that just seem to occupy space. But I love your tip about buying clothes that don't need other clothes to work. Great thing to keep in mind when I go shopping! THanks!

I've been watching your videos for at least a year. I don't know that I've ever commented before. I am consistently inspired by yours and Alyssa's videos to minimize, although I realize extreme minimalist (or even minimalist) is not my style aesthetic. Like you say, "you do you". Nonetheless, they are still inspiring! I live in an old home with very little closet space and I can quickly cram them full. One-in, one-out rule helps a lot, as well as managing money, knowing my colors or aesthetic, and delaying gratification! Such a good one.

The best habit I adopted to keep my life streamlined is to maintain a combo calendar/journal. It’s one place to keep my appointments, to-do lists, notes, etc. Its not large and not overwhelming, but helps me keeps my day to day life running smoothly. FYI for me the Hobonichi weeks mega is just perfect for this.

Great video. I have adopted your wish list and have mine on my phone. When I get asked what I’d like for bday or Xmas I can say what I would really love is……. And it’s in X shop 😂. My list changes and sometimes I delete it completely. It’s helped so much with my emotional and impulse buying. I recognise when I’m feeling low rather than buy a new top to cheer myself up. I have decluttered my whole house (a house of 6 inc 4 children). I don’t need stuff to live a happy life - I need people I love and experiences. ❤❤

I just graduated from uni and have to move, so transition and packing up are making me realize I want to simplify to live the life I want to as an adult. I started a board on pinterest to try and narrow down what I want my home/wardrobe to actually look like so I can make mindful changes to reflect my vision--"minimalist-ish gothic-ish"😂. Plus it gives me ideas for how to use what I already have and have patience to wait for just the right thing (like a wishlist and vision board in one)

Christina’s presentation is very nice. I don’t know whether she has stressed this point. Minimalists or simplicity doesn’t have any relation with cost. It only gets us a feeling of satisfaction by having the right things required by us. We don’t won’t to possess things in excess or not required by us.

I have a very high paying job, but I will keep handbags on my wishlist for up to two years to be sure. Whenever I impulse buy one, I always end up reselling it and regretting it. That’s actually one thing I love about the Hermes wishlist, it forces you to wait and allows room to think and switch while you wait, so you’re buying what you love and at those prices you should buy what you absolutely love.

I love how you emphasise putting things on your wish list. I don’t know why, but when I put things on a wish list, even if it’s for something that I really want , it magically makes me not want the item any more. It’s like what you mentioned in one of your previous videos. How sometimes we feel like buying things because it makes us feel productive.

Thank you, Christina! Very helpful video, likewise I do follow most of the rules/advices you share. ❤ You got me with the 3 things - clothes, food and fitness, very cute.😊 Me, I wish I was a minimalist, but dang I love my clothes/shoes/etc. so I kinda struggle with the 1 in 1 out rule. Anyway, from time to time I evaluate all things I no longer use/or like and post them to be sold in an app for such pieces/things. And I do this not only with clothes, footwear, etc., but home stuff, electronics, perfumes, you name it. This way I get some money back, save space, declutter and make someone else happy finding their new desired piece. I will keep an eye on your channel moving forward. Thanks and hugs from Bulgaria! 🌹😊🌹

Although there is a positive correlation with clutter and depression, there is also a positive correlation with clutter and creativity. And I don't think there has been any scientific proof that there is causation either way. That being said, I don't like clutter myself and try to follow your tips!

I guess the buy extra pieces rule to make a piece work is a very good way to really think if you actually want it. If a style of top needs a new style of bra I need to think if I will wear this style very often and if the bra would be helpful for other outfits. Ive also found having a table mat to define the size of the dumping space I alway put stuff there so it quick to see when I’m leaving this room and when if full I need to remove the stuff and I only put transient items there (cup to go down stairs, paper to sort )

I am definitely not a minimalist, but I want to optimize what I have to be things I actually like or to be things that are useful, which still does diminish a good amount of things I own.
I have been living with the one in one out method regarding my makeup and skincare collection. I only have four skincare products in total and 19 pieces of makeup in total. I'm still working on optimizing my makeup collection, my looks don't require lots of products to achieve and I don't wear foundation or contour, so I can get away with having a smaller collection.
I cannot approach clothing the same way at the moment. I recently did a big clean out of things I haven't worn in years and that were impractical and I'm still in the process of making sure I have all I need for work. I do have my favorite stores that I know fit my body type and my personal style, so it's easier for me to shop if needed. I also know what fits me well, what doesn't and what types of colors I want to wear. My closet right now is very eclectic, but I can wear 3/4 of it to work.
