As a landscape designer in NZ, this is exactly what I wanted to see......thank you mate. Top stuff
I'm late commenting , but this is still great. I refer to it again and again when I don't drape terrain for awhile, I forget. Thanks for what you do.
Appreciate whoever asked and the GREAT how-to!! Thanks very much.
Great timing! Planning, this morning - no kidding, to model up the backyard. Nothing like this one, but sandbox & this session will help make that happen! Thanks.
Terrain can be very difficult and time consuming. This was a good practical example of using the drape tool for terrain modeling. Thanks Aaron.
I used to use the stamp tool for building pads. It never turns out neatly. This is an easier and cleaner way to do building pads, along with all the terrain modelling of course. Awesome!!.
Thanks for that excellent presentation
Great job Aaron, thank you. That is very helpful for a current project I am working on.
That was very helpful, thanks. I know there are lots of specialized add-ons tools, but I really being able to exploit the native tools.
Thanks for listening to your fans! Another great video!
Stuart Billings Thanks for asking, Stuart!
Great video and very useful for similar project I'm working on. More landscape design focused videos please!
Thanks a lot - and I would be very interested in more videos like that!
I was searching for that on RUclips yesterday, Thanks
I heard you were looking... thought this might help 😉
Wow very nice man
I couldn't get the drape to work but the intersect faces did what I wanted so I still learned how to do what I was trying to do from this. Seems like such a useful tool, how have I never used that before? I was just trying to push holes through a plate at an angle. The last time I did something like this I just went from end point to end point along the face. I tried that today too but for some reason the ellipse end points didn't match up to the circle and lead to a weird shaped hole. This makes it much faster and less tedious to put holes in things.
You're the best instructor
Marcelo Teixeira Aw shucks! 😊
nice simple instructional video...more power
Thank you. Very useful hint.
You’re a genius sir👍
Thanks. That will be useful!
It's impressive how we could create land profile with SandBox tool, I would like to see more videos for Lanadscape
thank you That is very helpful
thank you
Awesome! Thank you, I didn’t know that.
Obrigada!
I liked, thank.
Sir u are the best turtor... i loved u....
shakib alam Thank you!
Nice video 👍👍👍👍
thenk
Thank you so much, also please can you explain dynamic components.
Perfetto!!
THANKS VERY MUCH FROM A RE-SKILLING ENGLISHMAN
Great video. I would like to see how to create steps on the path that merge into the contours
Thanks a million for your tutorials! I would ask for an advice on terrain modeling - creating terraces, slopes and embankments out of mesh. I 'm a beginner, but I think I've tried everything there is and I just seem to not be able to produce a proper result. Help please!
Thank you for this video... can we put in the specific grade changes and create the frame? Your desccription of a slight grade change was not specific enough for the work I'm doing. Also, I tried to geo locate the grade but it was hard to figure out how to locate the correct area . Thanks again!
Can you please demonstrate how to model a toilet bowl with native tools ? Suggest a toilet bowl that has the complex curves that intersect eg. a Sloan wall hung toilet.
Have been trying with solids and the follow me tool but was wondering if you could demonstrate a work flow that is more efficient as you normally do....thanks and keep those videos coming!! Great stuff
Dope
Finally I can figure out how to solve that problem.
[thumbs up]
Helpful, Ive been making it much more difficult/=
From sandtool I have created contour but I'm not sure how to use sandbox with graph geometry created with from scratch
Kindly guide me for making roads and building for cut and fill part
Hi Aaron, how do I change the grid spacing? I am working in metric and I have a grid that is 3 meters square need to change it thanks Maria
Is there a way to generate a 3D landscape from a topographical drawing?
Hey friend how do I drape an image (floor plan) saved from autocad as image file since I have a learners copy of sketch up pls help
can I get that plan?
How much cost Sketchup pro ?
What are your space mouse settings by the way and does yours keep defaulting back to object / target after being set to camera?
I change a few axis (moving the puck in and out controls zooming while moving it up and down controls the vertical pan), but other than that, control is the same. I never leave Object mode... I always use the 3DM to move the model in 3D space.
@@AaronMakingStuff You don't change the speed of any functions then, I find rotate is really slow compared to the other directions.
Planoramic Limited I will up the speed as I am working... orbit speed varies based on the size/complexity of the model. I change that in the pop up menu as I model.
REQUEST: I have seen a lot of videos showing modelling terrain using an Autocad survey plan. But most of them have the imaginary contour lines already set up in cad file. That makes it easier to use the sandbox extension. What if, there are no contour lines and the survey points are only as dots (as I mostly get here in Australia ). I make imaginary lines at various levels and use sandbox tool but it is time-consuming. Is there any easier way around it?
I’m pretty sure there is at least one extension that can generate terrain from points. Maybe Justin at TheSketchupEssentials has covered it? Worth a Google..
In SU 2017 I have Didier Bur's extension Cloud v.8b and I use this. I need it only once or twice a year so I didnt need too find newer version (I work in 2019 now).
rhino to sketchup workflow please
,imported rhino geometry is very heavy and sketchup gets laggy then
priyansh ajmera Check our Skimp. It is a great extension for decimating polygons on import.
I wanna see native pdf import into sketchup and layout on PC.
Screen print for a quick paste into SU. If you need greater accuracy buy Adobe Acrobat and export bitmaps to SU
Unfortunately, we all need Microsoft to buy in and natively support PDFs for that to work... until then, John Brock over at estimatorforsketchup.com has a Windows pdf importer!
@@jeffharmed1616 I can manage it (open pdf in Inkscape and then dxf export it), but I'm lazy, so native SU and most iportantly LO pdf import would be handy.
thats 140 iq trick a least
Kindly share your email or contact I have some issues using drape tool if we use cad contour 3d in SketchUp this graph of contour geometry cannot produce
