I think it’s really cool how this reverses the concept of eiji buffing you from the start of the game, it makes me appreciate how rgg really evolved their rpg game design for this game
Seriously, afterwards when I saw Eiji in the sujidex I was like 'THAT was a boss fight?'

Its even weirder that Eiji resist to every type of attacks and it counted as "defeated" on Sujidex.

Eiji was a scrapped boss, based on what people found in the game's files. Considering the fact he has his own Sujidex entry and has gv_fighter and gv_enemy voicelines (although very little since they were both missing some voicelines), he was definitely supposed to be a fightable boss. I guess they scrapped it at the last second. A lot of stuff got scrapped from the game as well, including the poundmates of certain characters.
Ah the old poison gas gimmick came back.
Also the gimmick of Eiji being a support character, but for the opposite side this time. Nice twist there, just to make it abundantly clear that he isn't on your side anymore. I was honestly hoping that his story ends with him going out a window, or having his legs broken so he knows what it's really like to be stuck in a wheelchair.
I personally can't compare Eiji to Kume or even hate him as much. Unlike Kume, a constant failure who joined Bleach Japan because he was a bigot, Eiji at least kept his hate directed solely towards Yakuzas (with a reason for it too) and is actually competent at being a villain
