    GLOSSARY
    DEMAGOGUE - a political leader who seeks support by appealing to the desires and prejudices of ordinary people rather than by using rational argument
    ARCANE - understood by few people, or mysterious
    PERORATION - a long speech characterized by lofty and often pompous language
    BAFFLEGAB - deliberately unintelligible language or jargon used for the purposes of obfuscation by politicians
    XENOPHOBE - a person having a dislike of or prejudice against people from other countries
    LOTTEREL - rogue or scoundrel
    MUGWUMP - a political turncoat
    HIGHBINDER - a corrupt or scheming politician
    COCKALORUM - a boastful and self-important person
    EMPLEOMANIAC - someone with a mania for holding public office
    FIRM PECKER - stiff upper lip (according to Gilbert & Sullivan!)
    TAWDRY - showy but cheap and of poor quality
    PHILANDERER - a man who readily or frequently enters into casual sexual relationships with women
    BLUSTER - talk in a loud, aggressive, or indignant way with little effect
    PLEB - a common person, especially one from the lower social classes
    BLOVIATE - to speak or write verbosely, especially in an inflated or empty way
    NARCISSIST - a person who has an excessive interest in or admiration of themselves
    LOPLOLLY - a lazy, or idle person
    SNOLLYGOSTER - a shrewd, unprincipled person, especially a politician
