My takeaway from this is that we should make a format that's just Goat, but with all of these cards legal (at one), and we call it Warrior Lady format.

Not exactly. Usually if you want to destroy a format you'd need something that would fundamentally change it, that would make it a nightmare to play and that there is no way around. While it's true that Morganite would be completely broken during Goat era and oftentimes the first person who could activate it would probably win, there were a lot of cards that could be used to have Morganite add depth to the format.
Both players would be running it, but they might run something like Graverobber or even Exchange to snatch the opponent's Morganite if they got it first - as well as generic counterplay like Delinquent Duo, Mind Crush, Magic Jammer and Solemn Judgment.
Morganite would be a completely format-warping card and it would be sacky win-con if the opponent has no answer in a similar method to Maxx C but oddly I think that Goat decks do have enough wiggle room to make a "Limited to 1 Morganite" add to the game.

Twitter thread idea: Cards that are very strong now, but would do less than nothing if they were in old Yu-Gi-Oh. For example Triple Tactics Talents. While the effect it's a combination of three banned cards, the activation requirement would almost never happen.

I think Maxx C is probably the pick, it defines the entire metagame in modern Yugioh but in Goat? You're holding it for 9 turns hoping your opponent goes Premature Burial + Chaos Sorc at best.
TTT it depends on how old we're talking, as well as if people might be able to build a deck around it.
Edison for instance has monsters like LADD, Machina Fortress, Absolute Zero, Stardust Dragon or even Card Trooper that a player could force to activate during the Main Phase. It could easily be a side deck card. If you go a little farther into 5D's and talk Tengu format you'd have the Scrap archetype that could easily turn on TTT by using Scrap Golem to summon Searcher to the opponent's field, which also can act as a board wipe.
TTT is harder to trigger during Synchro era but still works against a lot of common meta cards.
I think you could say TTT is too niche for Goat since the only good ways to trigger it would be to use either something that could trigger a flip monster in the main phase or destroy Sangan during the main phase with Ring of Destruction or something. But really it would get playable pretty quickly.
you can actually play dinos in edison using baby, but the next problem you face it that there is not a single good dino

The best part about sending an Xyz back in time is how people would probably decide it works. Since the effect mentions detaching materials, they'd know that the materials don't just go to the GY like with a fusion summon, but I don't think they'd come up with the concept of overlaying. I think they would be more likely to decide that the materials become equip cards attached to the Xyz monster.
Yeah, the word detach is very similar in meaning to unequip
@@shirohiruka And I'm pretty sure that "unequip" was only used for Union monsters at the time. (And even now, Armory Arm and Burner Visor are the only non-Union cards to use it, and they're basically Union monsters in everything but name.) So it would be perfectly reasonable to decide that "unequip" must mean summoning an equipped Union monster, while "detach" means sending an equipped card to the GY.

Honestly got a huge kick out of seeing every card lose to D.D. Warrior Lady. As a kid I pulled her out of a pack and was enamored with the fact that she was shiny (Super Rare) and also GOOD. She has a really special place in my heart as a nostalgic DM-era card and I love seeing her in so many card arts. I keep hoping that one of her retrains will eventually be good. Rookie Warrior Lady might get a deck one day!
MtG has "dies to doom blade" and Goat Format has "DD Warrior Lady banishes it"
While Edison has "Dies to Catastor/Caius/Ryko". Is there a card who is immune to all 3 of them? I feel the only one is Big Shield gardna, and only for 1 turn in case of catastor, creating an intriguing dynamic between boss monsters and removal.
While I doubt Chaos Angel would be a big deal in Goat Format, it would be utterly insane in early Dark Armed Dragon decks, where Armageddon Knight sending Malicious is a 1-card Chaos Angel (Dark Grepher also works if you discard a card).

What's great is when making a cube, you can do exactly this. E3 has an Edison cube where he uses Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo and the transformations as a way to bump consistency in decks like Gladiator Beasts, Blackwing, and whatever else benefits from dragons/beasts/winged beasts/whatever else the transformations get you.
Now, we're breaking a format, yeah the $100 extra deck ninja girl.

As much as we can laugh at "[card] can be outed by D.D. Warrior Lady", she is one of my favorite cards in retro games alongside Breaker (World Championship 2006, even later ones like Reverse of Arcadia, especially early on).

I actually ran a format like this and one of the sleeper hits was Runick Destruction. An extra MST that also rips power oneoffs out the top of the deck with a near negligible downside in a format as slow as goat was really good
I dont know if a single extra copy of mst would do very much especially at the cost of a battle phase. Just me thought no hate
@@ayxierl5977 A lot of the time in goat you're just setting and passing anyway, but some of the power of Destruction is seeing what power one-offs you don't need to play around. GOAT has so many stupid one-offs that banishing 4 can usually snipe a few. I was running it and spiked Ring, Snatch Steal, Breaker off the top as well as clearing a set book of moon and it felt so broken- not as broken as Morganite but still very strong

Dandylion. I didn't remember wheter Raigeki Break was in the format or not,but it makes Dandy be a mini Scapegoat you can access while destroying one of your opponent's cards and the Tokens threaten a Monarch if not deat with(but then again,Asura Priest exists)

Old formats like Goat had so much mass removal that people regularly had to decide how much they wanted to put on the field.
It wasn't until, like, Arc-V where every deck had so much floating that losing your entire field didn't matter.
People especially are very careful of overextending and resource manage in older format, so evenly is not that good tbh

@@austinanderson5720 I mean he has to banish as a trigger off a monster effect on the opponents turn, and can't hit facedowns. Its honestly rather hard for him to get the banish, it wont trigger on the inherent summon of a chaos monster, or in response to them banishing him since he'll be gone.
1 copy of Fenrir in goat is basically just a 2nd copy of BLS that is easier to summon, that's it, not that crazy. Now if you can play 3 copies of him, THAT is the crazy part, BLS that replaces itself.

so originally i just said hu-li the jewel mikanko since a non targetable non destroyable monster with the downside that you just need an equip was good but the problem is you dont have any mikanko equips and you only get one copy, if you wanna be able to ruin a format with a single card you have to be able to consistently see that single card meaning the best answer is probably chaos angel
it was frustrating to see so many main deck monsters that were submitted. GOAT has answers to basically any monster. Dark core, D.D warrior Lady, Compulsory evacuation device, solumn judgement (at 3 btw), bottomless trap hole. I had a discussion with the person who submitted eldlich and sure its a strong card but, without any of its archetype playmakers, you would be relying on a flood gate-y type deck where you need to remove your own flood gates to use eldlich. It has a ton of resistance to removal but there are ways to shut it down. I think anyone who submitted extra deck or spell card suggestions had the right idea. Morganite is really good, supply squad is good, time thief redoer is great. I also agree that grass looks greener is not as good as it sounds. Yes, you can ditch more cards but there are not a lot of graveyard effects that do things for you. Like what are you getting? Destiny hero dasher? elemental hero necroshade?? ditch some zombies for book of life? Even then, you could really just facilitate all of the usable graveyard effects with foolish burial instead.
Now that we moved onto internet shows for the intros I wonder if we'll get a remix of the old Twitter Thread intro with it being his avatar crapply pasted over his regular head.

You dont "play around" dd warrior lady, you lose a mosnter or an important spell/trap. Or you just play the skill drain deck

The actual answer is Toon Kingdom. Protection for itself and all your toons, toon gemini elf is in the format, and the existence of toon table of contents.
My other thoughts for cards:
>Eternal soul (card that promotes an already established archetype and makes an already semi consistent game plan more so)
> Blue Eyes Jet (same as above but also a recurring 3000 beat stick with no downside
>Kasteria Ogre (same special summon capabilities as cyber dragon but with added value of future draw knowledge)

A bit tardy to the party but my suggestion might not be as powerful as time tearing or back up squad. But just as terrifying. Dark Factory of More Production, this card alone could rack up so much advantage throughout a game when paired with a staple like Sinister Serpent. Being able to pitch Serp during you opponents turn drawing 1, drawing for turn, adding it during the standby, pitching it again during the standby to draw a second card. Then once again add it back to hand during that same standby would be really nasty. Although this does compete for your discard for something like Tribe or break. It also could be used to avoid targeting effects like thousands eyes, chaos sorc, and BLS. As well as help fuel so chaos piles by clearing any unwanted thunder dragons
I love the Yu-Gi-Oh equivalent of giving McDonald’s Sprite to a small Victorian child
Endymion. Its not only a Pendulum but it has so much text on it by the time the enemy is done reading and failing to understand it you can call for time :p

For my money I'd have to go with Clock Arc. It's a Marshmallon that also lets you Pendulum Summon 2-7 by just using 2 copies of itself. Make all the kids back in the day's heads explode seeing a monster card that is also a spell, have to wrap their heads around the face up extra deck, and finally you'll get them believe that future Pendulums will eventually have Pendulum Scales of different values.

I think Red Reboot has the potential to go crazy in GOAT format since it's riddled with trap cards, but while also not having the vulnerabilities that come with being a trap card (being a target for MST or Breaker the Magical Warrior) and just letting you commit to all of your plays without any drawbacks. The card is already good enough to be banned as it stands, imagine the destruction it would enable in a format that has literally no counterplay aside from a lucky Seven Tools of the Bandit.
Then you have the cards that would be harder to get out but would do a lot more. My kneejerk reaction to the thread was Ultimate Conductor Tyranno, who would be impossible to climb over due to its huge stats and its ability to just Book of Moon everything at any point (sidestepping DD Warrior Lady) but the smaller pool of Dinosaur monsters hurts it and really limits your ability to get him on the field. Perhaps Scapegoat + DNA Surgery?
But then I thought about Master Peace. All you'd need to do is tribute a trap and a monster and you basically win the game outright because as far as I'm aware spell cards are more utility instead of offensive in GOAT so you're better off dodging traps instead. Admittedly I don't know a lot about GOAT though so meh.
Honestly it makes me wonder would it be good to try take Goat format as a base and intro small amounts of cards from later eras that fit well and see if you can't make the ultimate retro mod format
I’ve always wanted to link off 4 Sheep tokens for Shuraig. While it doesn’t instantly win you the game, 3k attack and an on summon banish is very powerful.
I once heard of an old debate regarding Exarion Universe where someone else briefly attempted to add just Effect Veiler into GOAT format to see how that would turnout, and everyone involved didn’t like it, but I don’t think there’s any footage or significantly different decklists regarding this experiment. Now that the format has changed thanks to people learning a lot more about it, let’s just try it again.
Best part is that it doesn’t lose to Warrior Lady!
I think doing something like that would be really interesting like adding in low impact cards into an existing format. And just expanding it by a few cards each week.

I would add Black Fang Magician, without the Pendulum rules, it goes to the graveyard everytime it dies, at which point it can immediately bring itself back from the grave endlessly (yes, it loses to D.D. Warrior Lady)

Metaltron XII The True Dracombatant goes brazy. Theorerically unoutable Towers, just sit on floodgates until you can summon it with all 3 immunities. If it somehow dies, float into Master of Oz for psychic damage and a huge beatstick.
