Didn't know about the Groove track... That will save me a good self-beating or two !!! Thanks Patrick !!!
It’s a shame it’s hidden away in a sub-menu! Cheers for watching Marc 👍
Patrick, your videos are, apart from instructing and funny, so humbling. Even when you're covering a "basic" feature, I find something I didn't know! Thank you so much, keep it up!
Thanks so much! I appreciate you 👍
Seriously true. I'll watch one of your vids going to myself:"... already knew that, and that... and... whaaaa??". This time it's Groove Track. I had NFI about this feature😃
Very informative and easy to follow.
Thanks
Good tips as usual - I would add Record Enable's obvious function besides cloning your performance with MIDI is to play on one track while singing on another, or two people can record at once on separate tracks. 🎙
Thanks so much, man. I have been using Garageband on my Mac for quite awhile and didn’t know about some of these header options. Love your videos.
The record enable is also useful if you want to use the smart strings patch without an external controller or keyboard. To use the smart strings properly without a keyboard you will ned a second track that is not from the strings category and press record enable on both tracks. Then click on the second track and mute it or solo the smart strings track. Use the modulation number keys of your Mac keyboard to record different articulations like pizzicato, staccato or legato.
As always, a very useful and easy to follow video - thanks Patrick 😎
This is absolutely brilliant
Worth adding that all these tips/functions apply equally to Logic Pro.
Which is logical. sorry. 🤡
@@cuda426hemi Oh dear....
I need help sir. I was working on my project and the solo and mute are blinking without playing tge tracks. Can you please help?
Thanks a lot for your videos ! A question about track import and timing. Somes times, when I import backing track, track begins on an after beat (for instance, second time and a half). I can't calibrate track on after beat, Only on a beat. I need to do it to keep right groove on my cover. How can I do ? any idea ? Thanks.
Thanks for useful tips ; I'm running GB 10;3;5 and sadly cannot update cos of the age of my mac! I would like to be able to change the track colours, but cannot..or can i?
HOW DO YOU MERGE THE BEAT SEQUENCE IN THE PIANO ROLL
Help! My Garageband layout looks NOTHING like yours! Yours looks so clean and modern. And I don’t have the ability to tap on the volume to see the decibels, etc. I suspect I have an “older layout” and had no idea that it got updated. I’m running Garageband version 2.3.15 on an iPad Pro 12.5 and it’s supposedly fully updated. Any advice?
Well, now I know there is something called a "track header" in Garageband, at least.
I’ll take that as a win.
Are you on cameo?

I really wish Apple would bring custom track colours to iOS. I mean how hard could it be?!
