"There's a lot to like about Diablo Immortal but it's still not a game I can heartily recommend. As a casual, purely free-to-play experience it offers dozens of hours of empowering ARPG combat built around an interesting skill system, whereas for those that want to be competitive it quickly becomes restrictive, punitive, and money-grubbing. And for everyone in between? It just doesn't offer good value for money spent. If the season-long services like the Empowered Battle Pass offered more, I could definitely see myself renewing them each time and steadily working my way through the many difficulty levels as I ascend Immortal's 600 paragon levels, and gradually - oh so gradually - rank up my legendary gems. Instead, that dream is so far out of reach that it's not actually possible. I'm still going to keep playing Diablo Immortal, but without overhauls to the monetisation and the many restrictions, it's going to be a dip in, dip out game, as opposed to a world I want to live in."
In Diablo Immortal, YOU are the treasure goblin and Blizzard try to hit you as much they can before you leave.

Is EA the only letters people know? All of these companies practice predatory monetization schemes. It's an industry problem not solely an EA problem.
this should be illegal. USD500,000 for full gear? that warning should be made explicitly clear in the legal document you have to agree to before playing the game.. otherwise it's misleading the consumer, or something along those lines.

Idk this review was pretty fair… it’s the best mobile game in terms of look, gameplay, and presentation… and 6 is above average… but it’s only above average because the monetization is garbage… a lot of games on mobile or a scam on top of being literal non games with absolutely no redeeming qualities sooo

They’ve now officially hit $100,000,000 in earnings. It took eight weeks. Only Pokemon GO managed to bring developers a tenth of a billion faster (2 weeks). Fire Emblem Heroes (10 weeks), Fortnite (12 weeks) and FFXV: A New Empire (22 weeks) were also in the top 5.
As long as people are pouring money into the game blizzard will consider it a success. This game sadly will not change .

this didn't age well did it, Diablo Immortal made like 525 mill in its first year, and heaps of people are coming back to the game after the shocker that was diablo 4 and realizing that you actually get a lot with the game for free. Sure the whales are gonna be the strongest, but literally the ENTIRE game is free if you're willing to grind, and there's plenty of catch up mechanics

There is no skill trees. Skill is automatically unlocked as you progress. So there is no diversity in build like PoE has.
The only gameplay you will have is endless grinding dungeon for better gear.
Android player here. Spent $5 on the pass and I'm at Paragon 55 with high level gear. I'd rather it 8/10 because it beats the crap out of every other mobile game on the market.
imagine if they make it actually a little more affordable, like maybe 100 usd for a 5 star gem, it may even top genshin impact.

Was wondering why the 4:3 video. So awesome to see it’s played with iPad 9 with A13. Means most more modern hardware is more than enough power, unlike genshin.
