Today, in celebration of my dad's birthday, I am spotlighting one of this favorite super heroes: the Silver Surfer! We won't look at every Surfer ever made, but we will cover just enough of the highlights so that you can witness action figure evolution!

I drive a silver 2018 Chevy Cruze, which I named The Silver Surfer. I even got a sticker of his logo for the back window.
Nice! My second car was a silver Mercury Sable, and there is a very embarrassing picture I once took of myself wearing a Silver Surfer shirt, posed on top of the car like I was riding it like the surfer lol

I don't have a Silver Surfer figure in my Fantastic Four/Cosmic Being shelf, But I really like both of the Walgreen's exclusive Silver Surfer as well as the fallen Silver Surfer because he is a fun, cool, badass Fantastic Four character, Overall, Amazing video Jason.

Crazy to think we didn't get an SS figure until the 90s. I'm still kicking myself for not picking up the Marvel Legends Walgreens Exclusive version when I saw it in store. I'm hoping to see a Retro Card version released on the Spidey RYV body mold.
I hope they do that as well.

Yeah. A deluxe release with that new head on the Renew Your Vows Body, along with the display base from the HasLab would be just about perfect

I still have my 10inch toybiz surfer. Oddly enough I got him for my birthday when I was 15 or 16 from KB Toys. Also my birthday was on the 21st and just turned 36 so almost like an anniversary with your vid. How funny every once in awhile you post something from my childhood thanks man😄
That's really cool! And mentioning KB really brings me back. When I was a kid, we had two stores, KB and KB Toyworks. Toyworks was like an outlet version of KB, and they always had mountains of the 10" Toy biz figures piled everywhere.
@@5POAFigureReviews never heard of KB Toyworks wow! As a kid I had mostly Marvel figures from KB. Pretty much the whole line of 10" figs. And now as an adult I have mostly DC. Keep up the good work!

I remember having that 2nd series FF Silver surfer with the ring board & the human torch. As a kid I added duct tape to both to make custom Sub-Zero & Scorpion figures respectively. That was before I even knew what customs were lol.
Nice! Before I knew what customs were, I made custom Kenner Aliens figures after the line ended.

11:57 you forgot the gun metal grey metallic dark surfer with thors hammer released in 2020 I modified mine with a sleeping mask strap so he can stand on it properly without the board leaning off like a talking shoe when I have it on a stand

im still really sad that silver surfer is now so hard to find since his last 2 figures were an exclusive and apart of a haslab. hes one of my favourite characters but i cant even find one because of this. i was hoping he’d be included with the fantastic 4 retro carded wave but no dice, looks like itll be a while until im able to get one.

Very true. What I am taken by having done this video is how very few Surfer figures are original sculpts. Feels like he seldom gets the love he deserves.

Also, What is your recently announced Hasbro Marvel Legends figure reveal that you want? Mine are Ultimate Captain America, Outback Rogue, maybe Extremist Iron Man, Safari jacket Wonder Man, and TOEI Japanese Supaidaman that are coming next year.
I already have my Supaidaman and I LOVE it, just haven't gotten around to a video yet. Otherwise, I'm most excited for Blob, though that Cap is pretty sweet and I got a figure to do a Versus for it.

Have the figure of Rom Space Knight
Ive been meaning to ask. How do you get your heads to swap without taking the head joint fron the neck. And if the joint is taken out how do you get it unstuck.
I should really show that off in a video since I do so many head swaps. To remove heads, I either dunk them in hot water or use a hair dryer. Depending on the figure, sometimes the pin pops off too, sometimes not. I keep a small pair of pliers on hand for when that happens. Always heat the head before pulling the pin out, then heat the neck so the hole is soft and it pushes in with no trouble. Now that I have done so many head swaps, a lot of my DC heads just pop on an off with no trouble

Because of how similar it was to the regular release, I opted not to include it. Though I probably should have at least given a mention.

his color would be a good comparison as no other surfer is gun metal grey.
additionally the fallen surfer came with thor's hammer which is also unique on your list.

Fun fact: Many people have 4 pack muscles. 6 packs are not something achievable unless you have 6 pack muscle in your DNA. 8 packs are also possible.
i have greater then 6 abs visible. everyone else in my family is fat; therefore it is not genetic.
Wish McFarlane can do better Silver Surfer if they have that license for production.
They're Walmart Exclusive Captain Atom is pretty close as far as a McFarlane Surfer goes lol

Officially, Surfer is 6'4", but Legends skew high. Maybe that 7" Marvel Select isn't so far off?

I had the Marvel Select Surfer and he was huge. I think if they put him on the Vulcan Body with a larger head that sits higher on the peg and feet that stand a little taller at the ankle we would get the height that we need.

In my first Evolution video, I made very clear that these videos are in tribute to Glenn's memory. He was my introduction to the world of action figure reviews, he was the one that made me want to make videos myself, and it was his style of humor and joy that most informed my ideas of what an action figure channel should be, and what I should be. That said, because I wanted this particular video to be in dedication to my dad, I did not bring him up. But if you are new to my channel and have not seen me discuss Glenn before, I can definitely see why you would feel that way. All that said, based on its own merit, I hope that you enjoy this video for what it is, and if you enjoy the Action Figure Evolution format, there will definitely be more in the future for you, and I will definitely do a better job of celebrating Glenn and his legacy and those videos, as every video I make it someone's first. Happy New Year.
