First time home owner as well. This is cool stuff bro.
First time home owner and plan to use this video. TY! I would love an update on anything else you have done to your basement and a progress report on how the epoxy held up over the year!
Hi Joey. Wow looks like a professional job. You & Julia work well together.
Looks great
I'm used to seeing you down the shore but this was a good video as well!!!!👍
dont assume his instructions will apply to your epoxy unless it's the same and in which case you must determine if concrete has ever been sealed before doing this with rustoleum. If it has you must use primer. To-determine is simple, toss water on floor and if it beats up there's sealer on it. Wanna make sure it's dry enough to apply epoxy? Tape a peace of plastic and let dry for 24hrs and If there's condensation wait. If still having problems you need to do further steps. Those asking why no etch or primer, Im not sure but the instructions specifically for this kind of epoxy outline when and when not to use primer or etch. I wold set timer for 3 minutes and mix. Looks great and thanks for sharing your experience.
The floor looks great! I agree with painting the walls. Off white or beige.
From my experience. Maybe a very light grey or an off white with lavender undertones (this goes with everything I own from burgundy/ red, blues, peach). Was able to use it with all 3 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms with different dominant base color. 👍🏻👍🏻
Previous had peach undertones in LR/ DR, looked dirt after getting burgundy leather sofa/ love seat.
Looks nice, Joey. You might consider removing the sag from that sewage pipe on the wall. If that is downstream from your kitchen sink, grease will build up there and eventually clog. Cheers!
Thank you😊
Nice job. How come you didn't etch or grind the floor 1st? And how come no top coat?
Not bad Joey. Is this your first time being a home owner? If it is then you are doing a great job.
If you paint the walls, have you considered using flex seal liquid on the concrete? We just ordered some for our basement walls. Haven't tried it yet!
It's why people put down carpet, flooring, tile... less/ no prep...but a bigger expense.
Nicely done👍🏻👍🏻
Because of flooding
What kind of mic are you using? Stellar quality!
Great work; how big is your basement?
I think that the patches are showing because they were lighter then the floor. Maybe a primer step would have avoided that. I'll be looking to do this in my basement this year, I like the chip look.
How has this held up over time?
I Have Concrete Odor in My Basement that's Toxic to Me... I'm thinking Trying to Seal it in Epoxy. But I Wanna know Does/Will These Concrete Epoxy's Eliminate The Concrete Odor?
Go Birds!
Floor looks great, but couldn’t you have primed your floor before adding the epoxy to avoid seeing patching on the floor??? I’m in the process of redoing my basement that’s why I ask.
GO BIRDS!! Good hat!!
What brand of expoxy is this?
here is what I used - amzn.to/47DJm04
It looks good but is it rough? It looks rough
The lumber seems very good qualities compared to mine 😢
We all saw that the little piece of concrete was already separated 😅 guy just caped
Why was Julia the only one wearing a mask?
I thought it was illegal to have your sump pump dump into city sewage?
Depends on the city. We own a house in a college town and it’s mandatory to run the basement sump into the sewer. This causes sewer backup in parts of the town due to the volume of water during big storms. Stupidest code I’ve ever heard of. This is why occasionally the basement I’m looking to epoxy get water backup in the sump pump side. Also the old terra cotta sewer pipes can’t handle the volume as well!
You said you don't get water? There is an inch gap between your slab and your wall!
Really I have to see this lol
I Should have painted the walls with some dryloc before doing the floor. Floor Looks great
I would never buy a house with a concrete block foundation as in the future it is more likely to leak than a properly poured concrete foundation.
Looks great
