Yes. But you can display puppies being kicked using cgi and stuff, ie without hurting actual puppies. It goes the same way with displaying death on screen, or any kind of violence for that matter.
Yet sometimes all that is required to show how fucked up something is, is just holding a camera on it. Typical american reaction tho. Maybe don‘t judge the fake film with actors that were supervised and had mental counseling for those actors, when you have the real deal on american tv.
I remember a female year 8 teacher recruiting students to be part of her sexual escapades. The director of this soft child porn was also a woman. When a cougar dates a guy younger than half her age we say you go girl. I constantly hear stories about young female teachers dating students, although usually only small age gap but still a student. We slam men for being the bad guys and sometimes you are right, but there are a lot more female perverts hiding in plain sight than society cares to admit
Yeah! Like this director could be the new Ghislaine Maxwell...Wait, also French?🤔 Is there something about French culture that there's a pattern emerging from there? That other director of The Professional I think also, forgot his name but was in the news

It’s funny how “Cuties” movie is an award winning film that got pushed to the forefront while the “Sound of Freedom” a movie about exposing sex trafficking and pedophilia got swept under the rug by the same Netflix & others.
Sound of Freedom is overrated and full of fantasies, but Cuties producers/directors/writers should never do anything in the film industry (or any job related to kids) ever again, let alone there should be some fires lit...

Exactly. The only reason the director sort of gets away with it is because she was born with a vagina. Because politics. Yet I remember the absolute bashing the (male) director of Blue is the warmest color got for exploiting those 2 (adult) actresses for his movie. Because politics. Our society is so hypocritical it blows my mind. Don't you dare objectifying wahmen but eleven year olds twerking is somehow all right, because deep or something. Or you get off on it. @@endoghost4396There were still male producers on this though. And I mean the fact it was written AND directed by a WOMAN, is also all the more troubling. Especially with the fact you know idiots try to argue, "Uh, women can't be P*DOS!" Why not? P**ophilia is not a MALE attraction only, it is not a sex-based thing only, any male OR female can be a predator. I think the fact that IT WAS A WOMAN, is what makes it all the more creepy to me. Just thinking about a woman, even more than a man, putting hands on a minor in an suggestive way is disturbing.
Imagine being one of the little girls who acted in this movie, not understanding the implications of what you’re doing, being proud of your work, and then seeing the reality of the situation unfold online. How dare these people put these girls through this.
As far as I know the director went out of her way to take care of the mental well being of the children. Bringing in counselors and mental health experts to look after them during filming. I'm sure those girls were made aware of exactly what they were doing. Children in the entertainment industry tend to grow up mentally quicker than other kids as they are exposed to the darker side of humanity early on.
B Marti They were aware only what the team told them, which we have no idea what was said so they totally could’ve spun it to make it seem okay in the kids’ eyes. That doesn’t really excuse the fact that chances are that the nasty men who watch this movie and like what they see if extreme enough could come after these children and stalk them. This movie is forever. It will be posted on terrible sites and that’s just a fact and terrible people may come wanting to do things to them. The director, parents of the children and that doctor she brought in are complicit in the hardships these children may face in the future because of this film. Also the fact that children mentally age quicker in the film industry isn’t concerning to you? they’re KIDS and it’s a job they likely didn’t choose. Soooo many child stars are scarred forever because of their jobs. You can’t make a film claiming to be about the implications of child exploitation then literally exploit the children in the movie.
I’m still amazed by how some people want to make this political. No matter your political stance you should agree that pedophilia and the exploitation of children is wrong.
Robert Reid that’s a whole lot words that come off as defensive.. got something else you would like to share? Look, if something is wrong and gross, that’s as simple as it needs to be. And everyone should call it outfit what it is. Why are you trying to create an unnecessary divide?
Initially I was under the impression, based on things said by the creator, that this movie was suppose to be criticizing the sexualization of children through a coming of age story. And I was totally down for that idea. But that is not what we got. By any means. And I'm so incredibly disappointed. Like using actual kids for this movie is fucking abusive and I'm disgusted. I legit do not understand why ANYONE thought it was appropriate to use children for this. I haven't seen any footage uncensored and I feel like I belong on a watch list just for seeing the censored content. I defended this movie before we saw it because I was working on an idea and I can't even explain how disappointed I am in myself for that.
I don't think you should be disappointed in yourself for wanting to defend a movie you honestly believed would have a heavy anti-CP/child exploitation message. That's a great message for anything to have, and you didn't have the full film available to you yet. But clearly the film isn't what you and many others hoped it would be, and changing your opinion on something in light of new information is perfectly justified. What a fucking disgusting film.
Kayla Lewis I haven’t watched, yet I’ve heard the message is actually against child exploitation. Still I couldn’t get past the fact it stars 11yr olds playing 11yrs being sexually exploited. Yet rated MA meant for mature audiences because of it’s mature nature, they couldn’t even watch it legally🤷♀️

As Lewis Spears once said, “ Guys, you're missing the point of Cuties. The director says it's about how BAD sexualising children is. Clearly the only way to prove that is by doing it. This is why, when explaining to my kids they shouldn't do drugs, I will be injecting the youngest with black tar heroin”
This movie could have easily be made really well and actually achieve its intended purpose. I don't understand anyone thought this was a good idea. The plot is just lazy in itself. With proper character/plot development and without all the excessive sexual shots, could have really worked if done well. Like, we get it, the girls are being super sexualized and abused. We don't need to see it the entire movie to get the point across. I would even be fine if it was one scene. It would have done its intended job.
@@highrise This movie displays sexualized dancing acts of kids. Like any other "beauty" contest with kids. Normal people feel disgust by the reaction of the audience at the end of the film and some commentators here can't distinct between movie storytelling and reality. Like any polarizing piece of Art this should start a discussion(My intent is not to defend the movie or the way the story is transported). And by that I don't mean shouting loud "PEDO" and then move to the next video. Most likely all of you have at least one piece of clothing that is made by children or drink coffee picked by children. This kind of exploitation, no schools, no clean water, a marriage with 12, etc. is what we should do something about. We all are part of the problem and no one wants to hear that or talk about it. And yes, Nicole, I think like you, that nobody would have needed this film. However, the discussion is long overdue and: ... only morons kill the messenger.

@@justinstevenson3835 I haven't seen the movie, but I can see exactly how it got made. I never saw the movie but the trailer and just the fact that it's about teens 11 -13 year olds reminds me of my school years were I was bullied by girls that were exactly like them. Speaking as a hypersexual that started off that way as a kid, I 10000% agree with you. I'd actually murder someone for filming even a child actor playing my childhood during those times. There's a difference between telling a story and making what can best be described as softcore porn about it.
It feels like whichever side gets to an atrocity first claims ownership of hating it, and then the other side has to pretend to support the thing just to try and undermine the other
With literally HUNDREDS of shows that have had adults portray high school students, why couldn't they use adults that looked the part...but yeah know its a "subtle film exposing child exploitation"
There's nothing wrong with casting child actors for a film like this. The problem is the framing and the messaging. This film could have told the same story in an entirely different way. They chose to make it essentially a pedo film, because that's the film they wanted to make.
"I beat a dog to death with my bare hands on camera to show the world that animal abuse is wrong." Big brain individual, the person who made this dumpster fire.
You know that whole, "Children can't consent," thing? Yeah, that doesn't just apply to sex. The children in this film were sexualised by the adults behind the camera for the entire world to see. If you disagree with the fact that that just is not okay then you're just messed up.
By that retarded line of reasoning it's ok to starve children to death, because they can't consent to food. Act against someone's expressed wishes if you must, but don't pretend like those wishes do not exist. To do so would be the blackest form of totalitarianism.
@@MrCmon113 Man I think what the dude was talking about was children cant consent to anything sexual Not anything like food. The guy meant to say children cant consent to their own sexual exploitation.
Honestly, I think it's more accurate to say that children can't give _informed_ consent, especially where sexual matters are concerned, because they aren't developed or experienced enough to fully understand it. Though for all intents and purposes there's little difference when we're talking about this type of thing. I'm just cautious not to imply that children can't make any decisions about their future, because I know there are some people who believe that too and I disagree. What I want to know is what self-respecting parent could have thought this was a good idea. I can't believe they were _all_ trying to exploit their kids for fame, nor do I think they were all completely ignorant. But maybe I'm giving people too much credit.
You know i kinda like that this movie exist... Before it you literary had no idea if your neighbour or malesman or your favorite youtuber was a pedo or not, now you just have to say "cuties is disgusting and netflix is full of pedo's" and anyone that tries to defend them with some bullshit strawman arguement can be immidietly placed on your personal pedo hunt list without fearing you'll get a normal person.
Making this movie in an attempt to say "child exploitation bad" is like peta trying to solve animal cruelty by kidnapping people's pets and murdering them
Telling me sexualizing kids is wrong while sexualizing them is no different then saying animal abuse is wrong and then kick a puppy to show me it's wrong
exactly, the ones defending it using gender and race don't care that it's sexualising kids, they are only using it as a weapon for their views. Then you get the % of media that are so far out the "Darling! show me something different, I don't want to see the type of movie, shock me me me me!!!" that they back anything that's different, even if it's stupid.
okay but I DON'T KNOW - It’s a good tactic by the media; reframe the issue to be “This is only what your enemies believe” and it usually works to discourage people from taking it serious. It sure tells you how much the media values their agenda over truth.
Imaging arresting a paedophile and he goes on saying"I was just trying to show that paedophilia is not good" yeah and that's the vibe I get from this movie.

Maddy more like the parents
c.v.11 in my eyes the parents are in the group of people who allowed this to happen to these children, they’re also to blame.
Its disgusting the parents and director should be in jail

And no one ever talked about that scene and nothing ever changed. Weird.
... wut
@@0228christian and you think that something will change now? 😂
@@rozzbourn the message didn't get across. That was my entire point. I've never heard anyone talk about that scene before today, so it didn't do a damn thing.
Christian Reeb sure, but even though (I assume) the intentions behind cuties was good, guess who is going to end up actually watching it? A large group of disgusting pedophiles for sure. Attention isn’t always good attention and this movie exploited kids to send out the message. It’s like saying shooting cops is the only way to promote BLM .-.
FYI, the original french title "Mignonnes" is basically pronounced like "Minions", which implies that Cuties is set in the Despicable Me universe.

-Leftists
"i used the stones to destroy the stones"

TBF, that's more the director. More accurately:
"We figured the pedos might like to watch it, and critics don't seem to care so it's probably uncontroversial enough." -Netflix, probably.
-Epstein and every other pedophile who watches this movie
You need to be an intellectual, to understand that reality is irrelevant, because intellectuals say so. They've been teaching this in colleges for decades.
This is like stopping racism by calling everyone the N word
are you saying that _doesn't_ solve racism?
That would do more to solve racism than this movie did to fight child sexual exploitation. Nbs
@H T nobody would be upset with it... Except, of course, black people
@OMP - no
@OMP - and your response doesn't make institutional racism disappear 🤗
literally, the second news story when googling "cuties" is by The Guardian that begins the article:
"It's inspiring to see the left and right of the US finally unite to create a bipartisan statement: there is a French movie that is bad and we should do something about it."
Both, this video and that story, were posted on Monday but ShoeOnHead probably recorded, edited and uploaded it on saturday and sunday
Light Bearer the left is definitely against it
It's what they wanted Trump to be. A figure for everyone to hate.
Light Bearer wait so all reviewers are leftist now??? Wtf??? If that was true the hurt locker would be panned. As would all the Nolan Batman movies and Argo and a whole bunch of other movies loved by mainstream reviewers
@ don't go too far left or you'll be a shithead extremist probably sporting some antifi bullshit, don't go too far right or you'll be a shithead extremist probably sporting some Nazi bullshit. As long as you accept the phrase "everything in moderation" then you're probably safe from being a political extremist and/or a Stalin or Hitler fangirl.
Edit: also my point is, what's the point of being a fuckwit to centrists (when it comes to the presidency at least) they pick the person who makes the most sense and actually has a snowball's chance in hell at doing more than just soaking up a couple hundred votes and falling back into obscurity.
Welcome to the children's dance industry. I grew up with my whole family involved in competitive dance(jazz, ballet, hip-hop), the entire industry is like this. They actively grade performances and outfits on their sex appeal, at all ages.
Stay tuned for Netflix's next debut, 'Adorable'. A movie that looks to inform viewers of animal cruelty, by abusing animals for an hour and a half.
at this point, that will probably be a thing next year.
It's actual title is "Tiger King"

Kiddie porn is okay if the director is a woman? Or Black? Or French?
Is that the message?

Unequivocally, YES. Because any criticism, no matter how legit, is immediately shut down due to any or all of those factors.

People were upset about Joker but turn around and promote this. Wtf is wrong with people?
It’s because people are sheep who put way too much trust in what mass media personalities tell them about movies they’ve never watched. The stupid reality is, most of those “hot takes” about Joker, Cuties, and other films are little more than clickbait. Excessively / irresponsibly divisive clickbait.

Shoe, the grossest part of this film is that hundreds of little girls auditioned for the main role and none of them got the part, they just went with an actress that one of the producers already knew. Think about that. Hundred of little girls doing sexual dances for adults, while the adults must have known they weren't going to pick any of them.
