    now this is a good and travel channel. I know when the first 3 times I come to Dumaguete I had no clue where or what to do and Google maps here shows only a very tiny bit. and wrong locations and old outdated info. and Henry here is telling it like it is and not sending you out to bad places. so come on out to Dumaguete. and the night life here is good and safe. just don't come here if your looking for bar girls because you will be in the wrong place. the people of Dumaguete are mostly Catholic and have better morals.

    Hi Reekay. Met a few filipina while dating in New York. One thing lead to another and I started checking out your vlog. Last month took my first trip to Philippines to check it out, partly because of your vlog. Most the time was spent in Malapascua Island, scuba diving, but then on a whim I made my way to Dumaguete. Great place, wonder restaurants, very inviting.
    I was just planning my next scuba trip. An expat at the Dumaguete airport recommended Dauin. I search RUclips for reviews of Pura Vida Resort and imagine my surprise to see a vlog from you. Great vlog. It looks like a really nice place. Probably where I'm heading in December/January.
    Thanks again for all your vlogs. Maybe if I spend more time in the Philippines I'll bump into you.

    The ambiance is worth the prices. Spotlessly clean. But the place looks empty. They need to attract more tourism.

    • @pinkyswear8022
      @pinkyswear8022 5 лет назад

      Wayne Samuel Some tourists go out and about and explore the town or they go to the city.. so it looks like it is empty. There is also another resort just outside the fence of pura vida, it’s called El Dorado. However, if you make a stroll along the beach, either towards North or towards the south there are other resorts too.

    Henry, do any of the resorts you have been to (on the beach) have boats you can rent? Speed boats :) Thanks

    • @Lifebeyondthesea
      @Lifebeyondthesea  7 лет назад

      no speed boats that i've seen. on boracay and other places, you can rent jet skis, para-ski and water-hover units. most of the boats up for charter are for either island hopping, snorkel and/or scuba 1-day excursions.

    Good video Henry- that resort looks very big and expensive. Just wondering
    is it owned by a group of investors, or just 1 person. I was thinking there is
    hardly anybody there, so whoever owns it must have big bucs $$$$ Maybe
    it could be government owned, but I doubt that. I wouldn't have thought people
    in the Phils would have that kind of money, being a poor country, but I guess
    it must have some really rich people ? I thought most resorts would be very
    small, and pretty basic, but that one looks very fancy.

    • @Lifebeyondthesea
      @Lifebeyondthesea  7 лет назад

      my buddy, tony, visits there often and he says sometimes it's busy.. other times not. i've seen the same with other resorts.. peak seasons and times where it's quiet.

    • @Lifebeyondthesea

      the two least expensive that come to mind are Abduliah's Hotel and Harold's Mansion. Harold's is popular with scuba people who just need a place to crash, kinda like a hostel with a place to eat and patio on the roof. ned has done a video there i'm almost sure at 'philippinesdreams'.

      if they do it like the BLM in usa, it's likely the PH govt owns the uninhabited, non-purchased islands.
