I miss when my dad was still around to pick my crabs for me. He would pick crab after crab and make a huge pile on a plate and then i would pick up the whole pile and shove it in 😆 all the time he put into picking those crabs and then it was gone just like that. Then he would start the process all over again. Appreciate your parents while they are still around ❤

Mustard Yellow substance found inside a cooked crab. Contrary to popular belief, the "mustard" is not fat, rather it's the crab's hepatopancreas, the organ responsible for filtering impurities from the crab's blood.

local Marylander here i usually pull the small legs off and leave the back fins on and pull the back fin meat straight from the knuckle and use a crab mallet on the claws a knife works just as good too make sure after you crack the body and half you also crack it in the quarters again to get even more meat out of it, and don’t forget to eat the yellow stuff a.k.a. the mustard it’s delicious, If you pick every crab this way, they’ll be no meat left at all in the crab, peace🦀 🤘

@@yogamma2337 I'm still trying to figure out why this man has a knife. Born and raised in Baltimore, been eating crabs since before I can remember. Never seen a knife at the table, or used a mallet. Everybody knows you get in there with your hands. All them tools are time consuming. Who uses a knife to crack a claw? If you're not good enough to break the claw at the hinge and pull the meat out then you just bite it and crack it open. Add that to the fact that this man steamed his crabs in JO Seasoning (blasphemy) & not Old Bay and I'm now starting to question if he is really a Marylander. I'm not even sure he steamed them in Natty Boh, smh.
On a side note, don't disrespect Louisiana on the seafood game, G. I know we feel like we are the end all be all on crabs being from Maryland and all, but if there's one person in the world outside of MD that knows their way around a crab, he's from Louisiana.
