Thank you so much for the continuous tutorials. I love being able to learn stuff I couldnt do. As a beginner you help me so much. Never stop doing what you are doing
Chris, you are awesome. Your tutorials take a layman to expert so well. I love how you teach someone how to sell the illusion rather than just perform a half-ass trick. Keep kicking Copperfield to the curb.
I have been in the magic game for all of 2-3months now...currently (nov-2018) I'm practicing my thumb fan and I've probably done about 300 during this video plus a 100 or so turnover passes. I can do the snap change pretty well now that was the first thing I wanted to learn. I'm 30 btw and I just found something new that Im digging and who would of thought it would be card tricks of all things, Chris Ramsay is such a G in this magic game on youtube, gotta be the best host out there, love the puzzle solve vidz man. Big ups!
Mr. Ramsay, Thank you for making these vids. I used to do magic with my dad to learn hand eye cordination and performance (had lots of difficulties as a child); he passed...i had life issues and am now relearning basics... These give me hope i might perform again one day... Bless you.
Chris, tomorrow I'm going to buy my first deck of playing cards. By now I'm practing coin magics, because is all I got and I'm loving it. I learned some basic tricks to vanish and teleport coins. It's being greatful to see the reaction of my friends when I perform. As you thought me, I'm using our normal daily conversations to call a magic trick and suddenly the coin desappear in front of their eyes! They say "Wow, can you do it again?!", and as you thaught me, I use this as a call for another trick.
@Fiky man is spot on with that tip, Cardini(One of the all-time greats) used to use bridge sized cards for most of his performances that involved palming, no shame in it
I was thinking about magic and revealing the tricks. I might be wrong, but I would like to share my thoughts. Some people might complain about the actual exposure magic is receiving, but I believe that the more people talk about how to do magic, the more magic will keep alive. Why? Because I noticed that even before understanding and learning how to do a trick, I still enjoy watching magic tricks. After learning how to do the same trick that blew your mind and realising that you can't do it as clean as the magician, makes it much more valuable. I believe that as for sports, when you understand what's going on, you can have another perception of a match, but some people don't like to play or study the game. The same for magic, some people like just to watch, others like to study and practice. The more people studying and pushing magic forward, the better for all magicians and public.
*Fernando Araujo* Imo, there are many difference between exposure and teaching. The main one being intent. Teaching videos are made with the intention of helping other people perform the trick properly. They include multiple tips to make the sleights easier and the performance better. Channels like Chris, PigCake, and Xavior Spade among many others fall into this category. They truly want to get more people into magic. Exposure videos will often just show the method for the sake of revealing the method. This would be like Magic’s Biggest Secrets Revealed, Yamato, etc. They just want attention for exposing secrets.
Hey Chris, I just wanted to say that you are such a big inspiration to me and I look up to you so much. I found you and you got me intro magic, and now I am starting a magic channel because of you. I hope one day I could meet you, if you ever came to Virginia, or New York maybe. Anyways, I just wanted to tell you how much you have changed my life, and inspired me. Also, can’t wait for my 2 decks of 1st playing cards to come! Much love, Nick :)
I ended up getting good at this. I incorporate this move with the drop. Where you leave the top card (2) hanging over the edge. And when you drop the whole deck your card flips over. So I use this to vanish their card, hold the whole deck up, drop it. And boom their is their card on top of deck flipped over on its own (from the drop). Blows their minds. Simply mixing 2 of your tricks together you taught me.
It's a bit more effective if you angle the card off the top of the deck at an angle, pinning it with your thumb by the corner. That way, it seems as far away from the deck as possible and looks like it *couldn't possibly* move back onto the deck without being visibly out of square. But, in fact, it pivots around the tip of your index finger and lines up perfectly.
I need to get into youtube. This is one of those slieghts that just work well because its easy and pretty convincing when done right (pulled back. A form of retention) and you managed a 15 mins video! I'm in!
i watched this 100 times and I still didn't learn a thing ! i couldn't stop laughing . Rammy, dude , you're hilarious ! i was having a really bad week . Thank You !!!
I wanted to Thank You for showing this amazing trick!!!! I watched this the other day and got the chance to try it out with some friends just a minute ago..... Watching their eyes light up was Magical!!!!!

I see your tutorials are more dedicated to card tricks, but I always wanted to learn the coin trick, with one in each corner and just moving them to one corner by covering them with the palms. If you teach it you'll be my new found god.
After the +30 videos I have watched since being a sub, you have finally convinced me to start learning magic. Just seeing the fun you have in doing it, and seeing it, has shown me a different perspective on magicians. Keep up the great content and hope your voice comes back soon😂

Honestly as good as this tutorial is, I come back for the personality and the character that is Chris Ramsey, I saw this effect on another channel before but the effect came across so monotone because of the person who made the video, but your presentation of it makes it look like you could do so much more with it and you make it a little more enjoyable. Also I noticed you weren't wearing the rings you usually wear, I hope there hasn't been a fallout in the sentimental value found in the ring
One day at the pub i saw a guy coming by to drink a beer. He asked the set of cards we usually use to play belote. It was the only one set of cards in that pub and they were all dirty i remember them good. The guy came at the table right on my side i was having a drink with my gf at of that time. He started playing alone with the cards while drinking his beer he had a t'shirt and short for it was summer time so he couldn't hide any other sets of cards on his arms or anywhere. He was started showing cards for himself it was normal set all cards nothing special then he mixed them and show them again and boom all the cards when in perfect order 1 2 3 4 5 and so on of the same color. He mixed them again and show them now they were all kings then same thing with queens and aces then he mixed them again and boom all mixed up then again all in order. I was like 50cm of him on his side. I had never figured out how the hell he did that and right under my noze... i didn't sleep that night trying to understand how the hell he did that and still to this day i wonder how it is possible to do so. 4:58 look how much of a difference it makes to get that top card square onto the deck. That's the only difference between the real and fake, but it makes all the difference
Thats because gay doesnt exist, man is made to be loved or feel attracted to woman, woman is made to be loved or feel attracted by man Simple example, when 2 of them are sleeping, you know which part of man is going into the woman, God took care for everything, and thats how children are made, 2 man or 2 woman cant naturally have children

I love your videos Chris, and I love the way you show the tricks and explain them and also give props to other magicians. Especially I like your puzzle solving, you are the man! So in this video I particularly love your jacket, where does that come from? Di did you magic that, or was it slight of hand?
Nice Chris, loved the outro with the "Wash" button. Hilarious. I'd be excited to hear more about what you learned and the convention this past week. Looks like you may have added a few things to this video that I haven't seen before with the editing. Two thumbs up!!! #RamFam
Such a strong effect. I first learned this when I learned the invisible palm routine by Wayne Houchin. I appreciate your explanation of the psychology - prompts more handlings as utility vanish! Keep up the great work, Chris!
Thank you for getting me back into magic, it's been a while since I've looked into this stuff and I found you from your puzzle locks but I found your magic stuff and I'm pretty floored by some of your stuff. I have learned a lot more terminology from your videos, like flash, not to mention seeing some of the inner workings of different tricks. I honestly love the trick more when I see the skill behind it, and I appreciate the skill just as much as the overall illusion.
I thought the version without protrusion on the other side looked a lot cleaner. But that's probably cause I guessed what you were about to do and looked for it so I noticed you returning the card onto the deck. I thought the version at 5:27 looked much cleaner and even looking for it it didn't feel like you returned the card.
Been testing this out and I feel like I'm awful at it but no one's noticed what I'm doing. Still, I need to get better at it in order to incorporate it into a larger trick. Though I feel like there ought to be an easier way to accomplish what I'm trying to do... Anyhoo. Some of your stuff has been pretty helpful in crafting larger routines, and I appreciate it.

I'm envious of your mits Ramsay. My fingers are so skinny, with so many windows, I can barley palm a card
at least you can move your thumb to do this move, I'm just a small magician with small hands XD, please let me grow bigger hands.
I have huge hands (can palm a basketball) and it gets a bit awkward with the deck
Buy Bicycle cards bridge size, they are slightly smaller in width than standard cards
I have tiny, skinny hands for a 13 year-old.
