Lara and Tendulkar, 2 of the best batsmen of any era. While I grew up watching Tendulkar, we in India as kids knew that FAR AWAY IN THE WEST "INDIAN" team the world's best left handed batsman was making news everywhere. Privileged to have watched both these batsmen play and inspire us as kids
His ability to score at such an incredible rate separates him from the other greats. It allows him to break records. Which makes him the greatest of all time
The ability to score under tremendous pressure, to win matches, save matches, to avoid white washes etc.... one man show vs opponent ....salute to BCL...
He was feared by all teams around the world during 90s. Believe me, every opponent breathed sigh of relief when they saw his back. A tough competitor and a humble human being he was. Respect & love from Pakistan.
One of the best to have ever done it while being so charismatic yet professional at a young age. Never boastful just an overall great person and ambassador of the sport.
In 1994, after having lived for eighteen (18) years in the USA where cricket is not a major sport, I had lost touch with cricket which was my favorite spectator sport, in spite of the fact that I had played soccer better than I played cricket. But when I learned that a West Indian was poised to break Sobers' world record, a dream that I have had since 1963 when I started listening to cricket, my interest in the game was fully revived. I stayed home from work to follow it. That night was the first time that I saw cricket on American TV. It was the "Play of the Day" on ESPN. My revived interest in cricket has never waned since then. Lara has replaced Sir Garfield Sobers as my number 1 cricket hero, especially since he achieved my dream for West Indies cricket, not once, but twice.
I emigrated to the US in the early 80s...lost touch with cricket until the late 90s...a weekly (free) Caribbean newspaper in Richmond hill queens NYC was new & out & after picking it up, now & again, started seeing & reading about cricket, it was how i got back into the game! I was like, this is my game; I was opening batsman for my high school...would you believe that I still haven't gotten into American sports!? DJT is probably not happy about that! 😃
Debate on who is greatest is more personal. But it's sad to see West Indies not having the same great players in Test these days. Their Legendary bowling unit will always be missed!
In 1995 all foreign players use to say India is the most difficult place to be and now in 2021 players all over the world play cricket to be in INDIA,to play the IPL and benefit from the riches. What a change. But LARA is my all time favorite player. He was an artist.
The best batsman in my time of watching. I know there is lots of greats depending how far you go back or forward but this guy for me was unreal. Style, mental strength, attacking mentality. MASSIVE SCORES ❤
The most stylish batsman. A hero who single handedly won tough matches. No batsman can reach his caliber. This is not just scroing runs but winning matches in a stylish way. TheGreat BrianLara
in modern day, brian lara was the most transcendent individual of cricket. I mean, you had lara marchs coming out till 2006/07, code masters I think did a nice little tribute to him with brian lara cricket 07, which is not a bad game btw. so to all the memories and the huge impact Lara had on cricket Thank you Lara
I recall someone having told me that both played with the same weighted bat by slazenger. Was it the v -500? Both he and Sachin were equals if not better! However I always felt Lara looked more classy ! I guess all Left handed batsmen had that trait. They look more elegant while in rhythm. However both their techniques were very unique. Sachin had the infamous low hand grip whereas Lara had that unique high back lift.😘 Awsum. Huge fan from India 🇮🇳

I remember like yesterday I was in standard four in primary school and they sent us home they said go watch the cricket Lara's going to break sobers world record now my deceased grandfather and his brothers loved cricket and so did I we'd stay up all night when west indies played in Australia India Pakistan or new Zealand so even at that age I knew I had to see for myself I'll tell my kids about it you hear they must know
He has not done justice to his talent when he finished his career..his test average should have been 70 and odi 50..He slipped from his top rating and made less competent players to get compare to him..He is a sheer talent and the best batsman of his era without a shadow of doubt..If anyone had read sportstar article of 1993-1996, they all know who Lara is and his capability..
I always enjoyed him if he is not playing i don't watch cricket i wait on till Brian lara ready to bat before i start to watch the game the best bats man in history when I use to play cricket in school and every one else we use to call our self Brian lara we all want to be like him the best batsman in the world love and respect him love coming from Jamaica Brian lara 👍👍👍👍
Was Brian Lara then until retirement, Now it is AB de Villiers , both make this game look easy. ''AB is not from this planet '' , he took the potent Aussie attack and makes them ordinary. AB de Villiers is the heir apparent to Brian Lara. Blessed to have seen both in my lifetime ...... Only wish if I could have seen Graeme Pollock.
Great bowlers great batsmen such a great era I have seen in my life time. Lara sachin ponting wasim akram Rahul Dravid, McGrath Steve Waugh, Walsh Ambrose, warne Jayasuriya, Sangakkara Ganguly, Donald. Shoaib Akhtar.
Almost fifty years of WI cricket genius ended with his retirement. Now we watch merely the ordinary but I keep hoping. Viv made his own template and nobody so far has been able to emulate him. Lara's little half-steps on a cover drive was reminiscent of Sobers. Darren Bravo's and Hetmyer's hooks are reminiscent of Lara's but they haven't even come close to him so far. I guess we were spoiled but Keep Hope Alive, LOL!
i donot believe in role model beacuse God given strength to every humenbeing but lara is special.if i ever wish to meet in my life it is lara.he was special different then every body.God bless you.

Growing up in India, everyone loved and looked up to Tendulkar. Me being left hand, Brian Lara was my favourite!
For me also

Absolutely. BTW, Tendulkar is a lefty who played right-handed 😊
Just met the great Brian Lara. What a humble gentleman. The time he took to meet my boy and sign some bats. A very special human. Thank You SIr.
Brian Charles Lara the greatest batsman ever to hold a cricket bat.
C
I've been watching cricket since 1993 and to this day he is the best I've ever seen.
His ability to score at such an incredible rate separates him from the other greats. It allows him to break records. Which makes him the greatest of all time
The ability to score under tremendous pressure, to win matches, save matches, to avoid white washes etc.... one man show vs opponent ....salute to BCL...
Pretty close - not far behind our Don.
The great Don played 85% of his matches vs one team (England). surely you cannot compare him to modern day cricketers. @@andrewmaroc113
Still makes my eyes teary every time I see that shot. Even now. Long live the king of cricket; Brian Charles Lara.
Yup
miss him...cricket isn't the same anymore without players like Lara....amazing player with great sportmanship
He was feared by all teams around the world during 90s. Believe me, every opponent breathed sigh of relief when they saw his back. A tough competitor and a humble human being he was. Respect & love from Pakistan.
Brian Lara is the greatest of all time simply the best
As a boy growing up in Jamaica 🇯🇲 I used to idolize this man
One of the best to have ever done it while being so charismatic yet professional at a young age. Never boastful just an overall great person and ambassador of the sport.
The man come back and break his own record he's a true legend.....👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
from my careful analysis lara is the greatest batsman of all time
In 1994, after having lived for eighteen (18) years in the USA where cricket is not a major sport, I had lost touch with cricket which was my favorite spectator sport, in spite of the fact that I had played soccer better than I played cricket. The only sad thing about Lara's career is he didn't get too play in a strong side.
Great attitude.. stay blessed SIR
He must be one of the handsomest cricketers ever.
in modern day, brian lara was the most transcendent individual of cricket.

A B is great. But its a toss up between him and Virat Khol for me. Personally i love A B, but one cant ignore Virat's talents and performances.
At 4 :38 the kid u see batting is darren bravo
Great bowlers great batsmen such a great era I have seen in my life time.
Lara sachin ponting wasim akram Rahul Dravid, McGrath Steve Waugh, Walsh Ambrose, warne Jayasuriya, Sangakkara Ganguly, Donald. Shoaib Akhtar.
But Lara was the greatest batsman of that era. Followed by Sachin
@@sonofabraham2085 I would go for Dravid over Lara
The best batsman in the world Lara is a great batsman in theworld

What a piece of history!
Brian is a genius stylist batting machine. Or sorry humachine
All time greatest batsman Brian lara,
He is my favourite batsman.
Before there was anything like Brand Kohli, Lara was perhaps cricket's undisputed megasuperstar, alongside Shane Warne and Sachin Tendulkar.
In this documentary his 400 is not documented.. One of the legend and best left handed batsman ever..
Great sir brin Lara is all time
Original little master hasnif record broken by extra ordinary batsmen Prince Lara
is that Darren Bravo at 4:30?

Isn't that small left handed child is Darren bravo
That little boy batting at 4:28 looks like Darren Bravo, can anyone corroborate this?
It is definitely him!
I Love Lara for his artcraft
Just realized that its Darren Bravo 4:30
if Brian Lara didn't rejected captaincy WEST INDIES in 2002, later on after wc 2007, he wouldn't have got kicked out from international level.
Little boy batting in the streets has to be Darren bravo
Lara is the best ever
4:28/4:29 Darren Bravo
Looking so
Was that Darren bravo with the bat almost as tall as him n pants falling off?
My childhood hero always supported Lara and west Indies all my life 🤗
i donot believe in role model beacuse God given strength to every humenbeing but lara is special.if i ever wish to meet in my life it is lara.he was special different then every body.God bless you.
