The best batsman I have ever seen,I have him slightly ahead of Sachin because of the way he played spin, his footwork was insane and he could easily change a match single handedly with lots of pressure on his team
Well, I saw a local interview of Sanath Jayasuriya with Rex Clementine which was so interesting, wanted to see a similar one of Lara. I searched for and found this. Exactly same interviews of two of the greatests.
When you talk about Brian, you wouldn't miss to talk about Sachin and vice versa. That is the impact that both these batsmen had on the game of cricket. Both respected each other and enjoyed playing against each other. Those days are unforgettable.
Sachin's and Lara's arrivals at the crease were more awaited by the opposition themselves than their own teammates and bowlers who dismissed them were more disappointed than delighted coz the fun value they gave when in full flow.
Thanks much for sharing this video with us, with The Legend Mr Brian Charles Lara, I wish I could listening to you an your interview all day. All the good to you and your children. One Love my Brother, when you come to Jamaica 🇯🇲 in the Future please let me meet you face to face. I adopted from you the way you looked down on the pitch before A bowler bowl is delivery ,I practice such in my driving 🚗 every time i approaches on intersection of a road ,I uses the same principle, I will never weary watching videos while you were batting. You're a great man., Nuff respect My Brother.
The 28-odd minutes just flew by! Thank youfor sharing this. There is a beautiful blend of pride & self-confidence, coupled with candour & humility, in the way he speaks. That extra word of praise for McGrath (at the 26.05 mark), beyond the standard courteous response, reveals a very gracious man. I was born in the same month & year as him but have a school-boy like admiration for this man's batting abilities.
Don't worry Brian your dad is looking at you and be very proud for what you've done so far, such a treat to watch you style of batting and technique, there never be a brian lara again....
As an Aussie, I hated the fact Brian smashed our attack over, and over again. But, I never hated the Man. It was always a double edge sword, I Wanted Brian to get out early, as that was good for Australia's chances of winning. But, I wanted to see Brian bat as well... You don't have to be a Cricket Tragic to see just how Amazing Brian was. Even casual watchers were impressed by how Brian played. And the Pressure he was under, at a time when a Titan of a team had a down turn, this is when Brian played, with the pressure of making the WI's Great again, on his shoulders alone. Just a True World Champion of Cricket, and Sport in general, on and off the field. Nothing but respect.
That 213 was his best innings. Majestic stuff. The 153* was great, but given the situation of the series, the latter would rank second. The best player of spin bowling.
Cricket legend MrBRIAN LARA.Outstanding performer.Nice gentleman, got love admiration from all parts of world..Big big achivement. His drives are very spl
I gush when i think about him batting, he was a perfect mix of flare and discipline. Great to watch but valued his wicket more than anything else. Picked the gaps and rarely hit the ball in the air (unless the field was up). The right approach with natural ability to match. The greatest of all time!
It's his absolute best. Against a young Warne with Allan Border a hard arse smart captain to conquer. Brian Lara goes out a achieves first test century away at the SCG finishing runout 277 without a chance offered with the best display of keeping the ball on the deck as the ball disappeared through the gap
Interesting, you mention the colossus of Rhodes. I was in Rhodes a few weeks ago...and yes for the most part of his career Lara was singularly responsible for keeping WI cricket alive..
As a 90's kid .. I saw the golden era of cricket players like lara.ponting. mark Waugh . Gilchrist. Jayasuriya. Wasim. Waqar. Murali.kallis. warne. Sachin. Dravid. Fleming and I can go on and on.
I agreed lara is ahead of sachin Tendulkar cause not just the scores or anything but brian consistency performed in a team with a team that didn't have much else batting talent and sachin was great but he had a lot of batting talent to back him up if he got out cheap where as brian was always pressured to perform
Sir Don Bradman, who averaged 99+ at #4?🤣 Sachin Tendulkar behind Yasswi Jaiswal, Virendra Sahwag, Ricky Ponting, Rahul Dravid and Inzamam-ul-Haq?🤣 What, did you reference a computer game or something?
Caribbean should thank being their stars in being a British Commonwealth. All their easy access, visas, exposure etc came from that. It's much harder in a huge population country in Asia.
Don’t speak on what you don’t know? What easy access? We also need visa for most countries. The British took more from us than anyone else…our cricket would be a lot better today if guys like Jordan and archer didn’t play for England over their home countries.
@notnice5100 most of the Caribbean (WI) only need visa for USA and have very strong passports. Jamaica Haiti and Guyana may be a bit behind but they'll catch up eventually.
At his best, there was no other sight in world cricket than to watch him bat.
Legendary. I rate him above Tendulkar cause he had greater aesthetic batting skills, higher scores and played beyond any coaching manual.
