    All them lockdown kids judging him based on his SENA stats. I'm honoured to say I have followed him as a teenager from his debut to his last game. Those who have followed his career will know the impact he had on tours to Australia and England with the very limited opportunities he had. He bowled match winning and series defining spells and was hardly given a consistent run on those tours (also hampered by injuries). To me right now he is the greatest all format finger spinner. Legend, respect from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰

    When Ashwin says he always loved the game and not so much what comes with it, you have to say he's got the right attitude to play cricket (especially for India). It's a pity the management didn't seem to see it that way and quite possibly accelerated his decision to retire.

    The last bit about every player being the MVP of his story is a massive slap in the face for the vast majority of immature fans on social media who seek to project their hero (for Indian team : Virat/Rohit/MSD) as the “sole hero” of a victory and even sometimes seek to credit them for the wickets that a bowler takes or a century that another batsman makes.
    Recently I was reading a comment where some morons we’re crediting Virat Kohli for the wickets that a bowler has taken saying that Virat has asked him to bowl a bouncer. It was so disrespectful to the amount of time & planning that a bowler had to put in to do his homework for every batsman in the opposition team and the perfect skills needed to execute a short pitch delivery which would have made the batsman mistime the shot because it came at an awkward angle.

    • @akshaypadmanabhan8582

      which is why i admire MS dhoni as a captain, its because he brought out the best of the abilities of players like say joginder sharma, shardhul thakur or tushar deshpande who were certainly not the greatest cricketers but have unique skillsets which only he could see. captaining bumrah is no big deal because bumrah himself is world class, or say ashwin jadeja. but bringing out the best out of a player who has no self belief thats a captain!

    • @anuragsarmah8705
      @anuragsarmah8705 7 минут назад

      @@akshaypadmanabhan8582 please stop downgrading other captains. I know your favourite captain MSD, that doesn't mean you undermine others. Bumrah was not always the Bumrah of today. He was nurtured under Rohit's captaincy. So was Hardik. Kuldeep's career was seemingly over, but he was backed tremendously by Rohit, & today he is a world beater. Same goes with SKY & Shreyas Iyer. Kohli managed the pace battery of team India in Ishant, Umesh, Shami & improved fitness of the team.
      Each captain had their own unique contribution. Let's celebrate them all without agendas.

    I am really blessed to get this opportunity to put out a few words. I have seen quite a few videos of ppl analysing the game, event, matches, post matches and comments in Utube but u two are wonderful. It's not only MIKE AND NASSER about your analysis or reading of the game of cricket to which you rightfully belong but your passion and your no nonsensecal approach and your commitment. I thoroughly enjoyed this interview of the great Ashwin, a successful and a champion cricketer that he no doubt is but the insight as a human and a person that he is brought out eloquently by your incisive questions. I wld have loved as an Indian to watch Ashwin captain India agst an international team at least for a series or so before he hung his boots and called it a day but alas that could never be. The wheels of time is cruel for some and benevolent to others. I am reminded of a programme cricket with Vijay Merchant every Sunday when I was in school in my early years He had said a cricketer must retire when ppl say why and not why not ? Ashwin has retired when he is still capable of taking a bagful of wickets but this is how the great game of cricket is meant to be . I wish Ath and Nasser to continue their beautiful work and give joy to several ppl the world over ❤❤❤

    What a fantastic podcast. Two of the best interviewing one of the analytical and shrewd cricketers who knows in and out of the game.The way he analyses the game,situations and plan for each and every game makes him stand apart. The way he answers so specifically and intelligently makes this podcast more interesting.. Well done all 3 of you…will miss you Ash but will be great to see as a commentator who can give an unbiased and interesting views…and what a way to end the podcast.. I am the MVP of my game and no one else..

    Thanks to sky sports for bringing up this podcast. Nas the best commentator in the world along with Harsha. I am sure Ashwin will always be with Indian Team one way or other as analyst or bowling coach as he so much of talent to share for future generations of cricketers not only in India but also abroad. EAS prasanna was upset as long rope being given to non performing batsmen than to bowlers. Hope India retains BG cup .

    Thanks a lot. V unfortunate that no one from Indian media did an elaborate interview like this on ashwin
    What makes this interview great is the kind of questions Nas and Atherton asked, that dug deep into our hearts and brought out all the emotions out of ashwin
    Most particularly he saying “ a bowler’s life is not the most glamorous. I dont wave at the dressing room when i get 5 wkts the way a batsman would do since my aim is still to see how my team is not getting clobbered..” maybe I didn’t say the exact words that ashwin used but this is essence of what he said in that section.
