Amazing that Javed Miandad was ill during every match and unbelievably scored heavily in virtually every match.... in fact it might have been every single match. Graham Gooch said it best many years later that Steve Waugh and Javed Miandad were nightmare batsmen to bowl to because they would grind the bowlers into the dirt and show no mercy.
thank you pakistan cricket team. it is a gift to me and family. I was born in 1992 and my family talks about this time. I am proud of pcb and country. it finds boys who want to play cricket and win trophies in asia cup 50 overs odi cricket and test cricket.
I’m a Sri Lankan. Even if we won 96 world cup, my favourite world cup is 92 one. In terms of jersey , matches, song, venue, league type matches. Other thing is all non semifinalist win one match with top 4 Zimbabwe win with England India beat Pakistan West indies win with Pakistan Sri lanka beat South Africa Australia beat all above 4 teams(zim, india, SL and West Indies) Other thing is non of 92 semi finalists qualified for 96 semi finals. Its all belongs to Sri lanka , india, Australia and west indies whom not qualified for 92 semis.
jani deve i'm from pakistan & belong to Lahore city where SL won The final & i was 12 at that time, i like Sir Arjuna Arvinda.De Silva awesome memories of childhood🥰😍...
What a bad luck kiwis winning the 7 matches out of 8 knocked out of just loosing one game Pakistan has won only 4 games out of 8 they are the champions icc should change the rules regarding being top two position teams same thing happened in 2019 wc also top 2 teams have been out especially bad luck for india same like kiwis.
True say bro I agree with you 100%. Shocks of the 1992 Cricket World Cup: New Zealand beat Australia Sri Lankan beat South Africa England beat West Indies Zimbabwe beat England Pakistan beat New Zealand (Twice). The saddest part of the tournament was the following matches were not televised and we cannot find full HD highlights of: India v Sri Lanka (Rain stopped play) South Africa v Zimbabwe Zimbabwe v New Zealand West Indies v India Zimbabwe v Sri Lanka Pakistan v Zimbabwe Pakistan v Sri Lanka Sri Lanka v England England v Zimbabwe etc Three disappointing factors of the 1992 CWC: (1) Not all matches were televised by Channel 9 that was a shame which means we will never get to see all the highlights (2) There were no reserve days for rained off matches (3) There was no Richard Hadlee, Vivian Richards, Jefferey Dujon, Gordon Greenidge, Carlile Best, Cheetan Sharma, Jeff Crowe, Waqar Younis, Saeed Anwar, Aamir Malik, Abdul Qadir, Graham Dilley, Neil Foster, Chris Broad, David Gower, Mike Gatting, Courtney Walsh, Carl Rackeman, Greg Campbell, Terry Alderman, Simon O Donnoll, Geoff Lawson, Ezra Mosley, Devon Malcolm, David Lawrence, John Emburey, Phil Edmonds and many others in this World Cup. (4) Colour clothing was really nice, but I wish the shirts were extra short sleeved. (5) The best World Cup not because Pakistan won it although that was, an icing on the cake. (6) Lawry, Benaud, Tony, Gatting, Gower, New Zealand commentators, The chapell brothers did a fantastic job in the commentary box.
Imran no doubt was and is the best leader Pakistan has ever produced, but 1 sadness that he didn’t mention the rest of the team players in his speech. Team effort must not be forgotten.
A gr8 childhood memory was being at the game in Christchurch against Pakistan! I was 12 and the result hurt but I got to see the best bowler of all time! Wasim and that’ll never leave my mind!
forget to mention in video the classic bowling of aqib javed the guy who was able to do 135km to 150km with same action and slow inswing yorkers and take wickets on crutial time of game was always a underrated player who never got the due respect accordence to his talent
Irony, Great Wasim saying he finf it difficult to control the swing of the white ball. Now the bowlers find it hard to swing the white ball. Where did the swing go!
Now a days seamer are getting wickets by rolling their finger and bowling slow. I don't understand if they want to blow like this, they had the option of spin blowing as well.
This was a common concern for fast bowlers of the day. McGrath said something similar even though he was not a swing bowler and SA used to bring Donald on as first change precisely because he found it hard to control the white new ball. I wonder if the manufacturer or specs of the ball have changed between '92 and today.
In the whole history of the world cricket,92 world cup was the most beautiful world cup.It had something special about it.Beautiful colourful jersey, the most beautiful jersey in cricket.Day night games. In those days light was so beautiful. And more importantly it was the last world cup of maximum legend players of 70s and 80s.All grounds were so beautiful and full of greenery.Kapil dev was at the last stage of his career. It was quite interesting to see kapil dev playing under the captaincy of mohhamad azharuddin. It was the first world cup for the master.Azhuruddin was at the peak of his career.Azhuruddin played many great knocks in this world cup.Unfortunately Indian team could make not into the semi-final.India lost few very close games against Australia and England. All teams were having legend players.
My favourite World Cup, the first in colour. True legends of the game playing. Imran Khan, Kapil, Marshall, Richardson, Logie, Javed, Border, Crowe, Botham, Gooch, Wessels, Wasim, Smith, Boon, Jones and many more🏏🏆 🔥
Amazing world cup 1992 moments, as a 90's kid ever since i grew up i remember my DAD watching the 1992 world cup semi final and final match on a VCR (cassette) that always gave me goosebumps to watch an amazing turnaround of unpredictable Pakistani team to actually go on to win the World cup under Imran Khan's leadership and that actually triggered my love and passion for Cricket.
The best World Cup... Though I was only 10 years old then, still I have many memories... Colour clothing, amazing stadiums, great commentators. Pitches were such that even 150 target looked difficult. Quality of the pitches, talented cricketers... Everything amazing... Now its really boring... Tons of runs scored, no quality bowlers n man technology has killed the game...
It was Pakistan's (and Imran's) destiny to win this tournament, just as it was (cruelly) not New Zealand's destiny in 1992. Pakistan timed their run perfectly, winning the matches that mattered, including have luck on their side, not only with the 1 point from the washout against England, but having other results go their way. With mercurial players and an inspirational captain in his last hurrah, Pakistan's triumph was a triumph for the underdog. This WC will long live in the memory for its innovations (both on and off the field), and the coming of age of the 50 over game from here on in. England would eventually triumph (contentiously) in 2019 and NZ would (again) be gallant in defeat. Let's hope 2023 brings as much excitement!
I was just 7 then , only have a few glimpse of those days , thanks to RUclips so we can watch these unforgettable matches again. One of the best world Cups ever.
The event that got me hooked on cricket. I turned 9 on 15 March 1992 and woke up to India vs SA - and never looked back! I am now 41 and still the biggest Protea fan. That tournament was magical!!!

It was a shame that a lot of our great players, like Ian Botham, Graham Gooch etc, were getting old. It was the start of the downturn for English cricket, especially in one day internationals.
IK brought back Wasim in 35th over and Lamb wear the helmet immediately. Lamb wear PCAP against IK, Mushee, Aamir, Ijaz. Don't forget IK got only 2 seamer. BTW all Eng just need to survive Wasim's second spell.
Yes.. I was 14 years old, my father would wake me and my brother up with the black tea and we 3 sit together and watch it. The color dress, the lush green outfield with perfect rectangle pitch in centre, the white ball, the stump vision, the sound of ball hitting the bat.. the top view where we can see batter clearly, instead of a view where empires head is touching the batters view. Cut out pictures from SPORTSAR Magazine and stick in the wall where we sit and study. Brought a big poster with all captains sitting and standing together and stick it on the guestroom wall... We even brought a yellow and blue T-shirt and painted the colourful stripes in shoulder.. because the dress was not available in shop. What a memory man.. !! Still fresh in mind.

I know wt u said sir. I can feel specifically when u just 10 .. but Pakistanies were dancing on the roads after the semi final against NZ . i was 24 that time .. stay blessed wherever u r .. u must be a big man now 🙂🤩
@@humayunanwar Well put it this way - I didn't cry after NZ were screwed out of the CWC in 2019 like I did in 1992 which was a fair loss to a better team :-) The Pakistan team of 92 was full of legends and it was a great team to lift the cup.
Great documentary on the most defining moment in ODI history with white balls, colour kits, black sightscreens and D/N matches. But just a small correction. As mentioned in 16.06 India didn't beat Sri Lanka. The match lasted only two balls. The bowler was Champaka Ramanyaka and India scored one run. Despite all the efforts to get the game on at Mackay Oval, the game was abandoned due to bad weather. Never again did they(Australia) play any international cricket at Mackay Oval. So slightly inacurate information but apart from that great stuff.
My first cricket love - 1992 WC ! for first time coloured uniform clothing, only 9 teams, Round Robin format, SAF team reinstated, under the lights in white ball & a beautiful theme song👍👌🏻
Though India didnt make it to semis, it was a thrilling world cup. Loved the colors, sound, and the format. I remember the excitement for India vs Pakistan clash, first time in ICC world cup. Also I have a cutting from sportsweek magazine before the tournament started with 9 captains in their jerseys with World Cup, it was stunning picture.

In 1992 world cup Ravi shastri and Sanjay Manjerakar were key players more time they spend in crease chances of opponent team winning is more, earlier they get out chances of India winning is more
Great Vid, brought back lots of memories, I went to most of the games in 92 at the MCG including the final. If England were playing I would try to sit near the Barmy Army, they were Hilarious & a great bunch of guys.
Really good tournament, and also the last one in which England were decent. The world cup starting this month is in the same format as 1992, and England are decent again - can we go one step better at last?
I still remember Martin Crowe's disgruntled comment about John Wright's captaincy in the semi final (though not shown in this documentary), "I told him exactly what to do, and he did exactly the opposite". RIP my favourite batsman (after the TV Era started) and a visionary thinker of the game. 🙏🏼

Your polite appreciation for this refined truthful analysis of several hours efforts & corrective replies & additional details are truly welcome (although I won't reply to any of the replies, and provocative least knowledge toddlers will be deservingly ignored as usual) ☺️
H : HEROES (better performers)
V : VILLAINS (worse performers)
(I've written the HERO & VILLAIN performers from best to worst order)
1975 & 1979 :
[ IN BOTH WC IT'S BATTING FAILURE ]
CAPTAIN :
S VENKATARAGHAVAN
1975 :
OUT, 3RD IN GROUP A
H : SYED-ABID-ALI (allrounder)
V : GAVASKAR
1979 :
OUT, 4TH IN GROUP B
H : VISHWANATH GAVASKAR KAPIL (allround okay contribution) & BRIJESH (although small contribution)
(All have performed fairly average)
V : Whole batting lineup (and even worst bowling), especially GAEKWAD VENGSARKAR AMARNATH with bat vs strong teams WI NZ
1983 & 1987 :
[ KEY VETERAN PERFORMERS EITHER INCONSISTENT OR MISSED CRUCIAL KNOCKOUTS, AS IN 1987 ]
CAPTAIN :
KAPIL DEV
1983 :
WINNERS
H : BINNY SANDEEP AMARNATH MADANLAL YASHPAL KAPIL SRIKKANTH
(BINNY is solid overall throughout)
V : GAVASKAR
(Single digit streak except 2 odd innings in WC1979)
1987 :
LOST SEMIS TO ENGLAND
(1st 50 over World Cup)
H : SIDHU AZHAR MANINDER SHASTRI GAVASKAR (except his AUS ENG failures) KAPIL
(SIDHU AZHAR SHASTRI MANINDER are exceptional, with batting consistency crucial contribution or crucial batter wkts)
V : VENGSARKAR GAVASKAR
(Both are batting legends, but they've performed only vs AUS or else weak NZ ZIM of this WC unlike relatively stronger NZ ZIM of 1975 till 1983, VENGSARKAR didn't play SEMIS vs ENG which is real big dent to added batting strength, KAPIL is also inconsistent with bat)
1992 TILL 1999 :
[ OVERALL BATTING BOWLING FAILURE, TOO MUCH CHOPPING AND CHANGING & NOT BACKING PROVEN PERFORMERS, LIKE WC1987 MATCHWINNER SIDHU EXCLUDED IN WC1992 ]
CAPTAIN :
MOHD. AZHARUDDIN
1992 :
DISQUALIFIED IN TOP4 IN ROUND-ROBIN WORLD CUP
H : AZHAR KAPIL SACHIN MANJREKAR PRABHAKAR (bit with ball)/JADEJA
V : No consistency except AZHAR KAPIL & somewhat SACHIN/JADEJA/MANJREKAR, and mostly it's batting failure (than bowling vs last SA match), SIDHU exclusion from WC1992 is totally baseless (knowledgeable ones tell me about this)
1996 :
LOST SEMIS TO SRILANKA BY RIOTING CROWD
(Note that SL had got 2 matches walkover in group stage from AUS & WI due to bombing & safety concerns caused by LTTE in SL)
H : SACHIN SIDHU KUMBLE RAJU JADEJA PRASAD & lastly SRINATH (in SEMIS and few other matches, also inconsistent at times)
V : AZHAR JADEJA PRABHAKAR KAMBLI (very very inconsistent with bat or ball, and consistent shuffling of batting order by captain with unsettled openers despite matchwinner SIDHU availability)
1998 :
LOST SEMIS TO WINDIES
H : SACHIN GANGULY JADEJA ROBIN JOSHI DRAVID
V : Worst bowling unable to pick wickets or contain runs, especially KUMBLE SRINATH vs strong WI in SEMIS
1999 :
OUT, LAST IN SUPER SIX
H : DRAVID GANGULY SACHIN ROBIN JADEJA RAMESH (good contributions with bat often at times) & SRINATH KUMBLE PRASAD MOHANTY (either wicket takers or have contained runs somewhat often)
V : Extremely inconsistent batting except DRAVID GANGULY SACHIN, JADEJA peeks in super six stage and ROBIN is solid, but often the top trio fails in some crucial matches, AZHAR MONGIA and bowlers except PRASAD MOHANTY SRINATH ROBIN & little of KUMBLE are alternately damn inconsistent and have leaked runs in few matches which led to WC exit with last position in super six, and even GANGULY was very iffy in super six.
PAK VS NZ SEMIFINAL WAS BEST MATCH OF 1992 WORLD CUP.....
That was a greaaaaat match
@@omarelahi3934 39:40 that bgm name ?? Sounds familiar
IND Vs AUS
thank you pakistan cricket team. it is a gift to me and family. I was born in 1992 and my family talks about this time. I am proud of pcb and country. it finds boys who want to play cricket and win trophies in asia cup 50 overs odi cricket and test cricket.
The only time when all team had super cool color Jerseys. I wish those will be back soon!!
Out of all the Jerseys that the Indian cricket team has worn the 92 world cup one was the best.
1996 world cup jersey of all the teams were superb.
I’m a Sri Lankan. Even if we won 96 world cup, my favourite world cup is 92 one. In terms of jersey , matches, song, venue, league type matches.
Other thing is all non semifinalist win one match with top 4
Zimbabwe win with England
India beat Pakistan
West indies win with Pakistan
Sri lanka beat South Africa
Australia beat all above 4 teams(zim, india, SL and West Indies)
Other thing is non of 92 semi finalists qualified for 96 semi finals. Its all belongs to Sri lanka , india, Australia and west indies whom not qualified for 92 semis.
Shock of the tournament:
Sri Lanka beat South Africa and Zimbabwe.
jani deve i'm from pakistan & belong to Lahore city where SL won The final & i was 12 at that time,
i like Sir Arjuna
Arvinda.De Silva
awesome memories of childhood🥰😍...
Lv from Pakistan - 100% agreed.
True say bro I agree with you 100%. Shocks of the 1992 Cricket World Cup:
New Zealand beat Australia
Sri Lankan beat South Africa
England beat West Indies
Zimbabwe beat England
Pakistan beat New Zealand (Twice).
The saddest part of the tournament was the following matches were not televised and we cannot find full HD highlights of:
India v Sri Lanka (Rain stopped play)
South Africa v Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe v New Zealand
West Indies v India
Zimbabwe v Sri Lanka
Pakistan v Zimbabwe
Pakistan v Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka v England
England v Zimbabwe etc
Three disappointing factors of the 1992 CWC:
(1) Not all matches were televised by Channel 9 that was a shame which means we will never get to see all the highlights
(2) There were no reserve days for rained off matches
(3) There was no Richard Hadlee, Vivian Richards, Jefferey Dujon, Gordon Greenidge, Carlile Best, Cheetan Sharma, Jeff Crowe, Waqar Younis, Saeed Anwar, Aamir Malik, Abdul Qadir, Graham Dilley, Neil Foster, Chris Broad, David Gower, Mike Gatting, Courtney Walsh, Carl Rackeman, Greg Campbell, Terry Alderman, Simon O Donnoll, Geoff Lawson, Ezra Mosley, Devon Malcolm, David Lawrence, John Emburey, Phil Edmonds and many others in this World Cup.
My first ever World Cup - Loved and Enjoyed it So much.
I always feel happy when Subcontinent teams wins outside of Asia.
Same here
20:48 Sir Imran Khan the most inspirational captain of all the world cups
Can't forget that day of March 1992.
Imran no doubt was and is the best leader Pakistan has ever produced, but 1 sadness that he didn’t mention the rest of the team players in his speech. Team effort must not be forgotten.
If only he has thanked the team
IF ONLY
but as they say chaand mein bhee dagh hay 😮
A gr8 childhood memory was being at the game in Christchurch against Pakistan! I was 12 and the result hurt but I got to see the best bowler of all time! Wasim and that’ll never leave my mind!
forget to mention in video the classic bowling of aqib javed the guy who was able to do 135km to 150km with same action and slow inswing yorkers and take wickets on crutial time of game was always a underrated player who never got the due respect accordence to his talent
I was fascinated by dressing and lights used in this world Cup
Irony, Great Wasim saying he finf it difficult to control the swing of the white ball. Now the bowlers find it hard to swing the white ball. Where did the swing go!
youre talking about the great wasim akram today's kids are
nt wasim akram
ICC - indian cricket council killed it by introducing too new balls from each end ....
Simple more T.V cameras. So Wasim and co can’t hide their ball tampering as much.
92 world cup is still the best organize and memorable world cup
No one compared with 1992 worldcup.because all team had legendary players.
Amazing documentary.. I wish they make one on 1999 WC as that tournament was also magical in terms of matches, venues and off course amazing kits.
1999 wc litterly as competitive as 1992. Despite a disappointing final, it's the 2nd best world cup.
92 will always have the best World Cup uniforms. However, 2019 World Cup uniforms to me was the second best.
@green curtain studios I'm talking about how the uniforms looked they looked nice in 92 and 2019 that's it no particular just liked how they looked.
Graham Gooch: Pakistan played really well
Ian Botham: I was furious
xD
Jonty Rhodes ki fielding .. dipak patel ki opening me bowling .. inzamam ki semi final ki jordar bating .. mark gretbatch ki opening me dhamakedar bating ..Aur javed miyad ki bandar jesi harkat .. best world cup 1992

I MISS THOSE DAYS WHEN INTERNATIONAL CRICKET WAS MORE IMPORTANT TO THE PLAYERS THAN THESE STUPID CORRUPTED FRANCHISE T20 LEAGUES
100% agreed bro...
Agree with you sir but end of the players never used to get nothing in return financially that’s why these Leagues has to come up to support players but not all players are greedy there are so many examples who play everywhere good like Kohli Rohit Smith Root Kane Baber and manny more
Sahil Singh
What is the point my friend
All these game nowadays playing for writing script.. we can’t see who really won the toss.. countries can buy third umpires.. money destroying all the real beauty from the game we really loved..don’t you think 🤔.?
Then, they didn't had any more options as well
@@SahilSingh-xr3bq I agree with your point of financially supporting the players, but this is too much. It’s become more of financial supply
Where is the six of Moin khan in the semi final that change the match into Pak favour
Martin Crowe was a legend and also a G.O.A.T
It was a shame that a lot of our great players, like Ian Botham, Graham Gooch etc, were getting old. It was the start of the downturn for English cricket, especially in one day internationals.
Best Cricket World Cup ever!!
1:09:00 My goodness Lamb is playing Wasim Akram without the helmet ♥️ That's what the Champions are made of.
IK brought back Wasim in 35th over and Lamb wear the helmet immediately. Lamb wear PCAP against IK, Mushee, Aamir, Ijaz. Don't forget IK got only 2 seamer. BTW all Eng just need to survive Wasim's second spell.
Would you believe it? Imran Khan is now the prime minister of Pakistan.
OHHHH YES... AND BELIVE IT WE PAK STILL IN LOVE WITH HIM...
Yes he is biggest begger
Love from china😎😎

Awesome times , greatest happy memories, he who made this documentary, salute you
The world cup that changed the ODI cricket for ever
!! Still fresh in mind.
lovely moment 92 world cup great captin imran khan and now the great ledar PM Pakistan love u

The Best song of all world cup
When NZ lost the semi I remember literally running outside onto the back yard, falling to the grass and rolling around crying. I was 10 years old. The 92 Cricket World Cup was still the greatest and most exciting sporting event I ever followed
Mark Greatbatch had changed the ODI Style of batting forever.
beautiful world cup i had ever seen in the history cricket

Best World Cup.... Great players, good pitches, beautiful colour clothings.. still remember it.
Now it has bcom boring
Great documentary on the most defining moment in ODI history with white balls, colour kits, black sightscreens and D/N matches.
But just a small correction. As mentioned in 16.06 India didn't beat Sri Lanka. The match lasted only two balls. The bowler was Champaka Ramanyaka and India scored one run. Despite all the efforts to get the game on at Mackay Oval, the game was abandoned due to bad weather. Never again did they(Australia) play any international cricket at Mackay Oval. So slightly inacurate information but apart from that great stuff.
I was four years old at that time but still have some memories happy that we are the champions
My first cricket love - 1992 WC ! for first time coloured uniform clothing, only 9 teams, Round Robin format, SAF team reinstated, under the lights in white ball & a beautiful theme song👍👌🏻
Never been a good world cup final like this one before or after completely incredible game
How many cable channels were der in 1992,prime sports?
Now the PM of Pakistan 😍
🌹MASHALLAH 🌹 THE GREAT KHAN STILL CAPATANING PAKISTAN may ALLAH SWT GIVE HIM A LONG LIFE AMEEN 🌹 Thank you captain for bringing CRICKETS WORLD CUP to Pakistan, first one in the HISTORY of Pakistan RABRAKA
The greatest world cup of all time !
There can never be another worldcup like 1992. The kits, the swag, the commentary. I wish they could just bring the theme again in some.worldcup again.
This is my favourite, because it's my first wc watch on TV

For me the tiger t shirt in the final was mesmerising!!...the great Khan and his team roared !!
I have watched the tiger T-shirt a million times and I still can’t take my eyes off him
It just tells you so much about the man 😍
In 1992 world cup Ravi shastri and Sanjay Manjerakar were key players more time they spend in crease chances of opponent team winning is more, earlier they get out chances of India winning is more
Hahahaha
India lost many games from winning position vs eng,aus particularly
This is the one if the best documentary on cricket world cup .
Best kits ever for every team
Javed is the batsman of 92 cricket world cup
Get Real Idiot! The great Martin Crowe owned the 92 cup! Pakistan so fkn lucky to get that far after washout! Crowe was a genius
Tom Moody played till 1999, information given in documentary is incorrect
tom moody wc winner 1987 and 1999.
Great Vid, brought back lots of memories, I went to most of the games in 92 at the MCG including the final.
If England were playing I would try to sit near the Barmy Army, they were Hilarious & a great bunch of guys.
I just love the game of Cricket! Brings together great countries with lots of entertainment and mutual respect with one another.
Really good tournament, and also the last one in which England were decent. The world cup starting this month is in the same format as 1992, and England are decent again - can we go one step better at last?
You finally did
Congratulations you did
I still remember Martin Crowe's disgruntled comment about John Wright's captaincy in the semi final (though not shown in this documentary), "I told him exactly what to do, and he did exactly the opposite".
RIP my favourite batsman (after the TV Era started) and a visionary thinker of the game. 🙏🏼
1992, 1996, & 1999 were the last World Cups I cared about. Rest have been downhill with 2023 hitting rock bottom.
This is amazing video 😍 I love this channel
though my favourite world cup is 83 but 92 world cup also holds special place not only because cricket became colourful but because there were too many young superstars emerging tendulkar inzy lara jonty rhodes mark greatbach everyone was performing it was Ramadan time we used to get up early for fasting but mainly for cricket it was icing on the cake rain played spoil sport in too many matches
the last pure world cup to be held. After that the fixing just demolished cricket the way it was played.
I love you great Imran Khan sahib
