Austin resident 14 years. You hit some of the great spots! Yet, barely scratched the surface. Off the top of my head I would suggest Odd Duck, Mattie's, Red Ash, Wu Chow, Terry Black's, Aba, Vespaio, Gloria's, Home Slice Pizza, Perla's, Dai Due, Jeffrey's, Justine's... I''m an Uber driver not a food critic! So I know these spots and how they fare (no pun intended) with my passengers, locals or visitors. Who else guys? Oh! And if you got the Continental then also hit up C-Boys.
Absolutely wrong!! There is nothing native on this list. This is all new sh!t. There is nothing authentic to Austin that has been here more than 4 years on this video.
This is one of the few videos of Austin that perfectly highlights what makes it great. From the BBQ, Tex-mex, Tacos, Dive Bars, Breweries, Lake Boating, Barton Springs, downtown trail hiking, and last but not least the extravagant college football games and traditions. There are so many different amazing establishments to choose from similar to the ones highlighted here, and many others that are quite unique, so you can keep coming back and experiencing something new every time too.
It's criminal this channel doesn't see more viewers with the quality of videos. I try to share almost every vid when it comes out because they're so good!
Native Austinite here. I don't get out that much, but this video makes me want to venture farther than South Austin, where I live. I love that my friend Brian's restaurant, Bird Bird Biscuit, is considered one of the best. Fun fact : Brian is a wonderful violinist and is in one of my favorite Austin bands, Alpha Rev. 😊
Native austinite Latina with ex-Chef parents here and Veracruz is genuinely some of the best Mexican food. The greatest Austin restaurants are always changing because greedy, disgusting realtors, brokers and private equity have completely destroyed the environment for restaurants to be able to afford to keep their doors open and cultivate community. I had the privilege of being here in the mid 2010s when the “very first” of ethnic restaurants were still operating. The first Mexican restaurant, first Korean, first Thai etc. THOSE were the best and I wish y’all could try them!!
16:59 homey having that reaction to an ordinary 1-ton pickup towing a 16’ trailer is so hilarious to me. “Wooowww!! Look at that!!” All of us turn looking for something out of the ordinary and only seeing an average Tuesday…. 😂😂😂
I love Austin - one of the best Japanese meals we ever had was at Uchiko Austin. The stuff of dreams! Spoilt for choice in Austin. Great showcase of the town again lads ♥️
Lived in Austin for 8 years, recently moved to a smaller town in California and I didn’t realize how good the food scene is there until I left. You hit all the right spots, well done!
I love watching your videos of places I'll likely never get to go. As a Texan, to witness your take on a place I can (and do) drive to quite often just added a level to what I already loved. I'm ready to experience Austin for the millionth time, for the first time!! Great job!
Happy to announce that La Barbecue was just awarded a Michelin star! And Cuantos Tacos and Franklin Barbecue were given Bib Gourmand awards, which are for restaurants that offer the best value for the money. (Quite a few stars to my hometown of Houston as well.)
There is no better place to live for foodies and extroverts. The thing about Austin is you can take what you’ve seen here and multiply it by 1000. You can find a new gem every single day.
Yess feel like you captured Austin perfectly. I visited for Austin City Limits and went to Este. The service was amazing food so fresh that even my mom who loses her appetite while traveling ate every bite of her meal.
I fly to Austin tomorrow. This was a fantastic video. A few more little stars for my Google map. Clearly a lot of effort went into this video and it shows. Maybe Valencia could do with a little love from you in the new year..
Great stuff boys! This was one of your best videos to date, great vibes, visuals and awesome food. Your channel is like a hidden gem. I want people to find it, because you deserve it, yet I don’t because it’s special. Keep it up!
As a previous Austinite, this whole list is incredible. I can't personally speak on Joann's but everything else is truly top notch. Special mentions to Paperboy and Veracruz Tacos, because they are ELITE and I dream about them almost weekly.
Great video you guys nailed it! one point of clarification is that Deep Eddy is not a person, but refers to part of the river that swirls around like a whirlpool and those little swirls are called Eddys. the Colorado River that goes through Austin has a lot of those little Eddys all up and down the side of the river. You were right next to the Deep Eddy swimming pool that gets its name from one of these Eddys.
Big props to the cinematography, guys. It's been improving over the years to an incredibly high level! Are you guys using mist filters and/or anamorphic lenses lately?? Some shots look super dreamy!
I've been watching you guys for the past year or so, and this was easily one of your best videos yet. The food, the people, the cinematography, the editing, everything was perfect. I'm American and I haven't been this to Austin, but this makes me want to go so badly now. You guys should definitely come to Boston/New England though!
This crossover!!! So cool to see Josh here! Great video!!!

Thanks guys! I’m living through yall. We moved north of Austin and can’t afford to come in and celebrate yet. But soon! And I’ve been eyeing every single one of these places, especially birdies and franklins
Great video, gents. Point of order. Texas’ cute little stadium isn’t the largest in the country, it’s not even the largest in the state. Shoot, it’s not even the largest UT stadium.
I remember when you guys are just 50k and now you're almost reaching 500k, good job lads and hope you reach 1M soon (honestly it baffles me why it hasn't happened yet)
As a North Carolinian I vividly remember my first trip to Franklin a decade ago. I kept saying "how good can it be, really?" and when we finally got to the counter and they handed us a burnt end before ordering I do think my brain exploded. It's for sure worth the pilgrimage and wait. Also, Nickel City might be my favorite bar of all time. Jester King would have been a cool stop but I understand it was likely not convenient. Check out Via 313 next time.
Incredible video as always. Native Austinite here and you did our city more than justice! Next time hit up Dai Due for brunch, Uchi for sushi and exceptional service, and Matt's El Rancho for quintessential Austin Tex-Mex. Also, DKR stadium isn't the biggest in the country, not even the biggest in Texas: Kyle Field has it beat. Gig'em Ags!
You asked where you should go next? Minneapolis, totally under rated food, beer, and cocktail town. I’d be so bold as to say the best burgers in the country
Awesome picks in this video! I’d also suggest checking out Loro, which is a Japanese + BBQ fusion, and Uptown Sports Club (both are creations from the team behind Franklin’s!) - I visit them in my most recent vids. Plus, Mercado Sin Nombre in East Austin is a must! I just moved to Austin from Australia and am diving into the city’s food scene - absolutely loving it!
Next time you’re in Austin you have to try Foodheads! It’s a small little sandwich shop that’s been around for years - it’s in a cute little house near UT. Also come to San Antonio, amigos!
The Doughminican in the little area with Desnudo is by far the best part of that little spot. Haven't had the tacos but the empanadas at Doughminican are fireeeeee. Trusssss
Amazing work gentlemen. Let’s grab a bite next time you’re in town.
You’re a clown

Native Austinite here! Nailed it! I forget how lucky I am to live here until I see videos like this.
Topjaw always deliver

Been following y’all for years and as an Austinite, y’all smashed it
Legend. Thank you!
As an Austin resident of 24 years that is feeling a bit jaded, this video rekindled a lot of pride for the place I call home.
It's criminal this channel doesn't see more viewers with the quality of videos. I try to share almost every vid when it comes out because they're so good!
As a Texan living in the UK, this makes me miss home! Y’all hit all the best spots and introduced me to some for next time I go home. Cheers, lads!
Yeah lads this was 100% one of your best videos yet! Not much else to say but love the "Where Chefs Eat" series! Where we heading next?
Agree!!!
La barbecue just got a michelin star!
Native Austinite here. I don't get out that much, but this video makes me want to venture farther than South Austin, where I live. Ahhh as an Austinite, you crushed home

This video is such a love letter to Austin.

Topjaw videos > Michelin guide 😁 as an austinite this video made me so happy!! You guys did us proud
This video encapsulates Austin perfectly. Hit a bunch of the key spots, great video 🙏
La Barbecue is the truth. Loved this episode as someone who lives in Austin!
I love Austin - one of the best Japanese meals we ever had was at Uchiko Austin. The stuff of dreams! Spoilt for choice in Austin. Great showcase of the town again lads ♥️
this is literally the list i give friends when they come to austin
Lived in Austin for 8 years, recently moved to a smaller town in California and I didn’t realize how good the food scene is there until I left. You hit all the right spots, well done!
Please keep this series going! This is so good!
Texans not only serve some of the best food in the world, but they're some of the humblest, most kind-hearted, fun people on this planet! #ProudTexan
Bourdain would be proud boys!
You have no idea how much that means to me, thank you. Bourdain, the best to ever do it.
I love watching your videos of places I'll likely never get to go. As a Texan, to witness your take on a place I can (and do) drive to quite often just added a level to what I already loved. I'm ready to experience Austin for the millionth time, for the first time!! Great job!
South Congress is one of my favorites! I love Austin! I do like having a burger at the bar at Hopdoddy’s.
Damn y’all killed it with the selections. Lived here the past 8 years and this video feels like a trip down memory lane at this point
You sir are an inspiration - not easy to be so open about your struggles . Very brave of you , fantastic video btw keep them coming 😊

I’ve lived here for 9 years and this list is “ok”…..for tourists lol….locals know where the true gems are
Sure Nick
As someone who lives in Austin, yall got it right! Very few do!
Wow, I think this is your best yet. I can feel the vibe.
I was following your recs while in Iceland and Paris earlier this year, it’s so cool y’all are here visiting where I live now!
Yess feel like you captured Austin perfectly. I visited for Austin City Limits and went to Este. The service was amazing food so fresh that even my mom who loses her appetite while traveling ate every bite of her meal.
Este is a truly special place. Fermin is such a cool dude.
Worth a note that Kerlaches in the same food truck spot as Vera Cruz and Desnudo is fantastic
I fly to Austin tomorrow. This was a fantastic video. A few more little stars for my Google map. Clearly a lot of effort went into this video and it shows. Maybe Valencia could do with a little love from you in the new year..
Immigrants have brought some amazing food to Austin. We're lucky to have them!
Great stuff boys! This was one of your best videos to date, great vibes, visuals and awesome food.
Your channel is like a hidden gem. I want people to find it, because you deserve it, yet I don’t because it’s special. Keep it up!
Thanks so much! We’d quite like people to find us 😂
Great video.. even though I live here there's new places I want to go to now. Thanks!
As a previous Austinite, this whole list is incredible. I can't personally speak on Joann's but everything else is truly top notch. Special mentions to Paperboy and Veracruz Tacos, because they are ELITE and I dream about them almost weekly.
One of your best to date - keep up the great work fellas x

Welcome!! I do live in North Autsin and been to most of these places and discovered a few that I must get to!
As someone who lived in Austin, I approve of your list! Great video!
Deep Eddys is near and dear to a local’s heart
Big props to the cinematography, guys. It's been improving over the years to an incredibly high level!

Okay. Clark's Oyster Bar was my best friend and my favorite spot. Oysters and dirty martinis were our jam. So happy you got this slice of Austin.
Came here from IG, hope this goes viral, its such a gem
Top video, mates! Love Austin so much and everything it has to offer. Also loved the mic clipped to the nip 😂 32:30
The best one yet!!! Unreal!
That was simply awesome to watch! Have you ever thought about visiting Canada!! We have lots of good eats here!
We’d absolutely love to visit Canada, never been!
Thank you for reminding me how awesome my city is. Needed that my new friend. Videographer did amazing too. Thanks y'all!

Added a ton of these to my "must try" list!
Great video, gents. Point of order. Texas’ cute little stadium isn’t the largest in the country, it’s not even the largest in the state. Shoot, it’s not even the largest UT stadium.
Good to see Rick at Joanne’s!
So many places added to where I wanna visit when next in Austin! Love it there already
Best video in a long time!! Each bit of fun seamlessly led to the next. I visited a lot of these places F1 weekend, great city.
Shout out to Bunkhouse Group-some of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in, for real
Hotel Magdalena was so brilliant.
Amazing episode!!
You guys are the best! Was so pumped to see a new video I’m commenting while just starting the video. Cheers, Bros! Come to California of course.
Great stuff lads! You can feel the excitement in this one. Already pricing flights 😂
We really did love every second of it. ❤️
Going to Austin next March, great timing for a bit of research lads 🙌🏻
I remember when you guys are just 50k and now you're almost reaching 500k, good job lads and hope you reach 1M soon (honestly it baffles me why it hasn't happened yet)
@@assleepyassayu4619 Thanks so much for your continued support
Well done lads, from a native austinite. Ski Shores used to be wayyyy better btw but the view is unreal.
This was AWESOME ! (Do give some proper love to Benji)
Time to hit the food scene in South Africa.
So great to have a long video back!
Flew to Austin this week and made a point of going to Cuantos Tacos. It’s everything you hope it would be. 👌🏼
Austin is such a great city.
I love your videos, I really want to see you go to Asia! Good content is missing, Asia needs you!
What color grading do you use for your videos? The colors are always incredibly vibrant and warm. Love the videos!
This is the one boys
Cheers my man
You boys need to come
Downunder. Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne.
British Boys headed to the South. A lovely subgenre of content.
Awww! wish I could go to Austin, I live sooo far away here in Cedar Park! jk, but have not been to any of the places you mentioned. Good video!👍🍹🎵

We'll see about that later this month. If only the game was here in Austin.
This was amazing to watch ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks so much - we put so much work into it 😅
Well. Looks like I’m going Austin next year. Another banger lads.
Best food channel hands down,
What a fun video and now I want to visit Austin
You asked where you should go next? Minneapolis, totally under rated food, beer, and cocktail town. I’d be so bold as to say the best burgers in the country
Crazy that this is basically the Michelin list 👏
You said it… good vibes all round!
Hey thanks for having me in the video! ❤❤ Muk Franklin barbecue guy with a hat on lol
Awesome picks in this video! I’d also suggest checking out Loro, which is a Japanese + BBQ fusion, and Uptown Sports Club (both are creations from the team behind Franklin’s!) - I visit them in my most recent vids.

Yes these places were on our list but we ran outta time. Next time we’ll go there for sure! Thank you
nice!
Next time you’re in Austin you have to try Foodheads! It’s a small little sandwich shop that’s been around for years - it’s in a cute little house near UT.
Also come to San Antonio, amigos!
Great episode! ❤️
So great! Austin is such a cool place! 😎
The channel host is really photogenic ❤
I never comment but you guys actually crushed the visit. If I were to add one restaurant I would do..
Neighborhood sushi
The Doughminican in the little area with Desnudo is by far the best part of that little spot. Haven't had the tacos but the empanadas at Doughminican are fireeeeee. Trusssss
