    Hey Chris! The giveaway showed up Friday and wow! I now understand that the ravings about that razor is not just hype. I'm a daily shaver with thick growth BUT with sensitive skin. Setting 2 is perfect for daily. I may have to wait a few days so I can utilize the higher settings! Gin and tonic soap and splash set smells great too. I was torn between that and just lime but I think I made the right choice. Thanks again for your generosity! Take care.

    Hi Chris a clean shave. I'll tell you. And finally a manufacturer who fills the can to the brim, great. The price is very OK there. I wish you a nice week until the next video. My video is only today at 17:15 more detailed on Facebook. My internet has never been slower than it is today! And thanks you for your support on RUclips and Facebook Chris I appreciate it very much.

      Thanks Robert, I very much appreciate it. And you are more the welcome my friend. Most artisans leave space in the bowl to load the brush in the puck, that's why they aren't full to the brim. Enjoy the rest of your week my friend. Stay smooth and stay safe;-)

    Used to nick some of my Dad's original Brut as a teenager. A little went a long way and lasted for hours.
    Today I splash on loads more of the new stuff and in less than an hour it's faded away.
    I don't have any of the original left these days.
    As you say it's night and day.

      Thanks Gareth, much appreciated buddy. Yes it's a shame it's not like the original these day's. But it's great whilst it does last. Have a great weekend buddy. Stay smooth and stay safe 👍

    Great shave. For the Platinum Jubilee shave, use a platinum blade just because it’s perfectly fitting for that occasion. I got to try out the Gillette 7 O’Clock Super Platinum blade and it worked amazingly. The Super Platinum blade is sharp, efficient and smooth for me. I’m gonna give it a few more shaves to see if it’s good enough to warrant buying an 100 pack of the Super Platinum blades. Have a good one!

      Many thanks Kevin, I appreciate you as always buddy. As for the blade, I will do that just for you. I was going to use a Vintage British Stainless. But as you say a Platinum will be just as fitting for the occasion. Love the 7o'clock range, nice blade's. Have a great day my friend. Stay smooth and stay safe 👍 😎

    I get what you are saying aout the price and longevity or the soap,I own over 20 different soaps,I bought the unscented version from The English Shaving company for £44.00 , My wife bought a scented candle last Christmas for about that price,it lasted for about 4 days,just to put things into perspective,ps yet another good video.

    Nice shave Chris! If I was a guy who wanted under 10 soaps, I would definitely buy MDC. But I'm more like a 100 soaps guy lol! 😄👍 SOTD: K Shave Worx Tropical Barber soap and splash, PAA Star Wisp brush, Muhle r41 with a Gillette Winner blade, and some Nivea Sensitive Soothing balm.
    Have a good one!

    Classy setup, the polished TimeLess is stunning. Would love to get a MDC jar one day, but like you said as a hobbyist with a largish soap collection, the up front jar price puts me off as the MDC soap would not get used very often. Have a great week.👊😎👍

    Nice shave brother. I've been on a soap buying freeze for more than a year now. Once I get through what I have, I'll likely only have about 5 or 6 tubs that I keep in rotation, but really think a tub of MDC might be one of them. Cheers

    • @CBShaves
      @CBShaves  2 года назад +1

      Thanks Callahan, much appreciated brother. I don't think I will ever have a soap freez it's not in my nature 🤣 I don't have a rotation of soaps or razors, I just use what I fancy. If you only use a few soaps then I would recommend MDC soaps excellent value for money considering how long they last. Have a great day, stay smooth and stay safe 👍 😎

    In my opinion, Martin de Candre is the best value in a shaving soap when instead of thinking of cost per ounce, you look at cost per shave. A typical artisan like A&E or PAA gives me around 30 shaves. I've got an original MdC with well over 100 shaves, and it's not even halfway done.

    • @nealefrancis9094
      @nealefrancis9094 2 года назад +1

      I completely disagree, your paying for name , Phoenix ck 6 soaps are half the price and make thicker lathers with better protection and slickness

    • @jeeperspeepers8323
      @jeeperspeepers8323 2 года назад

      30 shaves? How much do you use for each shave?

    • @CBShaves
      @CBShaves  2 года назад +1

      Hi Franklin.. I agree, If you look at the cost per shave, it's excellent value. I just wish it was a little more slicker, but it was there and it did the job. Just my personal preference. Enjoy the rest of your week buddy. Stay smooth and stay safe;-)

    Nice shave mate , I’ve got that soap and I get a thicker lather using my semogue 2000 , I find synthetic brushes can’t grab the soap as it is too hard ,

      Thanks Neale, much appreciated buddy. I was going to use a boarbrush as well🤣 did OK though with the synthetic. Great soap but then again it should be 🤣 have a great day. Stay smooth and stay safe 👍 😎

    Great Shave Chris, Fantastic Soap MDC I have a Jar Myself I don't it matters if you get through it or not it's about the enjoyment of the shave and the soap life is too short to worry about things like that enjoy the moment mate take care and have a great week :-)

    • @CBShaves

    Hey Chris,
    I am glad you are doing well. Me too.
    Could you be so kind and honest which one will you choose, if price is not involved in the equation. Stirling or MdC. Many thanks in advance mate!

    • @CBShaves
      @CBShaves  2 года назад +1

      Hi Radoslav, many thanks I appreciate it buddy. After some thought to your question. I have to be honest and say Stirling. MDC soaps are excellent and superb value for money if you are an under 10 soap guy. As a hobbiest it has to be Stirling. Stirling for me just has the edge over MDC regarding performance and post shave feel. I hope this answers your question. Haveca great day buddy. Stay smooth and stay safe 👍
