The Furs were one of the first new wave bands I got totally into in my youth. Saw them several times live. So many awesome songs from them. This is one of my favs.........Love playing this on guitar....
Although they have numerous excellent songs, this to me is their best produced one. It's fully realized with satisfying transitions and chords. The distorted guitars seem off-putting at first but then you are quickly pulled in by the catchy hook. Unexpectedly approachable. One of those songs that's hard to improve upon - the sign of a timeless classic. Plus some of the lyrics are haunting: Painted lies on painted lips I don't believe that I believed in you Sunday's child will fall through faith Grey city sky comes down like rain to drown me in my sleep Imagine my disappointment when they didn't play it when I saw them perform a few years ago. :-( But after their outdoor show I saw Richard Butler walking from behind the stage to his trailer, and he happened to look over to the crowd area where I was and I caught his eye and waved "hi!" and he smiled back. Cool. :-)
I am in love with the music playing in this recording...the drums, bass, and guitar tracks are so simple..but played with such smooth feel...it's such a British thing..but God ..it is so so cool...it's like letting space glide with the notes...👑
I have loved the Psychedelic Furs. When going out to the clubs I had to hear 'Love My Way' before the night was gone. They were the passion I loved to move to and their music brings memories back of times for being young and having a good time. The door to a tomorrow was real and it was open, it was an unknown what would be found there until it just got worse each day until all the good times, youth, passion and friendships went away. Until it became clear that monsters, tyranny, oppression was back to stay. The end of everything the monsters have made abundantly clear.

Love the Psych Furs so, of course I love this video/song. So much talent and heart... makes me miss 80s music!! Thanks for posting this. Such incredible memories from my Metropol dance club days!
One of my all-time favorite bands Psychedelic Furs I have a lot of CDs by them I think my favorite one is the Psychedelic Furs Greatest Hits 17 songs and I like 15 out of the 17 really cool
This, my favorite Psychedelic Furs song, might be the most difficult to unravel, but I'll take a stab. Everyone gets hung up on the money and greed angle, but I don't believe that's the point. The song is definitely about a relationship that went bad, leaving a bitter taste in the writer's psyche. When I listen, I hear stinging regret. Being lured by promises of love that turned out to be lies. Most of the lyrics are very literal: the sky feels like it's falling and draining life away to the ocean. He's haunted by her memory, and somehow still clinging, or wanting to cling (people fade and I forget you). So where does the money come in? If I were to guess, maybe the girl in the lyrics wanted a guy who was filthy rich rather than him. If only he had the money, maybe he could have the love... or maybe she's filled with nothing but lies and he'll always be haunted by what he thought could have been. It's a stab at interpreting this incredible song, but I've been in this exact situation and it just fits perfectly. I always thought the Furs were at their best when they shared haunting moments and imagery through their music.
People who say Butler sounds like Bowie, Iggy Pop, Sex Pistols, Manny Moe and Jack, or any body else is irrational and irritating. People hear a sax or an English accent, so Richard Butler 'sounds' like Bowie. Butler is his own animal. His gravelly voice alone stands out, and his quality compositions throughout the 80s makes him one of a kind and original. Robert at 67.
Butler's voice is unique and incredible. I've never heard anyone remotely like him and I've listened to EVERY Bowie album including the ones he probably wished he hadn't made!
@@mindrolling24 Yep, they both are incredible & absolutely one of a kind in their own right. Along with Mark Burgess from the Chameleons, my top 3 favorite male singers.
Of 80s vocalists, to me, Richard Butler is the most interesting sounding, with his gravel voiced/chain smokers 'enhanced' sound and noticeable English accent appealing. For shear vocal excitement and immediacy Simon Labon of Duran Duran is my other pick. Robert at 67.
Your joking...House (video version) in my book is his best tune, compositionally, lyrically, vocally, musically. It at LEAST equals 'All that money wants'. More 'top drawer' post 'All that money wants' tunes- 'Entertain me', 'Sometimes'. Bob at 65.
One of the best songs written specifically for a greatest hits album. Maybe their greatest song ever released. A classic swan song for a brilliant band

I used to listen to the furs all the time with my dad. He died recently and listening to their music makes me feel like he is here with me.
❤
He is - our beloved ones never leave.
2023 still a smash song.
This song is my favourite Furs song of all time.

Ya me too.

some of earths last rockstars rite here.
Totally agree. many to choose from though.
I love this song so much. It still points back to a painful but incredible time when I was 18 yrs old.
Details!!!
@@boudusaved4719 RESPECT TO YOUR DAD, RIP.
All that money wants is awesome. About as good as the Psychedelic Furs get.
It’s “underrated” by whom? These bands still perform to millions around the world.
The late '80's produced such epic and underrated music in many genres.
Echo and the Bunn tomem, The Church, New Order etc
35 years of being a Furs fan brought me here.
Absolutely their best song, awe-inspiring
We could possibly have an argument. I love pretty much all their songs!
dumb waiters is their best song in my humble opinion 🙂
House.
You ain’t joking!!
BEST 80s band by far! Still going strong 40 years later. No surprise there. I've seen them about five times. Even saw Love Spit Love.
Lucky you.
The Furs were one of the first new wave bands I got totally into in my youth. Saw them several times live. So many awesome songs from them. This is one of my favs.........Love playing this on guitar....
One of the best Rock Band ever.. They were very wronged. At least 7 of their songs should have reached the top 5 on the billboard.
First time hearing this song. It is great. Just saw them live a few weeks ago. Awesome show!
"Until She Comes" was of the very last great ones

Nothing like a lilting Brittish accent in a 60's, 70's or 80's rock tune. Brittish invasion 'yal.
One of my all time fav Furs tunes.....I love Richard!!
yes✌
This really needs to be added to their live setlist. I haven't heard this live in years.
they played it on this current tour!!! amazing.
I did in 82 and 2000. Being transported.
They played it May 15, 2023...it's why I'm here lol
Seeing them tonight in Clearwater...we're awesome in December 21..my 2nd favorite song behind Love My Way..how was the show?

It was cool to have Vince Ely back for this single and the Book of Days album.
the furs produced the most brilliant music... originality and that shifting psychic edge flowed through.....every...thing especially this....
Like how he barely fights off a grin at the last 5 seconds of video, Butler the cool one.
fucking great band.
Very few of today's artists go as deep!
Great band. Great theme. Well done clip. Love Butler voice and lyrics-
This song is stupid good.
The singer reminds me so much of Bowie looks-wise. Love this band.
I love this song....got to see the Furs live twice in Pittsburgh, PA....hope they come back
I love Pittsburgh and this band
Definitely my favorite Furs song. Wish they had played it though when I saw them in concert a couple of years ago.
Great band. I especially love their work right at the beginning of the 80s, and right at the end. Great band all the way through.
Wow the world summed up by this ditty,s title its all the bloomin, world is interested in!❤❤❤😊😊😊😅😅😅😂😂😂
My favorite The Psychedelic Furs song ..................... greetings of Peru 🇵🇪 ...

"Painted lies on painted lips...I don't believe that i believed in you"
Great line, on par with Butler genious lyrics.
a song that still stands out today!

Still the best Band ever.
After dealing with music industry assbites for 8 odd years, I can see why Richard Butler penned 'All that money wants.'...
The Butlers, voice and bass.
Easily their best tune, both wildly relevant for the time (1988), and even more so prescient considering the ensuing 35 years................
Very much ,so President Gas is also a timely and relevant song in today's,political, military climate.
Of the tracks that were worth living
Richard sometimes reminds me of Bowie, love Psychedelic Furs man

A very unique classic.
Thank you for this song and helping me through a divorce.
been there. 💗🍀✌🙂👍!
Back in the day when music meant something.
I saw them in concert at the Sausalito Art Festival. What a blast!!
Thr furs always mention rain and love in their songs
Rain and fog, a common thing in U.K.
..and in their early stuff 'all of this mess'...
I wonder if he loves rain like I do. He uses rain a whole lot in his lyrics
I believe that he is still beside you watching you and helping you. He loves you still
This is to the one that used to listen to the psychedelic furs with their dad

the first track that got me into the furs in 1988

Fantastic songwriting here.
Like this version best with the crunchy multi-layered guitars; later versions de-emphasize these to their detriment imo...
just classic band, one of a kind, and derivative and influential nonetheless!
