    THANK YOU BIG TIME ,, WITHOUT YOUR VIDEO I WOULD HAVE BEEN LOST !!! I just put that kit in today ,, but i did not drill holes ,, , all i did was put in new EPC , TCC solenoids , clean the screen , and install thermo blocker . Thermo blocker went in easy . Two keepers fell out and i used your video for the keepers , check balls, plate screws , and thermo blocker . thanks again !!!!!! oh ....and also ,,, i found a blown out upper gasket .

      My upper separator gasket was blown out as well, in a few places. One place was around the reverse servo. Ford has a TSB regarding the gaskets blowing out. Ford TSB 03-22-10.

    You enough!!! Cleaned my (first timer) and took note of everything except the pins because I didn’t think they would fall off easily, well two did, and I didn’t know where to put them. You helped me with that! 🙏🏽

    Its easier to take out the keepers by pushing the valve a little, at the same time. Nice explanation

    I wasn't really trying to criticize you or your product. I guess I spoke too soon because the method i mentioned of updating the valve body is the way I learned and I failed to realize that's not the only way or process to do it. I have done more research since and I see that there's different ways of achieving results, it all depends on what exactly you're wanting to accomplish with the performance of your transmission.

    your skill and courage should be applauded! I have a question about the solenoids. Is there one just for the downshifting into the passing gear? Out of the blue my 2000 ranger will not drop into the passing gear but for all the other gears it's smooth as silk. Any thoughts? tx.
    Would using something like Seafoam Transtune work?

  • @jimmydavis8009
    @jimmydavis8009 7 лет назад +1

    You didn't drill out the valve body channel wall over by the pressure reducer valve, or drill a new Port between shift valves 2 and 3. And there's a hole on the separator plate that should be plugged with filler rod and another hole that needs to be made smaller by pleasing it between 2 steel balls. How much difference does what you did actually do? And why does the kit you used come with springs for the OD drum clutch, those will come with a complete tranny rebuilt kit,, which you would need if you get in that far to take out the OD drum? Good video but the kit you're selling is incomplete for a valve body upgrade and has other items that are unessasary for a shift kit.

      Hello,
      Thank you for the input!
      We have had a lot of very positive reviews on the performance of this shift kit.
      I believe you are talking about the TransGo shift kit. This is the Superior Shift Kit.
      They both address different problems in different ways.
      You make a good point that the shift kit comes with a few extra parts that are only needed in a full rebuild.
      But that's just what it comes with, like i mentioned this is a complete Superior Shift Kit and we have had a lot of success with it. Also it is made 100% in the USA. I appreciate the feedback, and i will be looking into the TransGo kit in the future to see if it is a more successful kit.

    What would a heavy duty application be or mean by adding the oem spring along with the new spring.is that with extra damage or if it has more miles or worse shifting or if your going to be doing heavy duty type stuff with said vehicle

      @@alexanderwebb680 i actually figured it out by reading some LS (chevy) forums. on the back side of an EPC solenoid, there is a torq bit screw you can adjust for pressure. i backed it off (CCW) 1/8th of a turn and it made the hard shift go away. but it was too soft, so i turned it back 1/16th of a turn (CW) and it brought it to a good pressure where it doesn't slam anymore, but still has a much firmer feel than stock. nice clean shifts.

      Yes, what he's working on is the valve body which is bolted to the bottom of the transmission located inside the pan. So drop the pan then you can unbolt the valve body from the bottom of the transmission.

    Benjamin, that large servo, I believe it's associated with reverse. Is there supposed to be a spring in there a reverse I believe it's a reverse spring that I saw but I don't know if it's on all the Transmissions can you inform me on that please

    • @benjaminwest4485
      @benjaminwest4485  5 лет назад

      Hello,
      Are you reffering to the servo that is on the inside of the transmission next to the valve body? If so then i believe there is supposed to be a large spring underneith the servo. Hope this helps!

    When I pulled my cover plate off I didn't have the metal valve. Truck was hard shifting 1-2, struggled finding 3rd time to time and slipped after an hour of driving and going up a hill at 55. Also wouldn't shift into overdrive. Is there I way I can order just that valve as I've got a sonnax zip kit on the way? Or does the kit come with a new valve.

      What year is your truck? Vehicles manufactured after 12/01/2001 did not have the shiney metal valve or the screen and one of the end plugs is different, it has 6 holes in it and a center hole.

    Shouldn't you be spaying some chemtool, wd40, or brake cleaner in the bores befor replacing the valves? I'm just an ameture, but just wondering... what do ya think?
    Forgive me for being naive, but I know moost good valve body rebuilders usually thoroughly clean the vslve body befor rebuilding or putting a shift kit in it.
