I have just recently purchased a 10 speed v6 diesel xlt ranger ex demo and now learning from all your videos i wait a see what your developing for this auto, i believe in early prevention so very interested to see what becomes available in the near future ps love all the videos old and new!
I have a 6L50 with twin coolers and the factory cooler with a deep pan. Temps are no higher than 74.c towing 3.2 ton in summer time north of tropic of Capricorn. Thanks for your products. Works for me.
Excellent explanation on Valve bodies, this gives me a good InSite on what I may expect from my Ranger px2. I will be in touch regarding purchasing a new valve body. thank you.
This video is so useful. I hope this solves the Ford Ranger gear delays and pulls. I hated this transmission from the first day I took this car out. Maybe I have a solution now?
Cheers Rod & Trev, great explanations and demo. I have the ultimate bundle on my Ranger's wish list. Next you guys need to have a Perth workshop. Cheers 🍺 🍻
I’m watching this.. I have a Tesla. Not much interest in auto transmissions However … what great men. Well done. Fascinating technology. A proper work ethic. Admirable. Best wishes.
90,000km into a nomad in my 200 series mostly towing a Kimberley. 190K on the clock in total over the 13 years I've had it. With 270kw and 900nm from Safari Armax ECU, should I be looking at an extreme valve body over the nomad?
We can only do a Nomad Valve Body for the Colorado as part of a full transmission rebuild as half the valves are in fact in the pump assembly which means removing the transmission to get the pump out. We do have the Heavy-Duty Oil Cooler, Temp Gauge Kit and Deep Cast Pan. We can also do an extreme rebuild with Billet Torque Convertor and all of the above.
We have thought about it for years but the Nomad Valve Body ticks so many box’s in one go and doesn't cost that much different to the flash tune even when fully fitted. I don't disagree that they do work very well together because they do
Truly, thanks for that info, took a bit of mystery out of what i understood or more correctly, what i didn't understand. My GU has a ECU tune and now delivers 779nm to rear wheels (second gear) on roller dyno. I tow 2.3 tonne van, run GU at 3.5 tonne always, full touring set up. With this info, what valve body should i elect, nomad or extreme? Await your reply, thanks.
Love your work .. Just wondering what oem fault are in a 98 105 cruiser. I give it a service for the first time about 4 years ago I bought it 2005 .. it now has 465000ks on clock…think of putting nomad valve body in it as I tow about 2.4ton van or would you recommend a full rebuild..a vid would be great on the old 4 speed…
Most obvious issue is sort 2-3 gear change as they run fairly low clamping load and are very susceptible to a loosely adjusted pressure cable. Nomad valve body make a huge difference to them. You will love the new Nomad Valve Body.
I think you we're giving Trev anxiety going through his nicely organized drawers 🤣 will be doing one of these nomad valve bodies for my 2018 Fortuner once my bank account allows it, currently have one of your cooler kits ordered and in transit. What are your thoughts on the Penrite ATF LV oil would you say it's a decent oil to run in this full time or is there another brand you recommend based on your experience.
Hi, Been a while since you put this up, but had a question. Do you suggest doing the upgrades for a new car, or wait a”period” of time? Am expecting delivery of a next gen Everest later in the year and will towing 2.5ish ton van an long trips, and wondering if it is worth spending 000s on a new vehicle, or more cost effective to use it for x000 k’s before upgrading? Appreciate your thoughts
If you are going to tow then Oil Cooler and Deep Cast Pan for sure, otherwise you are good to go. Here is a link:automatictransmission.com.au/select-your-vehicle/ford/everest/ford-everest-next-gen-3-0l-v6-turbo-diesel-with-10-speed-auto/?make=Ford&model=Everest&series=Next%20Gen%20-%203.0L%20V6%20Turbo%20Diesel%20with%2010%20Speed%20Auto
Are your valve bodies a diy, a "simple" change and go kit that i can do in my garage or do I need to have ute plugged into computer to tell ecus and controllers that the valve body has been changed?
If you are handy with the tools, then you won’t have any problems with a Nomad Valve Body and it comes with fitting instructions. Depending on what model we also have video install guides as well. automatictransmission.com.au/technical-support/valve-bodies/
Lead frames can give you several faults are famous for unexpected gear changes often missing two of more gears. Would need more detail on your exact problem and feel free to call Trevor on 03-97628004 and he will be able to sort it for you. He's super busy so be patient and he will get back to you.
on a late model prado 150, can the auto be 'fixed' to reduce the effect where it engine/auto brakes going down hill ( after you just touch the brake pedal) when not required? is this due to an auto 'tune'.
This is factory programming to aid engine braking, only happens when it sees a certain braking pattern that I have not figured out as yet. Maybe someone here has a better idea on when this occurs? In any case can't be changed unfortunately and most cars are doing the same now.
Yes, my wife is saying the same thing, I thick she is trying to get ride of me! But with work and waiting for a new engine to arrive put me back 12 months. We are filing a couple of episodes coming up late this month where we are back working on my 79 series installing the new engine and tearing the old one down to find out what happened.
Maybe I missed it in the explanations, but I have an 2007 FJ and tow a camping trailer that’s around 3800lbs fully loaded, does the nomad valve body allow for towing in 5th gear which is overdrive or is it still recommended to tow in 4th (1:1)? Either way this still seems to be the way to go. Thanks
@@WholesaleAutomatics good to know. I've ordered a nomad and trans cooler. Glad it's ok to tow in 5th. 4th seemed a bit low for towing on my prado 6 speed. Looking forward to trying it out
hey! i've been watching your videos for a while, its so interesting seeing a gearbox torn to bits. could you please tell me what that part is called at 5:30 or how i could get some haha? thank you so much from W.A.
Apart from the obvious that the Nomad Vave Body is a complete remanufactured assembly that gets vacuum tested to check for valve bore wear in the aluminium housings and repair as required I don't really know as we have never used the transgo A340 kit.
hi do you offer any service for the middle east Dubai, we are so far , there is a big over landing community i have a A750F on lc200 used for over landing would love a nomad valve body but sending one back would cost so much

Check oil level and pressure cable connection and adjustment. If these are fine then I'm going to say that the transmission has seen a full life and is ready for e rebuild.
Just not common in the 4X4's that we most see and work with here in Victoria. I'm sure there would be someone out there that is well in tune with the ZF range of transmissions. Ashcroft Transmissions in the U.K are very well known for working a lot with the ZF range of transmissions.
I see it as manufacturers don't seem to care if the customer is aware of the constant changes in technology. They want you to buy the brand. If it stuffs up all that's on you.
Yes we do have the full range or A440F Toyota valve bodies. Here is the web link: automatictransmission.com.au/shop/nomad-heavy-duty-valve-body-to-suit-toyota-landcruiser-60-series-4-speed/
i had the boys @ wholesale's fit a valve body 2my 2019 D max over 12months ago, for towing a 2.7tonne van, best money ive spent for a long time already had there oil cooler on the box, I'm 1/2-way in 2 a around Australia trip & it's working a treat uphill downhill engine break, drive it like a manual, As for flash tunes i wouldn't waste my money on 1, i installed a different system from a company called diesel care, anyways enough said,
You guys are awesome in your field. Thanks. Great informative video.
I love that the Nomad in my GU gives me engine braking in 1st, absolutely fantastic going down steep tracks. That's the standout for me.
Are u used lockup kit and valve body mate?

With 900Nm then yes, I would be recommending the Extreme Valve Body and they drive really well.
Great info. I don’t see a listing for a Colorado 6 speed. What options are there for this box??

Hi there I got a question. Is there a way to tell if your valve body is installed in the transmission? Do you guys put tag on them?
Depends on what make and model as most vehicle you have?
Got a triton MR 21 model, I’d be keen to see a video of information on it with some video footage of it before and after, not sure if it’s possible.
Yes we should do that Andrew, I might have to add it to our to do list.
