I have listened to at least 8 different performance of this wonderful Mozart piece. This was the best.

Joseph Haydn attended the rehearsals for the first Act of Cosi fan Tutte in late December 1789-with M. escorting him on one arm (to keep him from slipping on the ice in front of the Vienna Burgtheater - whilst ‘Papa’ Haydn’s other hand was holding his walking cane)-it was said that Haydn broke down in sobs when he heard the initial rehearsal / run-through of this sublime Terzetto in the rare Mozartean ‘Mediterranean Key’ of E-Major - and I can clearly understand why - music written with such beautiful mastery can only bring tears to anyone with any kind of musical sensitivity …

Great artists recognize other great artists. The first time that I heard classical was Mozart, "A Little Night Music" and Symphony No. 40.

She is the one of the worst sopranos of all times. Thank goodness she's singing jazz now. Have you ever seen her pathetic attempt of Lucia, Violetta etc.

Beautifully sung! There are so many great versions out there of "Soave sia il vento". This has to be near the top of the list, but I would still rank the Elizabeth Schwartzkopf, Nan Merriman and Sesto Bruscantini version under Herbert Von Karajan as the winner. Very tough call though!

She has to read the music, and flap her hands around?

    • @paul-ogdenford8006

Flaps her hand as if something were wrong with her.
She once had a phenomenal voice, I loved it so much. She stopped singing opera when she knew it was falling her, as easily predicted by the way she sang. In her recitals thereafter, just like this one, she forces her weak chess to maintain the necessary vocal levels, and barely hanging on. A very heroic but tragic effort. She should have stopped singing by then.

She has a very kinesthetic-emotional connection to her roles, so perhaps that is part of it.

Well, Fiordiligi is not Dessay's role or Voicetype, she probably just agreed to sing it this once by special request - she's never performed it elsewhere.

    AURA AMOROSA
"Cosa serve?
Cria a aura amorosa, ostentando lábaros. (*)
