Poor Rita! I idolized her when I was young. I am glad she had one decent man in her life. Her abusive father clearly taught her she was not worthy of good treatment from men. But the men were not worthy of her.

Rita Hayworth had bad taste in awful men. She was a beautiful woman and a great actress who deserved way better than she got.
No, it wasn’t her choice, people who are abused as children have their identity highjacked, they are operating under false, projected identity… They don’t know who they really are, they are detached from their own true self…
Its a struggle, do sometimes people like that act frantically, because its constant inner battle - true self vs projected ID.
Its like they are absent, and something else get to decide what they do, how they live, what choices they make but true God given identity is there, but they don’t know how to tap into the true self - its mind control….. hence so much struggle, suffering, drama…
That’s why we see beautiful, good women ( or decent guys) self sabotaging, marrying wrong people… Just like beautiful Rita, who like you said “deserved way better” As many people across the world, whose spirit, identity were crushed by wicked people…sadly often by those who supposed to love them.
These days, fortunately we are more aware of this dynamic so we can take action, and start loving ourselves….and others the way God created, designed for us.
