- This week, it’s the live action debut of Ahsoka Tano on The Mandalorian 2x05 - Chapter 13: The Jedi. After his mission to destroy the last standing Imperial outpost on Nevarro, alongside Greef Karga and Cara Dune, Din Djarin and the Child are on their way to the forest moon of Corvus in hopes of reuniting the Child with Jedi Master Ahsoka Tano.
This episode gave us a ton of revelations, including Ahsoka’s mission, the origin of the child, and what’s next for this duo’s story.

Yes. Rebels left some questions in the air: Mandalore and Ezra. Makes perfect sense to think The Mandalorian will want to address what happens with Mandalore, so Bo Katan will be casted again for sure.
Asoka is looking for Thrawn and where he is, then is Ezra. If Azoka has to return or not, depends on if Gideon is related to Great Admiral Thrawn.
I think that Thrawn could totally show up in season 3, as well as Ahsoka again. The end of season 2 needs to be a coming together between a spear-wielding Mando and Bo-Katan against Gideon since that seems to be where the nuggets of this season are leading.
Thrawn will show up in the Asoka show and I can't wait!!!
For sure a tie-in to launch a Rebels sequel IMO. They won't do that story inside of The Mandalorian. Too off-base and takes away from the style of this show. This will focus on Moff Gideon, his rise to power and the Mandalore struggles to regain the Dark Saber and reunite the people, presumably under Bo-Katan. And Din will find himself at odds with the old ways vs the new.
The Mandalorian is single handily taking Star Wars to a new level and easily becoming the best of the entire franchise

The Mando Dad vibes were super strong with this one. Him pacing while Ahsoka was communicating with the kid as well as almost jumping for joy when his boy moved the knob was adorable.
Another one of the amazing tidbits from this episode - The actress who played the Magistrate is Diana Lee Inosanto, Goddaughter of Bruce freaking Lee! And his birthday was yesterday, (the 27th) so....How awesome is that?! Rest in Peace Icon!

There’s been a lot of rumor of her getting a spin off show prior to this new episode even prior to Mando season 2. So there is hope.

@Tobias Kuhn, IKR! We all know why she was asking for Thrawn. Then again, they might have just had Ahsoka in it for reaction. Along with all the other famous characters. There are 3 episodes left, and they have introduced so many characters that they probably aren't even bringing back. They may have just put Boba Fett in for the reaction, like, c'mon disney!
I just really love and appreciate they didn't just settle for Ahsoka being the biggest drop in this episode. The Child's name AND a Thrawn name drop?! Filoni, you absolute madman.

I think this is how they are introducing Ahsokas series. Her finding Thrawn and Ezra. This was a test series to see what they could do. In Dave Feloni we trust 🖤✊🏻
Anakin definitely was the best by a long mile, the only reason he fell, was because Qui Gon lost the battle of fates! Like Dave Filoni said himself, it was the battle about the fate of the child (Anakin) if Qui Gon would have won, then Anakin would never gave up on the Light.
Here is a thought... Mando is being hunted by Moff Gideon... what if the Moff is working for Thrawn?

The saber duel was not meant to be against some regular. The Magistrate is Diana Lee Inosanto, Dan Inosanto’s daughter and Bruce Lee’s god daughter.
Looks like Grogu is gonna have a lone wolf and cub moment where he determines his own path. The ball/Jedi or the sword/Mandalorians. Would be interesting if he becomes a Yoda version of Tarre Vizsla with his own mini darksaber.

What I wonder is how they are going to continue to tell the story of Ahsoka's search. Essentially this has not much to do with the Mando. So maybe a own spin off series? I would love it.

Ahsoka said to let Grogu choose for himself when Mando takes him to Tython. What if instead of choosing the life of a Jedi, Grogu chooses the life of a Mandalorian and doesn’t reach out with the force to other Jedi? Do you think that’s a possibility? I wonder if he could use the force to reach out to force sensitive Mandalorians. He doesn’t seem to want to do any more Jedi training. Just a thought . . .

I was thinking that, now that we have seen that the beskar spear can fight against lightsabers, I wonder what could Mando use to fight Moff Gideon with the Dark Saber?😉 Also didn't Pedro Pascal use a spear in the Game of Thrones' Viper vs Mountain duel, so that probably means that he was trained to use it, just my train of thought.
There is an adage in Martial Arts; it takes 100 days of training to master the staff, 1000 days of training to master the sword, and 10,000 days of training to master the spear. I really hope that Mando has 10,001 days of training when he goes up against Gideon and the Darksaber.

I have just turned 30 today and (not at all by choice) am spending today alone, no family, no friends that I can see face to face, no pets because the place live in doesn’t allow them, and suffering from severe depression. So seeing reactions of people on RUclips to my favorite tv show is the closest I can feel to having friends. Right there with ya bud. Recent break up, just got home exhausted from working 22 of the last 38 hours at my retail job to a tiny apartment alone on a cold night. But then I sat down with my heroes and our 12,000 friends and watched them geek out just like I did when I watched the episode last night.
I loved Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano. She was a badass wielding those lightsabers. Also, it will take a while to get used to calling The Child Grogu. Also, the prisoners outside the Magistrate's compound gave me some Hunger Games vibes. (That would be an interesting and weird crossover).

To answer your question Hector, at 8:24, yes Anakin was the best Jedi Knight we had seen. Jedi should have been allowed emotion. Without it they would treat padawans as simple pawns and not their students and close friends. Anakin was one of the few jedi to actually use that emotion. Yes, he used it and focused on it far too much, but he was the Chosen One and it was all foretold. As George Lucas himself said, "It's all about Anakin".
Amazing seeing Michael Biehn. Ronin like Ahsoka taking on everyone, live action phenomenal. Jaw dropped when mentioned Thrawn. Can see Luke but wants Ezra. Pedro as Viper in GOT, he can use a spear.

Ahsoka mentions perhaps a Jedi will sense Grogu and seek him out. What if a dark force wielder does the same? How would Din know the difference? He clearly isn’t aware that there is a dark side of the force.
I thought this same thing. My top choice for his potential mentor is Ezra Bridger since they're linking so much from rebels to this show, Ezra is my prediction. He dabbled in the dark side and might be able and willing to help Grogu. Otherwise if we are talking strictly dark side users, Palpatine is still out there in some capacity. He could send an inquisitor or sith assassin like Ochie. Or we could see Luke Skywalker come scoop up the child to train him. Luke was also very tempted by the dark side. Whatever happens I am probably going to be happy with it.

I honestly think that Ashoka’s intro is the best sequence featuring a Jedi in any form of Star Wars media. The way they used the light sabres to highlight her and make her disappear was simply stunning. They basically made her an intergalactic ninja Batman Jedi taking out her enemies from the shadows. So good!

I was just about to comment about the sound design like "no love for the sounds?" and then came the 11:35. I had eargasms.
Regarding the Clone Wars: Maybe you know this already, but there still exist 40 unfinished Clone Wars episodes (,due to its cancellation through Disney in 2014), which would have played out before the final arc of season 7 (,I think). I would love to see these missing episodes on screen one day (,in some form).
Also, I think Ahsoka's head-tails/Lekku and head-horns/Montrals (in this episode) are a bit short for her age, but they probably couldn't make them bigger because of practical reasons, I guess. Also, her white markings on her cheeks don't go all the way back to her head-tails/Lekku, unlike in Rebels and unlike in the concept art at the end of this episode. The rest of her looked pretty accurate, though (IMO).
i reckon R2 saved Baby Yoda from order 66, which is why he seems so happy to see him in the final episode of season two

I hope Thrawn makes an appearance this season as like a Thanos equivalent, then we get the Ahsoka show with another season of the Mandalorian in the same year, where Thrawn makes Vader like appearances, not overusing him until it leads up to a big cross over. I think we may get Luke by then too, probably Ezra, maybe Cal and definitely new characters.

14:15 - I'd note that, though there were multiple opportunities this episode to say "I am not a Jedi", Ahsoka never did so. That feels telling to me. That, plus the title, make me wonder if in the gap since we last saw the character, something changed. SPOILERS AHEAD: in season 7 of the animated Clone Wars, she encounters the Jedi again. When she does so, she's asked if she's returning to the order. Her response could have been "no", but instead it was "not yet", which was a notable change in her thinking up to that point.
Really appreciate the fact that they chose to just skip the tease and bring her right out immediately for this episode. And her finally entering the town and facing down the magistrate and her lackeys was literally shot by shot Kurosawa's Yojimbo.
Adam literally looks at the end like he just had some sort of transfigurative, spiritual experience from this episode and needs to take a minute. It's that kind of reaction that keeps me coming back to this channel.

The look on your faces when Ahsoka asked where is Grand Admiral Thrawn. You guys were speculating who would play this character and here's my opinion. Lars Mikkelsen (yes brother to Mads) already voices this character. Dude is 6'4" and has the look...they should seriously consider letting him play this part. He's a very good actor!

Why is every RUclipsr shocked that Grogu grew up on Coruscant? He's 50 years old and this show takes place 28 years after RotS--he likely lived on Coruscant for 22 years, given how the Jedi recruit younglings when they're...young.
Force users don't just use the Force, it's something that's learned--we learned this with Anakin, Luke and even Rey. Grogu knew how to use the Force! We also saw him sitting meditatively on the Razor Cress in the episode with the frog lady--that's also something that's learned. I always assumed Grogu grew up in the Jedi temple when his age was revealed. I felt that his use of the Force and all the little hints here and there were more just more bits of confirmation. I was more shocked that Grogu wasn't someone that Ahsoka actually knew. I expected her to remember him, but that didn't happen--they would've been younglings together, lol.

Personally I wasn't the biggest fan of Rosario's portrayal of Ashoka (tbh not a big fan of her as an actress in general). Imo she doesn't really fit the character's personality but hey that's just me.😅

I love how this show is gathering all the fans together and manage to stay respectfull of the licence : from the movies, from Clone wars, from Rebels, from the comics/novels or from the video games, like myself.
Can't wait to see if Tython ll look like the same as in SWTOR (of course thousand years later :p).

I didn't expect the Mandalorian to last more than 3 seasons (mirroring a 3 movie trilogy), b/c Disney will probably want to pursue other characters like Boba Fett. But ending something with the popularity of...Baby G... early would be silly, so I would think they would extend this series. Which will mean it was smart to bring in multiple characters to act as nemesis.

8:22 Yes...Yes Anakin was the best. He was admired by all the young Jedi, respected by the Clones, risked his own life for clone, Jedi and Droid rather than put them in harms way and was an all around badass. Plus..Chosen One.
