Filipinas 🇵🇭 0:15 and Timor Leste 🇹🇱 7:35 The Philippines is only Asian Hispanics from the Pacific with ignored native Filipino Español speakers, same with Timor Leste but less known with native Portuguese speakers! This also means that any country that has strong influences in terms of Language, Culture, History, Heritage and Values originating from the Iberian Peninsula where Castillian Spanish and Portuguese is the dominant language! Also both Las Filipinas and Timor Leste are somewhat similar in some aspects very unique in Asia. The Español and Portuguese are both vulgar language that is a descendant of the Latin language that The Philippines and Timor Leste share which could not be erased or forgotten. 👌

Similarities in tone and physical features are so evident.. When we went to Thailand, people there kept on speaking to us in Thai when we respond in English, they said, " Oh! Filipino.. We're like siblings." Hello brothers and sisters.. All the love from the Philippines!!
Lao and Thai sound so fun, I love it! Vietnamese sounds cool, also does Mandarin. Tagalog sounds like Spanish with some English words, I like it. Tetum sounds like the Portuguese spoken in African countries like Angola and Mozambique, in my opinion. Timorese Portuguese sounds similar to Brazilian Portuguese (with a very slightly European accent). Tamil = tongue twister.
@Zirconia Ms Well Africa is an entire continent. It is considerably larger than SEA in land mass. People normally divide Africa into North (OPEC nations), West (what people usually think of with Africa), East (Horn of Africa), Central (usually considered "sub-saharan"), and South (Angola and down).
Wow.. I was very surprised about the language of Timor Leste, it has Portuguese influence. Thus, Filipinos will understand much of the words they use because we have a Spanish influence in our language too.. Portuguese and Spanish are almost the same I believe. But Bahasa Indonesia seems very interesting language. I think the words are very easy to pronounce. 😊
FALSE. Portuguese have very different sounds and pronunciation compared to spanish. Maybe in its written form the languages seems similar but you will not understand its spoken form.
If you take individual words all latin languages Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, French etc.. have similar words that you can de recognize but when it come to speaking probably Italian a e Spanish are more similar .

All the languages here are unique and very interesting. My favorites would be Tetum(of course, since I'm Portuguese 🇵🇹 🇹🇱 ❤), Thai and Tagalog. Tamil is also quite interesting! Best greetings to all of ASEAN and Tamil speaking countries from 🇵🇹! 🤝🤗🙏
I am from Brazil and therefore I speak Portuguese, a Romance language. I loved to see East Timor speaking Portuguese, it is a bit strange to think that one people on the other side of the world is speaking the same language as you, and you can understand everything that they are saying... I love that feeling but at the same time it feels strange. The language that was a lot different in this video was Tamil... OMG, what sounds and rhythm are those?!
Just a clarification. There are 4 languages that are considered "Romantic." These are French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. It has nothing to do with "romance" but rather, they were all derived from the Roman language (thus Romantic), which is Latin. Latin died when the Roman empire expired. But the language mutated into these 4 languages. Note: All 4 countries were part of the Roman Empire although they were the only ones to adapt their languages from Latin. Thus South American countries, which speaks either Spanish or Portuguese came to be known as Latin America.
@Chris Soriano This is an old comment, but there are a lot more than four Romance languages, not only ones spoken within other countries, but also Romanian, which is the language of an entire country as well 👍
wow Filipino & Timor-Leste sounds very similar! 😳 Edit: I just read that Philippines has Spanish words borrowed from Spain & Timor-Leste has Portuguese words from Portugal. That explains why they sound quite similar!

*Indonesian language in this video is a "bahasa slang" or slang Indonesian language, not an official language, use by youth Indonesian, colloquial language by young people or in everyday / social language. Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian language) is a modern Malay language, simple and effective, easy to learn. Some South East Asia's countries and overseas, can understand Indonesian language such as in Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Timor Leste, southern Thailand, southern Philippine, Cocos Island (Australia), Madagascar, even in Suriname (South America). That's why nowadays, Indonesian language has been studied by universities in some countries in the world, from Europe, Africa, America, Australia and dozens of other countries, apart from being easy to learn because the simplicity, Indonesian language is spoken by more than 350 million people in the world*

Jeez, Timor Leste's language is the most intelligible to me among other languages, I didn't expect that. Mostly because of those latin-based words; influenced by Spanish to us and Portuguese to them. (I'm Filipino btw)

@@jyashin Bahasa Malaysia (Malay) is the National and Official Language of Malaysia.
I'm from East Timor. We are brothers of CPLP😇❤️
