      Thank you for your vote of confidence. I’m really happy with the new plants so much. Yes the colors definitely are vibrant and colorful. However I just learned that it does not like the cold weather. So as soon as my temperature is drop below 40 I’m thinking I might lose the plant unless I try to bring it in the house. Oh well, I am enjoying it now so I guess that’s what matters. ❤️🥰👍Liz

    I love your So Cal garden. I used to live there and miss all the plants I could grow year round. Boise area is high desert with cold winters. I live vicariously through you. Thank you!

      Hello Abiering and thank you for taking the time to visit me this morning. I actually live in Northern California ( Central Valley) about an hour and a half away from San Francisco. I do appreciate your kind words and agree we can grow some great plants out here in California, but then on the other hand you living in the high desert with cold winters, enables you to grow things that I cannot. For example, tulip bulbs need to be chilled in the winter so I would imagine yours grow wonderful.also hydrangeas really suffer in the heat. Maybe those grow better for you? I guess no matter where we are. It’s all right. I do appreciate you commenting on this video. It’s always fun to correspond with other gardeners. Hope you have an amazing day and thanks again for stopping by.❤️👍🥰Liz

    I live in zone 9b, but I live in the low AZ desert. We are just starting our best gardening season, so I have many seeds sprouting under lights getting ready to be transplanted outdoors.

    • @GardenHappy
      @GardenHappy  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi June it’s crazy how our zones are the same number yet so different. Isn’t Florida zone 9b as well? LOL One of my favorite places to visit has always been Tucson … I had friends there and loved going to all the national parks. And I remember seeing so many hummingbirds as well. So what grows best for you in your garden?

    • @juneramirez8580
      @juneramirez8580 2 месяца назад +1

      @@GardenHappy I think the problem with the zones is that is only accounts for how cold it gets in winter. They don't take into account the high temps in summer! That is where the difference is! Spring I grew romaine lettuce, kale. Nothing else was worth the trouble. Very disappointed! I am trying eggplant and some tomatoes that made it through the summer. Started seeds of broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, spinach, bib lettuce, more kale different type, a lettuce mix and some flowers to help bring in pollinators which I had none of during the summer.

    • @GardenHappy
      @GardenHappy  2 месяца назад

      Hi June that is very interesting. I did not know they gauged the zones by the winter season. That totally makes sense and you are right not the best method. Wow you grew a lot of stuff from seed. Even though you had some disappointments that is so awesome that you grow so much. You inspired me to maybe grow more things from seed as well. Thank you for taking the time to Comment. ❤️🥰👍Liz

    The moss roses are really pretty. Will they last through the winter? I like your idea about getting rid of things that don’t work for you. I always feel so guilty to pull out anything that might get better even if they look terrible now. I have a lot that I need to get rid of because of the heat. I hope you feel better soon ❤

    • @GardenHappy
      @GardenHappy  2 месяца назад +2

      Hi Ginger, that is a very good question about the moss rose if it will survive winter. Honestly, I have no idea. This plant is new to me and my very first experience growing it. But that is a very good question. I would imagine since it is native to a desert that it would survive a cold winter being that the deserts do get very cold. I will find out and post the answer in a video. Hope you have an amazing day and thank you for taking the time to visit me.❤️🥰👍Liz

    • @GardenHappy
      @GardenHappy  2 месяца назад +1

      Ginger, I just did a Google search and found out that I was wrong. The moss rose will NOT survive my first freeze. They are definitely heat, loving plants and hate the cold. So I will either have to dig it up, put it in a pot and keep it indoors during the winter or replant them and the late spring when the temperatures heat up again. That’s kind of a bummer. I didn’t know that. But I’m glad you asked the question because now I know. 🫤Liz

    How is your Eden climbing rose bought as bare root from Home Depot?

    • @GardenHappy
      @GardenHappy  2 месяца назад +1

      Hey there Kee09… that is a very good question and I will include that in my next “question and answer” video. I am hoping they bloom again for fall. I bought two Eden climbing roses. One is a little bit bigger than the other, but they are actually getting very tall and growing up the trellis nicely. I will make a video about them very soon. Thank you for your question, I appreciate you taking the time to visit me. 👍🥰❤️Liz
