Takeaways from this event:
1. Sora is insanely talented and should be considered a major contender in these events along with Nyjah and Yuto
2. Nyjah is crazy for going for the trick he missed twice instead of posting a safety score just to try and make it into the top 4
3. Sean Malto is actually a great commentator and should be hired for future events to give insights into what its like to be a competitor at the highest level
4. Japanese skaters are on a different level. Their female skaters, too, all are just amazingly consistent and technical
5. Remove an mostly american judging team that time after time try their best to give other americans an advantage..

oh sora has BEEN a major contender he just gets rigged on his scores all the time, got ripped of a xgames title one year
Strong agree with all the comments about Malto's commentary. This three man team feels really balanced. Cannon leads keeping things focused and on track, Rowley flows really well doing play-by-play and keeps the energy, and Malto provides more in-depth thoughtful analysis.
High level commentary for some insanely high level skateboarding.
Rowley seems like he needs glasses and is he smoking lots of dope?! Lol some of the things he saying, like hyping nyjah. Malto is the man though

Ive seen every SLS since the beginning, and this course is definitely top 3. Great stop 1!
I didn’t like it because there were no quarterpipes to keep the flow going during lines and skate a little transition
I'd say it's the best course.
Seems like some of them were losing speed but I agree I think it’s a great course !
I like the course, but it definitely caused a lot of people to fail their tricks because the angles weren't the best for their tricks. These weird angles and stuff not the best for competition

Its a wake up call for all skaters from the west. Asian skaters specially japanese are doin it real hard. Congrats to yuto and sora. both landed super gnarly tricks we haven't seen before.

@@kasshhhh1122 It wasn’t the best judging on that trick but dude only needed to land one other trick to win. He couldn’t close it out as I said. He got caught up with the 9’s and couldn’t land another trick after that. Should’ve just played it smart and make Yuto land a trick. Great overall performance tho by everyone. Sora definitely pushed everyone to their limit on this contest.

@@kasshhhh1122 i think it was like an 9.2 because it was not perfectly executed, knowing Sorah, and seeing he doing this trick before, he already landed it better. Nevertheless, i think he deserved the win, because Yuto's switch 360flip to fakie should've scored like an 9.2 so in overall Sorah would win.
Yeah Sora should of won... but Yuto deserved it as well.

The fact that nobody even dares to attempt Yuto's nollie variations to rails shows the level of dificulty of those. Most of them either go fakie or switch. And Yuto has been doing those for like 4 years already.
crazy right and by the time Yuto has mastered the insane nollie 360 with flips, people will just be starting to attemp nollie tricks. Nollie tricks may not gain spotlights right away but they are just on a different level, and you know you can nail any tricks regular if you can do it nollie
His nollie back 270 noseslide for instance. Absolutely terrifying.

Nobody tries anybody else's tricks. Nobody tries Nyjah's switch heel lips, nobody tries Joslin's giant big spins, or Girouds hardflips or Ribiero's tre flip NBS's etc.
@@jasondashney Idk about that. Luan Oliveira does hard flips as cool, or even better as Giraud's, same goes to Luan's big spins like Joslin. Aoki does tre flips same as Gustavo Ribeiro, and I've seen others do it too, like Angelo Caro
I Love Yuto, but Sora was in a league of his own today. His Caballerial Back Tail to Big Spin was INSANE.
Either that should have been scored like 9.8/9.9, or the other tricks should have been scored much lower.

One of the best finals I have ever seen in a long time I just love these skaters they put it down this was a great contest between all the skaters.
That second run that Gustavo made was soooo mind-boggling!!! The guy is pretty much a magician at this point 👏
for real he was robbed of the best score there. Soras 9.2 was generous for a run with skechiness, shoulda been like an 8.8. give the 9.2 to Gustavo Ribeiro
These skaters are great! Making it to a Final in A skating competition is A Big Thing in the Skating World!

That was one HEAVY, HEAVY contest... WOW! One of the best SLS events ever, every skater is insanely talented and looking amazing.
Malto did a great job hosting too
Yuto 100% deserved that win he really stepped it up big this stop and loving Milou out there; he just truly having such a blast fall or land while cheering everyone in contest.
Sora is the best!

Agree with comments about Yutos nollie tricks. He can already do the other skaters rail tricks like big flip front board or tre flip 50/50 grind. These would be easy tricks for him - what he is doing is another level.
Love that Nyjah's run goes fakie, fakie, nollie, nollie, switch, switch, regular, regular, Hammer.

yeah i also felt like yuto's line score should've also not been that close to Sora's. Sora's run was just super gnarly
they scored sora higher as the day before but at the same time they scored other skaters even higher so he could not win... dude got robbed
I thought the judging was pretty good overall, but I totally agree on this. Dashawn especially was scored too close to Sora, but I thought Sora should’ve been a few more tenths higher than the other lines as well, it was just so gnarly. Overall pretty good judging tho, better than prelims

Can we just appreciate the commentators, they got better, they're not just two randos picked out in a mall, they sound like actual skaters and they appreciate the skaters for their individual styles and for the difficulty of the tricks. It's just refreshing 😌
It's awesome to see what a global sport skateboarding has become. The final 4 were from France, Portugal, and Japan. No Americans!

Dude at this rate, SLS is going just be dominated by Japanese skaters. Daiki, Sora, Yuto, Gin Woo, Aoki, Keyaki etc. All these dudes are next level lol
Sora smiling, and having fun during his runs was so fun to watch. He was laying down banger after banger and smiling the whole time.
Also, the amount of skill this time around was insane.

And to think that the judges almost robbed Sora from competing in the finals because of their clown scoring, Glad to see it corrected for the finals.

Awesome level, im mindblown. 🤯 Not sure about this new format. In this one in superfinals no one landed anything except Vincent which didnt matter in the end.
Isnt it the format they used for years and years before last year switching it?? 2 runs, 4 best trick scores.
I hear you, but this is wayyy more balanced and encourages a well-rounded day from each skater rather than swooping in at the end to throw a couple heavy tricks down and win. It's no contest compared to how runs felt worthless last year.
Sora 1st trick made everyone stepped up their first tricks 😅 Hence to get 2 scores in first 4 tricks really difficult so the last 2 kind of no matter any more in this event 😂
Super finals should either be top 5 (just having one of the four not podium is a bit strange) or have 3-4 trick attempts imo, otherwise I’m a fan of it
I don’t watch this channel a whole lot but after seeing this level of skill and competition im very excited to see what’s to come. I’m sure this super crown is gonna be insane! Can’t wait to see it!

The old bloods in SLS likes of Nyjah and others have to learn some new tricks cz man these tricks that we usually see from them are becoming normal and rated 7, 9tricks in SLS now are tricks no skater try on a normal day and these newbies are killing it. Also Japanese eat skateboards for a living😍🇯🇵🇯🇵

But watching someone like Foy in sls isnt all that fun. Amazing skater, but have done pretty much the same tricks since he first was in a sls
Nyjah has high 9 tricks who tf you think you're talking about? Don't be surprised or salty next stop when he wipes the field like he did in Rome. Anybody can take it.
Are you on glue? Nyjah did switch heel tailside, and almost flip to front smith on the gap to rail in this very contest. He's the only guy who is always bringing new tricks to the table.

Sora Shirai is Master Splinter of Skateboarding. He set the bar and raised the level. This is where it is at! Off the Wall - Out of this World! Best Street league event yet!
I just got back into the skate scene after 5+ years mostly away from skating, probably haven't watched any SLS events in like 7-8 years until recently. The level these guys are skating at now is fkn INSANE!
I mean, the level from 8 years ago was still high but these tricks going down now in the LINE SECTION like cab back tails down a tall set is just nuts. Nyjah doing switch heel fs tails down big stuff first try. Yuto and Sora with their crazy 180 grind variations or Kairi with his insane heelflip to grind combos. Jagger Eaton doing switch bs noseblunts. Gustavo with his crazy tre flip to nosegrind and noseblunts. It also feels like there are just way more skaters at that level than 10 years ago. Kids like Cordano Russell and Braden Hoban are killing it and so are many others from the US, Brazil, Japan, Colombia, and likely a lot of other spots I'm less familiar with skaters from.
This stuff was thought of as video game stuff when I got into skating 15ish years ago and now the tricks are in contest LINE SECTIONS at times lol. The progression of skateboarding is just incredibly fun to see

Yo I’m digging the videos. I wish I knew about Revive before I got my board and backups. But next one will be revive. I started in January because with my mom in a home I can now get hurt and she will be taken care of. I’m loving the story and your overall attitude no one skated in my town so I rely on channels like this to talk skating.
Just saw Sora at the Tour Qualifier for the first time ever, strictly started rooting for him. Now after the first stop this is def. my bet for the super crown. Well deserved!
