You have the best coral videos!! Thank you
Thanks for the great advice! I've had a small cluster in my tank for about 2 months. They don't look dead; however, they don't look like they're thriving. I'm going to apply what I learned right now...
I really appreciate your videos
I got a tiny half inch frag of some acan because it also had a nice pulsing xenia colony on it. Two for 1 deal! Gotta make sure the acan thrives too
I try to feed mine mysis every few days.. keeps them happy as long as i can fight the shrimp away
Magnifique, BRAVO !!! 👏👏👏
I feed mine a lot and it has grown 3 new polyps in the last 1 month 3 weeks
High light might be the most probably cause for the change in color. More feeding would help as well.
Love Acans!
Hi Than Just found this is your back catalogue something I planning on doing very soon thanks for sharing.
Ps Have you a video on Blastomussa propagation I didn't see one
MAGNIFIQUE !!! 👏👏👏
fantastic video, Thank you for making theese!
thumbs up :D
I have a fairly successful low phosphate high nutient reef tank and have watched all types of corals except the picky sps's.. triple to quadruple in a years time..BUT have yet to get Acans to grow. (Well..My goneopora andcsun coral are verry slow though)
is there a updated acan video ?
i support this message
Amazing video :) Do you think I could feed them with freeze-dried cyclopeeze or is thawed food better?
Do you have any opinion on Wavelength of light Acans should receive. Along that same idea, how long of a photo cycle?
I don't have any experience with coral accel, so I can't comment on that. What may help with Acans is to try and feed them. If it looks like they are infected or receding, I would suggest the iodine dip. Best of luck
great vid and info. I had an Acan and it died on me after doing real well. Is it true Peppermint Shrimp will eat them ?
What are the orange ones at 1:04?? I have one of those and dont know the name!
I love those size frag discs, they are nice & large. Where can I get some of those discs?
I just got two acans! How long do they take to open?
echinata or lord acan? what are the differences and can either of these types touch when they grow?
Is it possible to overfeed them? i went a little overboard with fauna marin LPS pellets. I fed them a lot. They are colorful and have their feeding tentacles out all the time.
calcium is been around 420 since i started using reef fusion 2 part system. alk is usually around 9-10. dont know my mag level but the reef fusion does contain traces of mag plus i dont water changes every 2 weeks. my 2 frags are currently going steady. there not showing the skeleton when the lights are on, their feeding tentacles however dont come out anymore. phosphate and nitrates are low. not sure what else i can do
Do you have to feed each individual polyp or are they all connected in the end?
how much do u feed your nps?
Water parameter is also key to weather how well they do in tanks. What levels are your calcium, Alk, and magnesium?
ive tried 3 frags that looked great in the store tank and good for a day or two in my tank...but, each of them close up and their polyps never get "plump" again. with my current frag, im adding coral accel by kent daily but no signs of improvement yet. should i give an iodine bath a try?
Will one head supplement other heads if the others didn’t catch food during feeding?
You can get a 2 pack of that glue from a dollar store for.... a dollar. lol. Love it!
what brand iodine do you use?
Never tried cyclopeeze. Sorry!
:D You used old footage from that old fragging video 2 years ago!
Just FYI to save you some time. I have had inland bandsaw for a couple years. I use it every week and never clean the saltwater off. It won't rust. The blade is high-quality stainless steel and the rest is plastic except for the sealed motor of course.
i have an acan that was a mix of orange and green i feed hm one every 15 days but he has turned completely green now with only a couple polyps orange he is in high light an high flow i tried changing light and flow but didnt make a diff. plz. help me out
I've got to get me 1 now
Are Aussie Lords types of Acan?
Should these be left on the plug and attached to rock, or what's the best way to place these in a tank? Thanks.
Dosent really matter but I prefer to glue mine to the rock structure
hi Than I have a question can you put 2 different colonies to together and let them grow into eachother like zoas or is that a bad idea
+daniel wallengren Acans of the same type don't fight but different species kill each other quick.
Tidal Gardens Inc. Ok thanks so 2 lords together would be great
Possible but not too likely. Some types of peppermints can eat coral but it's rare.
U put that little iodine???? I put it so dark I can't see through the container. And I put them in for half an hour. They do fine.
What kind of iodine? I have asked this question to several people and get no response.
Lugol's solution would work. I personally use CoralRX for all coral dips...works well for me.
Hi. i was wondering if you had any suggestions on what to do for an acan that appears to be losing its colour. originally purple but had browned out significant ly. target feed twice a week and daily dose reef foundation a and b. cheers
Hey dude. Found a Solution? Got the same problem ... big rainbow acan colony looses bright green and yellow and is getting orange/brown 😣
NRG 1337 hey mate. After abit more research it seems the major cause of browning out is lack of light. ive started ramping my lights up slightly and it does seem be darkening up abit.
thx man! Really? 😮 Just ramped my white channel down und put it under shade cuz i thought it get too much light 🤔 Run my Razer Maxspect 16k 160W @ 55% whites - 85% blues
NRG 1337 ive only got evergrows it2080 on mine and they were at about 60%. going to see how it goes up to 75% as i dont want to piss the rest of the corals off. i also read that high po4 and no3 can cause browning out, so might be worth double checking those?
Are u sure u wanna ramp UP? I read alot of shade shade and shade ... Oh ok thx mate good to know! My PO4 is around 0.8! 😒 NO3 is good.
Unfortunately everything rusts in a greenhouse.
I feed once a week so ye cuz I don't have time
Why does it seem like everyone in the industry is using such large ceramic plugs? They are unnatural and obnoxious in the tank.
