Slash is actually underrated as a guitarists but being in Guns N Roses made him mega famous because of his top hat and long curly black hair. He was the coolest cat on the block. The first pre 2000 song to get 1 Billion views was November Rain by Guns N Roses. They have some of the most iconic songs of all time. If the original band had stayed together since the beginning then they would have become as big as The Beatles or The Rolling Stones. Not to say that they are not big as they are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, have sold over 100 million albums and their reunion tour a few years ago became the 5th highest grossing of all time. Their songs are timeless and are still as relevant today as when they were first released. They are my all time favourite band.
No way they become the next Beatles. Nirvana comes in during the 90s and makes GnR a novelty. Oasis is the only band I think that could have been Beatles level if they managed to hit America as hard as they did England
@@Beamboy555 no way,UYI albums came out in 91 and did amazing. Their decline had nothing to do with Nirvana, just the members arguing and eventually leaving. And really???Oasis as big as the Beatles????? Most people haven't even heard of them, what are you talking about?(sorry if I sound mean)
Lmao he sucks life. Listen to literally any of the solos his bends are totally off especially for a professional guitarist. Yeah I know he’s drunk but almost every well known guitarist ever was either drunk or on some drug on stage
Patience.... (is a great song) November Rain... Paradise City..... (IS FIRE) Live and Let Die (is a great remake from WINGS in the 70's) They came out in the mid to late 80's when i was in college. Fell in love with their sound....i could never go see them in concert bc i was a poor college student. They broke up in the 90's.....They finally announced a US tour this summer, so i bought tickets for me and my kids....then COVID-19 shut it down.........
November Rain, Paradise City, Welcome to the Jungle, Don't Cry, You Could Be Mine (you might recognize from the Terminator 2 soundtrack), Knocking on Heaven's Door... all are absolute classics! You can see on the Paradise City video how they could pack out a stadium and the energy was incredible. You can watch the very dramatic official November Rain video, but there is also an awesome live performance of it they did with Elton John... when Slash climbs on top of Elton's piano... chills... because you know what's coming LOL! Slash is responsible for some of the most recognizable guitar rifts ever played.
"I thought this was gonna be a slow song." Um, for them it is! ;-) I love the respect you have for the music! And tour intelligent comments, GREAT reaction... NEW SUB!
Every vid you can find from GnR back in the day is fantastic. They were one of the greats. When it comes to breath control, there are few better than Axl. Slash is a wonderful blues guitarist who happens to play rock music. He hates this song, by the way. The famous riff is something he used to do to warm up. He's one of the one's that got me interested in playing myself. I had tickets to see them when they toured with Metallica and wound up in the hospital with double pneumonia the night of the show. I was pissed, but I had a couple friends that freakin loved me.
You need to react to Sebastian Bach from Skid Row.. You havnt heard an outstanding voice like his... One of the best songs to show his range is Wasted Time... Simply Mind blowing voice!
I got the cd this is on, Appetite For Destruction, for my 13th birthday in 1987, along with my first cd player, That solo is pretty much the reason i always wanted to learn guitar,
Imagine how many kids picked up a guitar for the first time after hearing that solo. Then imagine how many guitars wound up in pawn shops after those same kids realized Slash is a god on the guitar and they would never ascend to that skill level.

Steve Stevens is the guitarist on Dirty Diana, but Slash did play on MJs song “Give Into Me” which led them to tour together in the early 90’s & Slash also played at Mikes 30th anniversary in 2001!!
I'm brand new to your channel, but I'm subscribed to a half dozen other reaction channels. I would recommend "ONE" by Metallica, followed by "Master of puppets". It's all about venturing out of your comfort zone.

Rock bands dating back even to the late 60s were all about their hair. It was just the Rock N Roll thing. I'm glad that GNR didn't turn into one of those Glam Hair Metal bands. They were so raunchy and real and the fans loved it. 🤘😋
When it comes to most of Guns 'N Roses music, especially this song, you hear a lot of female singers singing them because Axel Rose's vocals. Btw, Axel Rose is from Indiana.
You should review either “like a stone” or “I am the Highway” by audioslave. The late Cris Cornell has some amazing vocals, and Tom Morello on Guitar is amazing. “Hunger Strike” by Temple of the Dog is another good one for Cornell vocals, joined by Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam)

Patience is slower. Shows Axl's range much more. I think Sweet Child was done in a warehouse and well as Patience. Just finished reading Steven Adler's book about his time with GNR. It was very interesting and heartbreaking at the same time. He was the drummer......."was". I am trying to read Slash's book now but the print is a bit too small for me. God Bless on your journey of getting to know GNR!! :D
Yeah, this is a great song, thanks for the quality reaction. I saw an opera teacher talking about axl rose who said he has 8 octaves of range and does 3 hours of voice excercises before each show, which is crazy if true (and I have no reason to not believe her).
